Peristaltic pumps with selective activation of multiple fluid lines and fluid management systems including the same
A peristaltic pump includes a first motor shaft, a second motor shaft, a first pump head, a second pump head, and a motor. The first pump head is operably coupled to the first motor shaft such that the first pump head is rotated in response to rotation of the first motor shaft. The second pump head is operably coupled to the second motor shaft such that the second pump head is rotated in response to rotation of the second motor shaft. The motor is configured to rotate the first and second motor shafts. The pump head has a first mode in which the first pump head is rotated and the second pump head is idle and a second mode in which the first pump head is idle and the second pump head is rotated.
Peristaltic pump
A peristaltic pump comprises a rotor with rollers and first and second tracks mounted on opposites sides of the rotor. Each track is moveable between a first position adjacent the rotor and a second position spaced from the rotor. The tracks may be linked and moveable together so that as one track moves towards the rotor, the other moves away from the rotor and vice versa. In this way, a single pump can be used to provide two different modes of operation, e.g. pumping liquid when one track is adjacent the rotor and applying suction when the other track is adjacent the rotor.

Irrigation system with pump
An irrigation system including a reservoir with an inlet adapted to guide liquid into the reservoir, the inlet defining a closure for closing the inlet, an insertion member defining an insertion end sized for insertion into a body cavity of a human being, the insertion member defining at least one opening, and a liquid tube fluidly connecting the reservoir with the insertion member, at least one of the reservoir and the insertion member being permanently fastened to the liquid tube and further including an electrical pump adapted to pump liquid from the reservoir and out through the at least one opening of the insertion member, the electrical pump adapted to be separable from the system.
MEDICAL HANDPIECE HAVING ATTACHABLE SPRAY, SUCTION AND DRILL UNITS
Provided is a medical handpiece having liquid spray and suction functions and capable of being replaced with a drill. The medical handpiece includes a handpiece body having an accommodation space therein, a spray unit receiving liquid from an outside to spray the liquid onto a target to be treated, a pump unit transmitting air pressure to the spray unit to increase a spray speed of liquid sprayed by the spray unit, a drive unit converting a rotary motion into a reciprocating motion to transmit power to the pump unit, and a suction unit sucking liquid and foreign matter from the target to be treated.
PUMP MODULE AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A FLUID JET
A pump module and a device for producing a fluid jet with a pump module are disclosed. In an embodiment the pump module may include a pump housing in which at least one pump piston is mounted in a reciprocatingly movable manner and is provided with at least one sealing element which during a pumping operation interacts with a cylinder. For creating such a pump module producible in a simple manner and nevertheless exhibiting the functionality necessary for the pumping operation, embodiments disclose a valve block, which receives at least one valve associated with the cylinder, wherein the cylinder is sealed against the valve block. Furthermore, a cover element may abut against the valve block on a side opposite to the cylinder and between itself and the valve block forms an inlet passage leading to the cylinder and/or an outlet passage communicating with the cylinder.
SYSTEM AND METHODS AND PORTABLE BASE FOR BOWEL IRRIGATION
A portable base for a system for irrigation of the bowels of a user is provided. The portable base comprises a canister unit for an irrigation liquid, and a lid unit for engaging with the canister unit. In particular, the lid unit of the portable base comprises a rim portion comprising an annular skirt that is movably arranged around the rim portion. The portable base is adapted to be shifted to a locked configuration by rotating the annular skirt. The arrangement of the annular skirt around the rim portion facilitates easier shifting to the locked configuration because less torque is required to be applied by the user for the locking/scaling. A system for irrigating the bowels of a user and a method of sealing the system are also provided.
A System and a Method for Anal and/or Stomal Irrigation
A system for anal and/or stomal irrigation of a user's bowel comprises a reservoir (102) for an irrigating liquid, a catheter (100) for insertion into the rectum and/or stoma of a user and for expelling of the irrigating liquid from a catheter tip, and an expandable retention element (104), such as a balloon, for fixation of the catheter tip within the user's rectum or stoma. Tubing and valve systems provide conduits for the irrigating liquid between the reservoir and the catheter and between the reservoir and the expandable retention element, a pump (101) being provided within the tubing system. The pump and the valve system is controllable to selectively pump the irrigating liquid into the expandable retention element, transfer the irrigating liquid through the catheter for expelling of the irrigating fluid from the catheter tip and into the user's rectum or stoma, and to withdraw the irrigating liquid from the retention element for purging thereof.
A SYSTEM FOR ANAL OR STOMAL IRRIGATION AND A METHOD FOR CALIBRATING SUCH A SYSTEM
A system for anal and/or stomal irrigation comprises a reservoir (102) for an irrigating liquid, a catheter (100) comprising a catheter tip for insertion into the rectum or stoma of a user and for expelling of the irrigating liquid from the catheter tip, and a tubing system (121) providing a conduit for the irrigating liquid between the reservoir and the catheter tip. A pump (101) is provided to pump the irrigating liquid from the reservoir to the catheter tip, and a control system (103) controls a flow condition, such as the amount of liquid expelled at the catheter tip. A sensor (153) determines a measure of pressure in at least one first predetermined position in the tubing system and/or the catheter during operation of the pump, on the basis of which the flow condition is estimated. The control system is configured to control the pumping operation of the pump in response to the measure of pressure.
SURGICAL DEVICE ACTIVATION DETECTION USING CURRENT SENSING
In general, devices, systems, and methods for surgical device activation detection using current sensing are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, a surgical system includes a surgical pump, a detector, and a surgical device. The detector is configured to sense changes in electrical power in an AC power line from an AC power source to the surgical device to detect activation of the surgical device. In response to the detection activation, the pump can properly provide suction pressure to the surgical device to allow the surgical device to provide aspiration at a surgical site during performance of a surgical procedure.
