Termination for Sheathed Tubing with Leak Containment and Detection Provisions
A fitting for an end of a length of corrugated tubing with an outer sheath includes an engagement ring for gripping the tubing adjacent to an endmost corrugation of the tubing to preclude axial displacement of the retainer on the tubing. The fitting also includes an end plug having at least one threaded surface and a hollow cylindrical part sized to admit and engage with the engagement ring. The end fitting also includes a nut having a threaded portion complementary with the threaded surface of the end plug and an inner surface that defines an inner cavity. An annular groove extends from the inner surface. A vent extends through the sidewall and is disposed between the threaded surface and the groove. A gasket is disposed in the annular groove and a portion of the gasket extends into the inner cavity and is configured to sealingly engage the sheath.
System and Method for Connecting a Compression-Type Coupling to a Coated Conduit
A tool for removing a coating from an end of a coated conduit comprising a metallic conduit having an outer diameter and a polymeric material applied over the outer diameter thereof is provided. The tool comprises: a guide member having an outer diameter sized to fit within an internal diameter of the metallic conduit; and a cylindrical cutting member having a substantially closed first end rotatably connected to an arbor, a substantially open second end, and a plurality of teeth elements. The cylindrical cutting member has an inner diameter that is substantially equal to the outer diameter of the metallic conduit such that when the cylindrical cutting member is rotated, the teeth elements remove the polymeric material from the outer diameter of the metallic conduit.
Moving an entire nuclear reactor core as a unitary structure
An entire nuclear fuel core comprising a plurality of fuel assemblies is preassembled in a nuclear fuel cartridge having a self-supporting unitary support structure. During a refueling operation, the unitary support structure is moved into a nuclear reactor vessel. The unitary support structure may be formed by top and bottom core plates coupled together by vertically-oriented connecting rods which compress the fuel assemblies therebetween. A plurality of reflector wall segments circumscribe the core and are the coupled together between the core plates by the connecting rods which are coupled to the core plates. The connecting rods may extend through the wall segments.
Method of joining two components, auxiliary joining part and components assembly
A method of connecting a first component and a second component with the aid of an auxiliary joining part, wherein the auxiliary joining part is formed from a pin and a plate. A position of intended fracture is present between the plate and the pin. The first component, the second component and the auxiliary joining part are brought into a stacked arrangement such that the plate contacts the first component and the pin projects away from the side of the plate remote from the first component. A force is exerted on the pin of the auxiliary joining part in the direction towards the stacked components which leads to a fracture at a position of intended fracture and the pin is used in order to pierce slugs from the stacked components. The end of the pin which is pressed through the second component, and/or a washer which is optionally provided there, is deformed in order to provide a form-locked connection to the second component or to a washer which is provided there. Furthermore, an auxiliary joining part is claimed.
Swivel knuckle connection
A swivel knuckle assembly for interconnecting a motor and a supply line. The knuckle assembly may include a bearing member to reduce a coefficient of friction. A locking mechanism is disclosed to connect members of the knuckle assembly.
FLOORING APPARATUS
In certain embodiments, a flooring apparatus provides improved traction, improved wear resistance and improved structural support. The flooring apparatus may include an elongated member that includes a top surface and a bottom surface. The top surface may include a cutout portion that extends along at least a portion of a longitudinal axis of the elongated member. One or more inserts are positioned at least partially within the cutout portion. The insert may include a texturized top surface and may be constructed of a polymer material or other material with improved traction and, in certain embodiments, improved wear resistance.
Apparatus and Method for Securing an Enclosure
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for securing a box cover to a watthour meter socket box. In certain embodiments, the apparatus has a clamping member that fits over a wall of a meter box, and a lock housing that locks to the clamping member after a box cover has been installed, thereby securing the cover to the box in a manner such that the box cover cannot be installed unless the clamping member has been installed correctly. In various other embodiments, the clamping member consists of a clamp disposed between a clamp actuating member and a fastening shelf. In various other embodiments, the clamp includes a stopping member for indicating when the clamp actuating member is actuated into a fully secured position. Other embodiments relate to a locking bracket and a lock housing wherein the locking bracket generally comprises a clamping member and a fastening lever that attaches to a wall of a meter box base. The lock housing generally comprises a unitary member with a perpendicular flange. The meter box lid is secured to the meter box base when the locking bracket is secured to the side wall (or another wall) and used in combination with the lock housing and a locking shaft.
Apparatus and method for severing and inserting collated t-nuts
A continuous strip of T-Nuts formed on a common strip of metal. Each T-Nut of the strip of T-Nuts is integrally connected to the next adjacent T-Nut by carry tabs. The carry tabs can be frangible themselves or contain a frangible portion. Each T-Nut includes a cylindrical bore therein and a threaded interior. A mechanism feeds and severs the endmost T-Nut in endwise fashion. The mechanism to feed and sever the endmost T-Nut includes a cutting blade positioned vertically below the frangible portion of the carry tab. A shearing ram having a guide positioned axially in line with the cylindrical bore in the endmost T-Nut is adapted to move vertically from an upper to a lower position to engage the cutting blade with the frangible portion and sever the endmost T-Nut.
Apparatus and Method for Securing an Enclosure
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for securing a box cover to a watthour meter socket box. In certain embodiments, the apparatus has a clamping member that fits over a wall of a meter box and a lock housing that locks to the clamping member after a box cover has been installed thereby securing the cover to the box. Further embodiments relate to a clamping member and a lock housing wherein the clamping member generally comprises a clamp, clamp actuating member, and fastening shelf, and wherein the clamp actuating member may comprise a lever or threaded member to attach the clamping member to a wall of a meter box base. The box cover is secured to the meter box base when the clamping member is secured to the wall and used in combination with the lock housing and a locking shaft.
