EASY LOAD TRIMMER HEAD SPOOL WITH NON-RADIAL GUIDE CHANNEL
20180020615 · 2018-01-25 ·

A trimmer head spool for a vegetation trimmer machine. The spool includes a hub that defines a bore and has at least one flange or a plurality of spokes extending radially outwardly therefrom. A trimmer line conduit is defined in the spool and includes a first funnel defined in a first region of the flange or spokes and a second funnel defined in a second region of the flange or spokes. A non-radial guide channel is in fluid communication with the first and second funnels. The non-radial guide channel spans the hub's bore and does not extend through a central axis of the spool about which the spool is rotatable. The non-radial guide channel may be provided on a module that is selectively inserted into the bore and aligned with the first and second funnels. In other embodiments the entire trimmer line conduit is integrally formed in the spool.

THEFT-RESISTANT CABLE CLAMP
20170370398 · 2017-12-28 ·

Aspects of the present invention provide a theft-resistant cable clamp that increases the time and effort required to remove the cable from the irrigation equipment, thereby deterring thieves As the extensions that protrude from the cable-reception loop are forced together, the walls of the cable-reception loop compress against the cable. Openings in the extensions on the cable clamp allow the cable clamp to fit over a component of the irrigation equipment. A plurality of teeth can protrude from the perimeter of an opening to grip the exterior of the component. A coupler or other component may have a groove into which the teeth engage when the cable clamp is in a final location on the component.

Flexible multi-lumen brachytherapy device

A flexible, multi-lumen brachytherapy device includes a plurality of loose lumens extend through a hub towards a single point of attachment at a distal rigid section. Because the lumens are attached at only a single distal location, the lumens are free to move axially and rotatably, thereby increasing the overall flexibility of the device to thereby decrease intermittent device movement while increasing patient comfort. A novel keyed stylet can be selectively inserted to increase the rigidity of the device as needed. The ability to dynamically modify the rigidity of the brachytherapy device provides a comprehensive brachytherapy solution that satisfies concerns of the patient, the surgeon and the radiologists.

Sheaths reducing recoil and loss of retention for polymer scaffolds crimped to balloons

A medical device includes a polymer scaffold crimped to a catheter having an expansion balloon. A single piece sheath is placed over the scaffold immediately following crimping of the scaffold to the balloon. The single piece sheath is replaced by a two-piece sheath, which is removed prior to performing a medical procedure using the medical device.

Method and system for installation and removal of ballast
09580283 · 2017-02-28 · ·

A ballast system for heavy equipment including a ballast weight configured to be removably mounted, proximate to an end of a portion of the horizontal structure of the heavy equipment, at least one actuator mounted on the horizontal structure of the heavy equipment, operable between a first position and a second position, and oriented to actuate horizontally along at least a portion of the horizontal structure, at least one tension member that connects the ballast weight to the actuator and is configured to move the ballast weight vertically in response to the at least one actuator actuating along at least a portion of the horizontal structure; and a locking mechanism configured to removably attach the ballast weight to the end portion of the horizontal structure.

Suture and Soft Anchor Assembly and Method of Making the Same
20170049437 · 2017-02-23 · ·

A method of anchoring a suture into a pilot hole in bone utilizing a suture anchor. A lumen-defining circular soft wall, having a first and second end, is slidably engaged to a piece of suture, a first length of which extends from the first end of the wall and is threaded through the lumen from the second end, and a second length of which extends from the second end and is threaded through the lumen from the first end. The suture anchor is introduced into the pilot hole so that the first length and second length of suture material extend out of the pilot hole. The first length and second length are pulled on alternately, thereby permitting the suture anchor structure to slide on the piece of suture material, and to be compacted evenly by the pulling, until the suture anchor is set in the pilot hole.

A connecting wire is a wire having a circular cross-section and made of shape memory alloy or the like. Individual blocks have a cross-section configured to engage with an orthodontic bracket and have a through hole to insert the connecting wire. Because a torque is applied separately to each of the individual blocks after the connecting wire and individual blocks are formed according to an arch form on a Monson sphere, the torque can be applied keeping a three-dimensional curve such as the Monson sphere.
