Nesting disk separator plates for use in hard disk drives
A hard disk drive with a multiple disk stack normally utilizes disk separator plates near the disk surfaces to reduce wind induced vibrations in the disks and the read/write heads. The manufacturing methods currently used to make these separator plates, metal casting and machining, or injection molded plastic, or extruding and machining, or cold forging tends to be expensive and creates unwanted weight and bulk without the desired precision. Stamping disk separator plates from metal provides exceptional dimensional control at reduced cost, but cannot readily provide the thicknesses required. Stamping and extruding the offsets, or stamping and folding the offsets, is a manufacturing process that provides the required dimensions for the offsets, and dimensional control and reduced cost.
ULTRA-THIN METALLIC FOIL FOR LIGHTNING STRIKE PROTECTION
A metallic foil for lightning strike protection in a composite aerospace structure having a length, a width, and a thickness of not more than 30 microns. There are a plurality of pores of a predefined geometric shape extending through the thickness of the metallic foil and being distributed across a surface area defined by the length and the width of the metallic foil. The plurality of pores in the aggregate define an open area of not more than 40% of the surface area and the metallic foil has a weight of not more than 115 g/m.sup.2. The metallic foil has a weight to conductivity ratio of not more than 0.40 gram-ohms per square.
NEAR-NET SHAPE SHIELD AND FABRICATION PROCESSES
A process of fabricating a shield, a process of preparing a component, and an erosion shield are disclosed. The process of fabricating the shield includes forming a near-net shape shield. The near-net shape shield includes a nickel-based layer and an erosion-resistant alloy layer. The nickel-based layer is configured to facilitate secure attachment of the near-net shaped to a component. The process of preparing the component includes securing a near-net shape shield to a substrate of a component.
PANEL WITH CORE LAYER
A panel includes a base layer configured to have plural first protuberances; a core layer disposed on the base layer and configured to have plural second protuberances, wherein one or more of the plural second protuberances have first slots in a top portion; inserts provided on the base layer and inside the one or more of the plural second protuberances of the core layer; and a top layer in direct contact with the plural first protuberances and the plural second protuberances and configured to have second slots that correspond to the first slots. The inserts are exposed to ambient through the first slots and the second slots.
Platy chemical heat-storage object
A plate-shaped chemical heat storage comprising a substrate composed of a net made of metal and a heat storage material composition supported on the substrate, wherein the heat storage material composition comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of magnesium hydroxide or oxide, strontium hydroxide or oxide, barium hydroxide or oxide, calcium hydroxide or oxide, and calcium sulfate, and optionally at least one selected from the group consisting of titanium dioxide, silicon dioxide, alumina silicate fiber, E-glass fiber and cellulose.
Metal support and flexible display device
The present disclosure relates to a metal support including a bendable region, a non-bendable region, and at least one patterned region covering at least the bendable region. The bendable region is capable of bending in a first direction, a plurality of columns of hollowed-out parts arranged side by side along the first direction are arranged in the patterned region, each column of the hollowed-out parts includes a plurality of openings arranged at intervals along the second direction, and the patterned region includes two first edges arranged opposite to each other in the first direction, the hollowed-out part near the first edge is arc-shaped, convex sides of two arcs face each other, and the first direction and the second direction are perpendicular. The present disclosure also relates to a flexible display device.

Pivot clip
A pivot clip includes a substantially planar body defining an outside edge and an inside edge opposite the outside edge, the inside edge partially defining a notch; and a pair of arms extending from the inside edge, the notch formed between the pair of arms, the pair of arms angled relative to the substantially planar body such that the pair of arms are noncoplanar with the substantially planar body.
Multi-colored decorative component and method
A decorative component includes a plurality of metal finish layers deposited over a substrate and a plurality of sub-layers. The outermost metal finish layer is selectively deposited or removed to define one or more recesses to create different appearances of the component. The outer metal layer may undergo laser ablation to remove at least a portion of the outer layer while still exposing the outer layer in the area of removed material. The recess may extend fully through the outer layer to expose the underlying metal finish layer, and/or the recess may have a sloped bottom surface to define a gradient appearance. The outer layer may be applied over a mask that is applied to the underlying layer, such that the outer layer is selectively applied. The outer layer may be removed to expose the underlying finish layer without exposing a nickel sublayer and without requiring a top coat.
