Assembly and method for loading a self-expanding collapsible heart valve
An assembly for collapsing a prosthetic heart valve includes a compression member and a pusher member. The compression member has a first open end with a first diameter, a second open end with a second diameter less than the first diameter, and a tapered wall between the first open end and the second open end. The pusher member has a base adapted to engage an end of the valve. The pusher member and the compression member are movable relative to one another between an initial position in which the base of the pusher member is relatively far from the first open end of the compression member and an operative position in which the base of the pusher member is relatively close to the first open end of the compression member. Movement of the pusher and compression members from the initial position to the operative position radially compresses the valve.
DEFLECTABLE CATHETER SHAFT SECTION, CATHETER INCORPORATING SAME, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A deflectable catheter shaft section is disclosed comprising an elongated body extending along a longitudinal axis and comprising a distal end and a proximal end; and a plurality of lumens extending along the longitudinal axis of the elongated body, wherein at least one of the lumens is abutting at least another one of the lumens. A catheter comprising the deflectable catheter shaft section and a method of manufacturing the deflectable catheter shaft section are also disclosed. A catheter incorporating a deflectable catheter shaft section can further comprise first and second compression coils disposed over pull wires located within the catheter, wherein the compression coils are unattached to the catheter or components thereof, but can be constrained by a shaft coupler at a distal end of each of the compression coils and by at least a portion of a handle assembly at a proximal end of each of the compression coils.
Adjustable fail-safe rotary spring operator with a retaining band
A rotary spring-return actuator operator is provided with a multi-slot shaft and a clock type spring retained by a retaining band which encircles the spring in such a manner as to insure that the potential energy within the spring is safely contained during all operations requiring disassembly of the actuator assembly, and wherein the retaining band facilitates the in-field reversal of the spring direction or the adjustment of the spring preload by securing the spring to one or more of the slots on the multi-slot shaft.
Composite interbody device and associated manufacturing method
A composite interbody device includes (a) a plastic core having a superior surface and an inferior surface, (b) a superior endplate and (c) an inferior endplate. Each of the superior and inferior endplates includes (i) a bone interface side for interfacing with bone and having a plurality of pores permitting bone growth therein, and (ii) a core interface side, opposite the bone interface side, having a plurality of voids that accommodate material of the plastic core to couple the endplate to a respective one of the superior and inferior surfaces, wherein the voids are isolated from the pores to prevent the material of the plastic core from entering the pores.
Methods and apparatus for managing pressurized gas in fluid dampers
A method and apparatus for a shock absorber having a damping fluid compensation chamber with a gas charge. In one aspect, a partition separates a first chamber portion from a second chamber portion, wherein the first portion of the chamber is at a first initial gas pressure and the second portion of the chamber is at a second initial pressure. A valve separates the first and second chamber portions and opening the valve comingles the first and second chamber portions so that the combined chamber portions are at a third pressure. In another aspect, a piston disposed through a wall is in pressure communication with the gas charge and is biased inwardly toward a pressure of the charge, whereby an indicator is movable by the piston in response to the pressure.
Golf Club Head
A golf club providing improved golf ball launch conditions is disclosed herein. The golf club includes a face component and a sole comprising an elongated recess disposed proximate the face component. The elongated recess preferably is tube shaped, and preferably has an opening with a smaller width than an innermost surface of the elongated recess. The elongated recess may be a separate piece that is permanently affixed within an opening in the sole. Some embodiments of the golf club also comprise a cover affixed to the sole and at least partially covering the opening of the elongated recess, while other embodiments comprise a filler material disposed within the elongated recess or between the elongated recess and an internal surface of the face.
Sheaths used in polymer scaffold delivery systems
A medical device includes a polymer scaffold crimped to a catheter having an expansion balloon. A sheath is placed over the crimped scaffold after crimping to reduce recoil of the crimped polymer scaffold. The sheath is removed before the medical device is implanted within the body.
CORDLESS ANCHOR SETTING TOOL
A bit retention device has an upper support member having an inner surface and an outer surface. A lower support member fixed to the upper support member. A stationary plate is mounted to the inner surface of the upper support member. A clamp plate opposes the stationary plate and is spring biased toward the stationary plate and slidably moveable between the upper support member and the lower support member.
Joint housing of a ball joint as well as method for mounting the joint housing on a carrier element
This invention relates to a joint housing (10) of a ball joint (12), comprising a sheet-metal part (14) for accommodating a ball head (16), which is substantially rotationally symmetrical with respect to a joint axis (A) and includes a circumferential wall portion (18), wherein the circumferential wall portion (18) includes a housing opening (26) at an axial end (24), through which a joint pin (28) can extend, wherein the sheet-metal part (14) is formed with two layers at this axial end (24) of the circumferential wall portion (18). Furthermore, the invention also relates to a method for mounting such joint housing (10) on a carrier element (34).
Stents, packaging, and substances used with stents
Polymers have many positive properties which make them beneficial as a material used in a vascularand neurovascularimplant, such as a stent. Stents comprising polymers, methods of making stents comprising polymers, packaging for stents, and adhesives, coatings and other materials used on stents are described. Also described are stents with flared ends having bends.
