HAIR DENSIFYING AGENT AND DISPENSER

Compositions adapted for use as a hair densifying agent are presented, as well as embodiments of a dispenser for dispensing the composition. A hair densifying system includes a dispenser adapted for dispensing a hair densifying agent with a hair densifying agent disposed therein, the system is substantially as described. The compositions can also be used to modify the color balance in a user's hair.

SPRAY-DRIED DYE COMPOSITIONS, PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION AND USE THEREOF

The invention relates to spray-dried, washfast dye compositions (preferably in the form of pigment powders) having a bleeding rate of ?0.5% and consisting of water-soluble functional dyes, preferably food dyes, which are firmly incorporated in a silica matrix. Apart from low bleeding of dye, these compositions are remarkable for their high stability to pH changes and/or ascorbic acid. The invention is also directed to the production of the dye compositions and the use thereof. The dye compositions are preferably employed in coloring foods, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, but also in other uses.

USE OF AN AMPHOLYTE COPOLYMER AS COLLOIDAL STABILIZER IN A PROCESS OF ENCAPSULATING FRAGRANCE

The invention relates to the use of an ampholyte copolymer as a colloidal stabilizer in the preparation of core-shell microcapsules containing a fragrance, wherein the ampholyte copolymer comprises: 2 to 99 mol % of cationic monomer having at least one quaternary ammonium group, 1 to 98 mol % of acrylic based monomer, 0 to 97 mol % of non-ionic monomer, and wherein the ampholyte copolymer has more cationic charges than anionic charges, wherein the cationic charges of the ampholyte copolymer are exclusively due to the at least one quaternary ammonium group of the cationic monomer.

CORE-COMPOSITE SHELL MICROCAPSULES

The invention relates to a method for making a core-composite shell microcapsule slurry for the delivery of hydrophobic active ingredients such as fragrance components of perfume oils. The method includes forming an outer shell by coacervation surrounding an internal phase which contains the hydrophobic active ingredient; and forming an inner shell by interfacial polymerization at the interface between the internal phase and the outer shell. The internal phase contains the hydrophobic active ingredient. The microcapsules are typically incorporated in a consumer product wherein the composite shell prevents the hydrophobic active ingredient from release until desired, generally during use of the consumer product.

STABLE MICROCAPSULE COMPOSITIONS

Disclosed are stable microcapsule compositions each containing a microcapsule dispersed in an aqueous phase and a stabilizing agent. The microcapsule compositions are stable for at least 4 weeks when storing at 45 C., and the microcapsule composition is considered stable when (i) the composition has a viscosity of 3000 cP or less and (ii) 20% or less water by volume of the composition is separated from the composition. Also disclosed are consumer products having such a stable microcapsule composition.

Disclosed is a cosmetic composition comprising particles dispersed in a cosmetically acceptable carrier, wherein the particles comprise redox dye and reducing agent.

MICROCAPSULE COMPOSITIONS WITH IMPROVED DEPOSITION

A microcapsule composition useful in delivering an active material contains an oil core and a microcapsule wall encapsulating the oil core. The microcapsule has a zeta potential of 10 mV or greater, the microcapsule wall is formed of an encapsulating polymer, and the oil core contains an active material. Also disclosed are consumer products containing such a microcapsule.

Method of preparing functionalized particles

Particles are prepared in an emulsion using a method that includes providing a first reactant having at least two unsaturated carbon-carbon moieties and a second reactant having at least two SiH moieties, so long as at least one of the unsaturated carbon-carbon moieties of the first reactant or the SiH moieties of the second reactant is pendant. The method also includes providing a third reactant having a silicon atom and a condensable reactive group bonded to the silicon atom and also having an unsaturated carbon-carbon moiety and/or a SiH moiety, providing a hydrosilylation catalyst, and providing a polar liquid. The method further includes combining the first, second, and third reactants to form particles that have a cross-linked network wherein the condensable reactive group is disposed on the particles, and adding a silane having an organic moiety and a condensation leaving group to form the particles.
