A method of forming an assembly including a first workpiece having a surface provided with a mortise and a second workpiece provided with a tenon inserted into the mortise joining the workpieces together in which the second workpiece is disposed in a certain orientation relative to the first workpiece to provide a certain disposition of the workpieces when joined together, generally consisting of providing identifying marks on the surface of the first workpiece and the tenon of the second workpiece at locations assuming a certain disposition when the second workpiece is disposed in a certain orientation and the tenon is registered with the mortise; positioning the second workpiece relative to the first workpiece wherein the second workpiece is disposed in the certain orientation relative to the first workpiece, the tenon is registered with the mortise and the marks are disposed in the certain mark disposition; and displacing the second workpiece toward the first workpiece and inserting the tenon into the mortise.

Bulk textured material sheeting

A process is provided for making bulk textured material sheeting. As a continuous supply of flat material sheeting is fed, the sheeting is repeatedly impacted with toothed knives, each knife creating a row of raised and generally pointed structures on the sheeting to texture the sheeting.

Fastening device for driving double-headed fasteners
09573260 · 2017-02-21 ·

An automatic fastening device includes a driving mechanism for driving a double-headed fastener and a magazine for receiving and delivering the double-headed fastener to the driving mechanism. The magazine includes a first channel that receives a first head of the fastener and a second channel that receives a second head of the same fastener. The first and second channels guide the fastener along the magazine and toward an actuation component of the driving mechanism for driving the fastener into an object. A plurality of double-headed fasteners are inserted into the magazine, guided by the magazine to the driving mechanism, and driven one at a time into an object such that the first head of the fasteners extends from the object for easy removal of the fasteners.

CARDIAC VALVE PROSTHESIS

A prosthesis for implantation at an implantation site proximate a native aortic valve, the implantation site including a valve annulus and a plurality of Valsalva sinuses located distal to the valve annulus. The prosthesis comprises an armature and a valve connected to the armature, wherein the armature includes a proximal portion configured for anchorage to the valve annulus, a distal portion configured to be positioned distal to the Valsalva sinuses when the proximal portion is anchored to the valve annulus, and first, second and third Valsalva sinus anchors each extending between and connecting the proximal and distal portions and arching radially outward between the proximal portion and the distal portion. The Valsalva sinus anchors are positioned so that each can extend into and engage a wall of a different one of the Valsalva sinuses

Heat-exchange apparatus for insertion into a storage tank, and mounting components therefor
09562724 · 2017-02-07 ·

A heat-exchange apparatus and a mounting component set for installation into storage tanks. The heat-exchange apparatus comprises a heat-exchanging component, a coupling manifold configured to engage with the heat-exchanging component, and a hollow, elongate, flow-directing element that delivers fluid to the heat-exchanging component. The mounting component set comprises an inner flange for engaging the inner wall of the storage tank, an outer flange for engaging the outer wall of the storage tank, and at least one gasket cooperable with one of the flanges. The heat-exchange apparatus sealably engages the outer flange such that the heat-exchanging component extends into the interior of the tank, and the coupling manifold is interconnectable to an external supply of heat-exchange fluid.

Containers with a vent

An example apparatus includes a container defining an internal volume including an aperture to provide access to the internal volume; and a vent associated with the aperture, the vent in a closed position prior to coupling the apparatus to a printer, the vent entering an open position in response to an interaction with a connector of the printer.

Catheter assembly with seal member

A catheter assembly includes a catheter hub defining an interior cavity and a catheter tube extending distally thereof. A rigid actuator extends proximally in the interior cavity and supports a seal member thereon. The seal member includes a central membrane, a distal portion, and a proximal portion. An hourglass shaped actuator cavity is formed in the distal portion and receives a barbed end of the actuator. The outer surface of the seal member is in partial circumferential engagement with the catheter hub to define an air path that allows fluid communication between areas of the interior cavity distal and proximal of the seal member. A punch tool is provided to form a tri-slit in the membrane of the seal member.
