AUTOMATIC IRRIGATION-COORDINATED LITHOTRIPSY
Systems and methods for controlling an irrigation flow rate during a lithotripsy procedure are provided. The system includes a laser configured for lithotripsy procedure, a lithotripsy irrigation system, and a temperature sensor configured to provide input to enable control of a flow of the lithotripsy irrigation system in response to a change in temperature from the operation of the laser.
Catheter device including a connector
In some embodiments, a catheter device may include a catheter including a proximal end and a distal end. The catheter device may further include a connector coupled to the proximal end of the catheter. The connector may include a base having a recess configured to receive the distal end of the catheter and may include a hinged portion configured to couple to the base to clamp the catheter within the recess.
Eyelid retractor and irrigation tool
An eyelid retractor and irrigation tool includes a handle portion defining a longitudinal first axis configured to be grasped by a user and a hook portion connected to the handle portion for retracting an eyelid. The hook portion of the tool includes: inwardly and outwardly facing walls, which are curved about a second axis, which is distinct from the first axis; an edge wall extending between the inwardly and outwardly facing walls; and an interior cavity defined by the walls. The tool further comprises at least one opening extending through the inwardly facing wall or the outwardly facing wall fluidly connected to the interior cavity and positioned such that fluid in the interior cavity passes through the at least one opening to irrigate portions of an eye including the eyelid.
INTRAVENOUS BLOOD SET FOOT PUMP
An IV blood set foot pump includes a base plate, a squeezing plate movably coupled to the base plate by a pivot member and a biasing member coupled to the base plate and the squeezing plate. The biasing member is configured to exert a biasing force against the squeezing plate when the biasing member is in a compressed state. One of the base plate and the squeezing plate comprises a cavity configured to receive an IV pump bulb. IV sets with IV blood set foot pumps and methods of operating IV blood set foot pumps are also provided.
Wound irrigation device
A wound irrigation device including a container with an opening along the outer surface of the container and a nozzle assembly coupled to the container and configured to selectively allow the liquid to exit the container when pressure is applied to the container.
NASAL-SPRAY SAMPLING
A method is provided that includes intranasally dispensing nasal wash fluid into a nasal cavity of a subject such that the nasal wash fluid washes biological material into an oropharynx of the subject from (a) the nasal cavity, (b) a nasopharynx of the subject, or (c) the nasal cavity and the nasopharynx. The method further includes, thereafter, collecting a specimen sample that passed out of an anterior opening of an oral cavity of the subject and contains at least a portion of the biological material washed into the oropharynx by the nasal wash fluid. Thereafter, information is derived from extracellular vesicles present in the specimen sample. Other embodiments are also described.
BI-MATERIAL NOZZLE FOR NASAL WASHES
A nozzle (10) for a container for the intranasal administration of a liquid formulation comprises a nozzle body (12) with an upper end (18) and a lower end (16), a channel (40) traversing the nozzle body (12) and ending with an orifice (17) in the upper end (18), and a nozzle cover (14) covering an area of the outer surface of the nozzle body (12) which is designed to be introduced into a user's nostril, wherein the nozzle body (12) is made out of a first material and the nozzle cover (14) is made out of a second material, said first material being a rigid plastic material, and said second material being an elastic plastic material, and wherein the nozzle cover (14) is not in contact with the orifice (17). A packaging for a liquid formulation for intranasal administration comprises a container and such nozzle (10). A product comprises such a packaging and a liquid formulation in said packaging.
Lower body cavity treatment methods and devices using carbon dioxide and saline
A method of treatment for mixed carbon dioxide, carbonic acid, saline and optional active additives for treating lower body cavity ailments includes delivery of dosage of the treatment at specified flow rates, using a) main housing having a hollow central area containing the dosage; b) a dosage dispenser head located at the distal end of the main housing, and having at least one flow channel for movement of the dosage from the main housing through the dosage dispenser head and to external of the dosage dispenser head; c) a dosage release control component located between the main housing and the dosage dispenser head to permit flow of the dosage through the dosage dispenser head in response to increased pressure against the dosage; and d) a pressure-changing moveable component on the main housing.
Irrigation system with pump
An irrigation system including a reservoir with an inlet adapted to guide liquid into the reservoir, the inlet defining a closure for closing the inlet, an insertion member defining an insertion end sized for insertion into a body cavity of a human being, the insertion member defining at least one opening, and a liquid tube fluidly connecting the reservoir with the insertion member, at least one of the reservoir and the insertion member being permanently fastened to the liquid tube and further including an electrical pump adapted to pump liquid from the reservoir and out through the at least one opening of the insertion member, the electrical pump adapted to be separable from the system.
TISSUE RETRACTOR
A devise for retracting or opening a tissue wound employs two retractor arms that do not enter or penetrate into the wound. The retractor arms engage the tissue on either side of the wound and apply outward pressure on the tissue surface to open the wound.
