Butt-welded tubular packaging body
The present invention relates to a tubular packaging body formed from a flexible film having a thickness e, the ends of which are butt welded and covered by a plastic reinforcement element located on the inner surface of said tubular body and having a section defined by a width l and a height h, said tubular body being characterized in that all of the following conditions should be met: —h is greater than or equal to e, —the ratio (l.Math.e)/h.sup.2 is between 1 and 10.
3D printed continuous fiber reinforced part
A part includes a continuous fiber substantially encased in a formation material. The fiber and formation material are arranged in a plurality of alternating layers such that the formation material of a first one of the alternating layers adheres to the formation material of a second one of the alternating layers over the length of the continuous fiber. The part may include a thin-walled hollow member such as a duct. In some embodiments a part comprises a continuous fiber prepared by an additive manufacturing process comprising the steps of: depositing a composite material on a print bed using a print head, the composite material comprising a continuous fiber and a formation material in intimate contact with the continuous fiber; moving the print head and/or the print bed during the depositing of the composite material; and consolidating the composite material.
Hose
The present invention provides a hose excellent in mechanical properties at high temperatures. The hose of the present invention comprises a cross-linked fluororubber layer obtainable by cross-linking a fluororubber composition containing a fluororubber (A) and a carbon black (B). The cross-linked fluororubber layer has a loss modulus E″ of 400 kPa or higher and 6,000 kPa or lower determined by a dynamic viscoelasticity test (measurement temperature: 160° C., tensile strain: 1%, initial force: 157 cN, frequency: 10 Hz).
Bioabsorbable polymeric composition for a medical device
A crystallized bioabsorbable polymer scaffold comprises a polymer composition of poly (L-lactide-co-tri-methylene-carbonate) or poly (D-lactide-co-tri-methylene-carbonate) or poly (L-lactide-co-ε-caprolactone) or poly (D-lactide-co-ε-caprolactone) in the form of block copolymers of blocky copolymers, wherein the scaffold is cold-bendable.
BLOW MOLDED ARTICLE WITH VISUAL EFFECTS
A blow molded article obtained by blow molding of a preform made via parallel flow coinjection, having a wall formed by 3 layers in at least a region wherein the outside layer is transparent and the inner layer comprises an effect pigment visible through the transparent layer. Articles according to the invention have an improved gloss, low haze and higher resistance to delamination than previous articles. The invention relates also to preforms for making articles as described and to methods for making preforms and articles.
Spiral-welded polymer products with a cellular wall and thermoplastic profile for its production
The invention relates to production of long spiral-welded large polymer products, as required for pipelines production, chemical, oil and gas and petrochemical industries, agricultural complex and utility services. The object of the invention is to create variants of spiral-welded polymer product with a cellular wall, having the internal or external, or internal and external uniform smooth walls with little material consumption, weight and cost. It should allow making products on site due the use of a thin-walled, lightweight, flexible profile. The object is solved owing to fact that a long hollow thermoplastic profile is used in spiral-welded polymer products, wherein the cross-section of the profile has a form of a closed geometric figure with a convex part having essentially the semi-ring shape and flat part that are connected each other, forming the convex and flat parts of the external surface of the profile, respectively.
Polymeric tubes with controlled orientation
Methods for preparing oriented polymer tubes, such as biodegradable polymer tubes suitable for in vivo use, are provided herein. The disclosed methods provide alternatives to the typical extrusion/expansion methods by which oriented polymeric tubes for such uses are commonly produced. Advantageously, the disclosed methods can provide more homogeneous molecular orientation of crystallizable polymers within the tube walls, which can endow such polymeric tubes with enhanced strength (e.g., resistance to compression) and toughness.
MAGNETIC RESEAL
The invention is directed to a polymeric film web, a carrier film, and a magnetic member. The carrier film comprises an inner polyethylene terephthalate layer and an outer plastomer layer. The magnetic member and the carrier film are layered onto the polymeric film web to form a closure member. The outer plastomer layer is adjacent the magnetic member and the carrier film extends beyond an upper edge and/or a lower edge of the magnetic member. The closure is heat sealed such that the seal at the interface of the first carrier film and the second carrier film is a peelable seal, the seal at the interface of the first film web and the first carrier film is a permanent seal, and the seal at the interface of the second film web and the second carrier film is a permanent seal.
Tubular elements for smoking articles
There is provided a tubular element for use in the manufacture of a filter of a smoking article, the tubular element comprising a first and a second layer wound of substantially continuous strips of a cellulose-fibre-based web material. The strips have predetermined thickness (T) and width (W). The web material is coated on a first surface with an activatable polymer and the first surface of the web material in the first layer faces the first surface of the web material in the second layer. An external diameter of the tubular element is substantially uniform over a given length.
BLOW MOLDED ARTICLE WITH VISUAL EFFECTS
A blow molded multilayer article with a hollow body defined by a wall with an inner surface and an outer surface. The outer surface has an axial color gradient and/or a gloss gradient. The wall has multiple layers and at least one layer contains an effect pigment and/or an opacifying pigment.
