Spiral wrapped nonwoven sleeve and method of construction thereof
A nonwoven sleeve and method of construction thereof is provided, with the nonwoven sleeve having a tubular nonwoven wall bounding an inner cavity for receipt of an elongate member therein. The tubular nonwoven wall includes a strip of nonwoven material spiral wrapped about a central longitudinal axis of the wall, with opposite edges of the strip being brought into abutment with one another to form a spiral butt joint. The opposite edges of the nonwoven strip are bonded together across the butt joint by melted material of the strip. The nonwoven strip is bonded in tubular fashion along its length such that the nonwoven wall is not subject to unraveling and forming loose end pieces of the strip of nonwoven material.
SOFT SHELL BOOTS AND WATERPROOF/BREATHABLE MOISTURE TRANSFER COMPOSITES AND LINER FOR IN-LINE SKATES, ICE-SKATES, HOCKEY SKATES, SNOWBOARD BOOTS, APLPINE BOOTS, HIKING BOOTS AND THE LIKE
The soft boot and liner include a moisture transfer system that includes an inner fabric layer carefully selected from technically advanced fabrics. A series of layers are provided outside the inner liner including foam material layers, spacer fabrics and breathable membranes, in various orders. Encapsulation technology and waterproofing are used as well. The outer fabric layer is also capable of working with the other layers to promote the transfer of moisture. Frothed foams and flocking with fibers are further characteristics of the present invention. The moisture transfer system is incorporated into a soft boot or skate or as a removable liner for a shell boot. Numerous other modifications and applications are disclosed.
High pressure balloon
Composite fiber reinforced balloons for medical devices are prepared by applying a web of fibers to the exterior of a preformed underlayer balloon, encasing the web with a matrix material to form an assembly, and inserting the assembly into a preformed outer layer balloon to form the composite balloon.
FINE FIBER MEDIA LAYER
Disclosed are improved polymer materials. Also disclosed are fine fiber materials that can be made from the improved polymeric materials in the form of microfiber and nanofiber structures. The microfiber and nanofiber structures can be used in a variety of useful applications including the formation of filter materials.
Multilayered polyethylene material and ballistic resistant articles manufactured therefrom
The present invention relates to polyethylene material that has a plurality of unidirectionally oriented polyethylene monolayers cross-plied and compressed at an angle to one another, each polyethylene monolayer composed of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene and essentially devoid of resins. The present invention further relates to ballistic resistant articles that include or incorporate the inventive polyethylene material and to methods of preparing the material and articles incorporating same.
TRIM COMPONENT FOR COVERING AN INTERIOR SPACE OF A MEANS FOR TRANSPORTING PASSENGERS AS WELL AS METHOD FOR PRODUCING SUCH A TRIM COMPONENT
The present invention relates to a trim component for covering an interior space of a means for transporting passengers, in particular a vehicle, wherein the trim component includes a compressed natural fiber composite element with at least one side that is visible from the interior space of the means for transporting passengers and that forms a natural fiber surface with a structure of natural fibers, and a protective varnish layer applied onto the natural fiber surface and surrounding the natural fibers, with the protective varnish layer being designed such that the structure of natural fibers can be felt. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for producing such a trim component and a means for transporting passengers having such a trim component.
Endless flat belt and method for manufacturing the same
An endless flat belt includes an inner rubber layer 1, a cord core 11 buried in the inner rubber layer 1 and spirally wound at a predetermined pitch in a width direction of the belt, and a reinforcement fabric 2 stuck to the inner rubber layer 1. The cord core comprises polyamide fiber. Opposite ends of the reinforcement fabric 2 are connected with each other into an endless form by adhesion or sewing. A surface rubber layer 3 is stuck to a surface of the reinforcement fabric 2 which is opposite a surface thereof stuck to the inner rubber layer 1.
Basalt-based pressure vessel for gas storage and method for its production
A pressure vessel includes a first (base or innermost) layer composed of a resin-impregnated woven sleeve with chopped basalt fibers assembled in the voids of the sleeve and impregnated with an epoxy resin. A second and third layer is composed of continuous basalt fiber filaments arranged in a helical pattern, with the helical angle of the second layer being not equal to that of the third layer. A fourth layer is composed of continuous basalt fibers arranged in a hoop pattern. The fifth (outermost) layer is composed of randomly oriented chopped basalt fibers impregnated with a resin matrix and compacted with the subsequent wound filaments at up to ten pounds of tension.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING MOLDED ARTICLE
A method of manufacturing a design-imprinted molded article comprises providing a glass mold of a desired shape, that further comprises a desired shaped concave and a desired shaped rim, providing a plurality of sheets of polyacrylonitrile fibers, providing at least one design cutout of polyacrylonitrile fibers, overlaying the plurality of sheets on the surface of the desired shaped concave and desired shaped rim, overlaying the design cutout on the plurality of sheets, and applying high heat to the glass mold.
Accessory units for consumer electronic devices and related assemblies
An accessory unit includes a front flap and a rear cover. The rear cover includes a recessed portion that defines a chamber and a frame that extends about an opening of the chamber. The chamber is configured to receive a consumer electronic device, and the frame is configured to hold the consumer electronic device therein. For example, the frame may define a multi-sided cross-section with an inner edge thereof configured to engage a chamfered edge of the consumer electronic device. The front flap may include segments formed from panels with folding regions therebetween, which allow the front flap to fold. Further, an end region of the front flap hingedly couples the front flap to the rear cover, such that the front flap may be moved between open and closed configurations.
