Blood purification system
A blood purification system includes a plurality of monitoring devices (1) each attached to a dialyzer (5) to perform a blood purification treatment on a patient. A dialysate supplying device (2) supplies a dialysate to each of the monitoring devices (1). The plurality of monitoring devices (1) and the dialysate supplying device (2) are connected to each other by a LAN cable . Thus, predetermined individual information relating to the plurality of monitoring devices (1) is transmitted from each of the monitoring devices (1) to the dialysate supplying device (2).
DIALYSIS MACHINE, METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE DIALYSIS MACHINE, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR IMPLEMENTING THE CONTROL
In an embodiment, a dialysis machine includes a dialyser, a fluid line in fluid communication with the dialyser, an inlet valve enabling fluid to flow into the fluid line towards the dialyser during a dialysis treatment, a disinfectant line connected to the fluid line via a disinfectant valve upstream of the dialyser, the disinfectant valve enabling a disinfectant fluid to be provided to at least part of the fluid line during a disinfection procedure, and a controller programmed to open the inlet valve, while the disinfectant line is connected to a source of disinfectant fluid, to create a positive pressure gradient across the disinfectant valve as fluid flows into the fluid line towards the dialyser, the positive pressure gradient ensuring that the disinfectant fluid from the source of disinfectant fluid does not leak into the fluid line during the dialysis treatment.
Blood circuit assembly for a hemodialysis system
A blood circuit assembly for a dialysis unit may include an organizing tray, a pair of pneumatic pumps mounted to the organizing tray for circulating blood received from a patient through a circuit including a dialyzer unit and returned to the patient, an air trap mounted to the organizing tray arranged to remove air from blood circulating in the circuit, a pair of dialyzer connections arranged to connect to the inlet and outlet of a dialyzer unit, and a pair of blood line connectors, one inlet blood line connector for receiving blood from the patient and providing blood to the pneumatic pumps and the other outlet blood line connector for returning blood to the patient.

Method for sterilizing blood purifier and blood purifier package
The invention provides a method for sterilizing a blood purifier, as well as a blood purifier package. The method is effective to decrease the amounts of extracts from the blood purifier attributed to the deterioration of the selectively permeable separation membranes with time during and after exposure to a radioactive ray or an electron ray, and is highly reliable in safety when employed for hemocatharsis therapy. The method for sterilizing a blood purifier which comprises substantially dried selectively permeable separation membranes as a main component, by way of the exposure of the same blood purifier to a radioactive ray and/or an electron ray, is characterized in that the blood purifier is sealed in a packaging bag, together with an oxygen scavenger and a humectant or together with an oxygen scavenger capable of releasing a moisture, and is then sterilized in such a sealed state by the above exposure.
Dialysis machine, method of controlling the dialysis machine, and computer program for implementing the control
A dialysis machine comprising a fluid circuit for providing a dialysis fluid to a dialyzer is disclosed. The fluid circuit comprises a tube with a first valve for providing a disinfectant fluid for disinfecting at least a part of the fluid circuit at disinfection of the dialysis machine. The tube with the first valve is arranged to provide the disinfectant fluid upstream the dialyzer and at a position in the fluid circuit where pressure is, during treatment, such that a pressure gradient between ports of the first valve is provided, the ports comprising at least a disinfectant fluid port and a fluid circuit port, such that the disinfectant fluid port of the first valve is enabled to be safely connected to a source of disinfectant also during treatment. A method of controlling such a dialysis machine and a computer program for controlling are also disclosed.
SYSTEM AND METHOD TO EFFICIENTLY CLEAN A BLOOD FILTER
A renal therapy apparatus includes a blood filter, a blood pump, a treatment fluid pump, and a control unit configured to control at least one of the blood pump or the treatment fluid pump during a filter cleaning sequence. In a first phase of the filter cleaning sequence, a first fluid including a blood-compatible and physiologically safe fluid is transferred back and forth across the insides and/or outsides of the blood filter. After the first phase, a second fluid is formed by mixing the first fluid with air. In a second phase of the filter cleaning sequence, the second fluid is transferred across the insides and/or outsides of the blood filter at least one time.
SYSTEM AND METHOD TO EFFICIENTLY CLEAN A DIALYSIS FILTER
A peritoneal dialysis apparatus includes a filter and a dialysis fluid circuit in fluid communication with the filter. The peritoneal dialysis apparatus also includes a pump for pumping fresh dialysis fluid to a peritoneum of a patient via the dialysis fluid circuit and pumping used dialysis fluid from the peritoneum of the patient through the dialysis fluid circuit and the filter. The peritoneal dialysis apparatus further includes a selective air access in fluid communication with the dialysis fluid circuit and a control unit configured to control the pump during a peritoneal dialysis treatment and a filter cleaning sequence. The control unit forms a fluid mixture during a filter cleaning sequence by opening the selective air access to mix air with a physiologically safe fluid. The fluid mixture is transferred across insides and/or outsides of the filter at least one time.
Blood treatment apparatus adapted to preserve parts thereof
A blood treatment apparatus adapted to preserve a blood treatment unit between blood treatment sessions. The blood treatment apparatus is configured to i) perform a blood treatment session and thereby use the blood treatment unit, ii) fill the blood treatment unit with a preservation fluid comprising at least one treatment fluid concentrate of a type that is used to prepare the treatment fluid, iii) maintain the preservation fluid in the blood treatment unit until a next blood treatment session is prepared, iv) dispatch the preservation fluid from the blood treatment unit in preparation of a next blood treatment session, and v) perform a next blood treatment session and thereby extend the use of the blood treatment unit. A related method is also described.
Blood purifier and blood purifier package
The invention provides a blood purifier which shows a decreased amount of hydrogen peroxide extracted from its selectively permeable separation membranes, and thus is highly reliable in its safety in use for hemecatharysis. The blood purifier comprises selectively permeable separation membranes as a main component and is characterized in that the amount of hydrogen peroxide which is extracted from the selectively permeable separation membrane removed from the blood purifier after 3 months or longer has passed since the sterilization of the blood purifier by exposure to a radioactive ray and/or an electron ray is not larger than 10 ppm.
