DUAL NEEDLE VALVE FOR A WEARABLE DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
20230094194 · 2023-03-30 ·

Disclosed is a valve for use in a pump for a wearable drug delivery device for moving a liquid drug from reservoir into a pump chamber and thereafter from the pump chamber to a patient interface. The valve can comprise two needles, a first needle in fluid communication with the reservoir and a second needle in fluid communication with the patient interface. The first and second needles may be linearly translated to either cover the lumen opening of a needle with a septum or place the lumen opening of the needle in fluid communication with the pump chamber. When the first needle is in fluid communication with the pump chamber, the liquid drug may be transferred from the reservoir to the pump chamber via suction created by a plunger in the pump chamber. When the second needle is in fluid communication with the pump chamber, the liquid drug may be transferred from the pump chamber to the patient interface via a pressure created by the plunger in the pump chamber.

PORTABLE INFUSION PUMP WITH NEGATIVE PRESSURE CONTROL

A portable system and method for infusing fluid medicaments to a patient through an elastomeric fluid channel includes an airtight pressure shell for holding a collapsible bag of the fluid medicament to be infused. A pressure sensor connected to the pressure shell monitors decreases below ambient pressure inside the shell to determine when the ambient pressure becomes insufficient to continue assisting the withdrawal of fluid from the collapsible bag, to an external pinch/squeeze unit. At this point, an equilibrator operates to reestablish ambient pressure in the pressure shell for continued operation. In operation, the pinch/squeeze unit exerts radial forces on the elastomeric fluid channel. These forces act to sequentially push fluid medicament for infusion to the patient when the elastomeric fluid channel is occluded and stressed, and draw fluid medicament from the collapsible bag as the elastomeric fluid channel is unstressed.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to techniques, processes, devices or systems for pump devices for providing a fixed volume of fluid, which is delivered and refilled within one pumping cycle. In one approach, a wearable drug delivery device may include a reservoir for storing a liquid drug, and a delivery pump device including a drive mechanism coupled to the reservoir. The drive mechanism may include a housing having a pump chamber fluidly connected with a channel chamber, an inlet channel operable to deliver the liquid drug from the reservoir to the channel chamber, and an outlet channel operable to expel the liquid drug from the channel chamber. The drive mechanism may further include a resilient sealing member sealing the pump chamber, and a plunger adjacent the resilient sealing member, wherein the plunger is operable to enter the pump chamber to displace the liquid drug from the pump chamber.

The disposable pump module assembly comprises at least one disposable pump module and a fluid circuit tubing. The disposable pump module comprises a supporting element which defines at least one chamber, at least one inlet fluid circuit pathway, at least one outlet fluid circuit pathway and at least one recirculation fluid circuit pathway. The fluid circuit tubing comprises at least one inlet fluid circuit tubing, at least one outlet fluid circuit tubing and at least one recirculation fluid circuit tubing.

DUAL CHANNEL INFUSION PUMP FOR CONTINUOUS INFUSION

An infusion pump includes first and pumping segments configured to operate in parallel with each other, each pumping segment including a group of serially-aligned pumping elements configured to compress an elongated compressible channel loaded within the pumping segment. Each group of serially aligned pumping elements of the multiple pumping segments is caused to pump according to respective timing patterns offset from each other to deliver a first fluid from a first compressible channel loaded in the first pumping segment to a common delivery tubing while filling a second compressible channel loaded in the second pumping segment with a second fluid, and to deliver the second fluid from second compressible channel to the common delivery conduit while filling the first compressible channel using the first pumping segment.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING A LEAKING OCCLUDER VALVE
20230078734 · 2023-03-16 · ·

An apparatus, method, and system for detecting a leaking occluder valve is disclosed. Upper and lower occluder elements of an infusion pump are activated to compress a fluid tubing filled with a fluid to isolate the fluid in an upstream portion of the tubing from a downstream portion of the tubing. While the fluid tubing is compressed by the occluder elements, a pumping element of the infusion pump is activated to compress an intermediate portion of the tubing, between the downstream portion and the upstream portion, to cause a pressure increase within the fluid tubing. Using at least one pressure sensor, a determination is made as to whether the pressure increase is present in a portion of the fluid tubing on a side, of an activated occluder element, opposite the intermediate portion of the tubing.
