DIALYSIS SYSTEM AND METHODS
Dialysis systems and methods are described which can include a number of features. The dialysis systems described can be to provide dialysis therapy to a patient in the comfort of their own home. The dialysis system can be configured to prepare purified water from a tap water source in real-time that is used for creating a dialysate solution. The dialysis systems described also include features that make it easy for a patient to self-administer therapy. For example, the dialysis systems include disposable cartridge and patient tubing sets that are easily installed on the dialysis system and automatically align the tubing set, sensors, venous drip chamber, and other features with the corresponding components on the dialysis system. Methods of use are also provided, including automated priming sequences, blood return sequences, and dynamic balancing methods for controlling a rate of fluid transfer during different types of dialysis, including hemodialysis, ultrafiltration, and hemodiafiltration.
System for collecting mononuclear cells having a suitable hematocrit for extracorporeal photopheresis
A system for collecting MNCs to be treated with irradiation comprises a fluid circuit comprising a product container for receiving a MNC product. The system comprises a separator to work in association with the fluid circuit, the separator comprising a chamber for separation into RBCs, plasma, and an interface carrying MNCs between the RBCs and the plasma. A microprocessor-based controller is in communication with the separator, wherein the controller receives input of a target hematocrit for the MNC product. The controller also receives input for a total volume of whole blood and a number of cycles, and directs the interface and a portion of the RBCs into the product container for a resulting product volume comprising a volume of MNCs and a volume of RBCs. The controller automatically adjusts a RBC volume so that a ratio of RBCs within the MNC product to MNC product equals the target hematocrit.
BLOOD COMPONENT COLLECTION CASSETTE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME
A blood component collection cassette that can trap a foreign object such as a blood-coagulated clot from blood components to be returned to a blood donor and a manufacturing method of the blood component collection cassette are provided.
A sheet-shaped filter member (60) is arranged on a flow path (42) in a cassette main body (40) of a blood component collection cassette (28). A first tube (66) and a second tube (68) are arranged in the cassette main body (40). An inner space (51) of a filter housing unit (54a) is separated by the filter member (60) into a first space (51a) on the side of the first tube (66) and a second space (51b) on the side of the second tube (68).
Fluid Cassette With Alignment Latching Having An Improved Tilt-Tolerance As Well As A Blood Treatment Apparatus
A fluid cassette, for example, a blood treatment cassette having a cassette body embodied as a hard part and, optionally, a film which is connected to the hard part and at least partially covers the hard part, wherein the hard part comprises at least one first alignment device, and a second alignment device which are optionally arranged at first and second opposite sides of the fluid cassette or are attached thereon. The disclosure relates in addition to a blood treatment apparatus.
Loading of Disposable
Described are embodiments that include methods and devices for detecting disposables that may be used in medical devices. Embodiments involve the detection of disposables used in apheresis machines. The disposable are configured to fit into portions, or features, of the apheresis machines in predetermined ways and embodiments provide for detecting whether the disposable have been loaded correctly.
Biological component collection cassette, kit, or system, and method of manufacture
A blood component collection cassette has a flow path in the interior thereof through which blood flows, and a cassette main body composed of a resin that possesses flexibility. The cassette main body includes a first constituent part in which a plurality of concavities and convexities are formed. Furthermore, a resin sheet includes a second constituent part, which is provided on one portion of an outer surface of the flow path wall portion that constitutes the flow path, and in which the plurality of concavities and convexities do not exist.
Methods and systems for high-throughput blood component collection
Described are embodiments that include methods and devices for separating components from multi-component fluids. Embodiments may involve use of separation vessels and movement of components into and out of separation vessels through ports. Embodiments may involve the separation of plasma from whole blood. Also described are embodiments that include methods and devices for positioning portions, e.g., loops, of disposables in medical devices. Embodiments may involve use of surfaces for automatically guiding loops to position them into a predetermined position.
Blood purification device
A blood purification device includes a device body and a cassette. The cassette includes: a casing that accommodates a removal water receptacle; and pump tube. The device body includes fingers, a driving unit, and a housing. The cassette can be attached to and removed from the housing of the device body so that the pump tubes are positioned between the plurality of fingers and the outer surfaces of the casing.
