Vented dispensing device and method
Disclosed is a fluid dispensing device that includes at least one reservoir to hold the therapeutic fluid, at least one other unit requiring communication with ambient air, at least partly, to operate, and at least one housing defining an interior to retain the at least one reservoir and the at least one other unit. The at least one housing has at least one vent port formed on one or more of its walls. The at least one vent port is adapted to direct or communicate air to maintain pressure equilibrium between the air pressure in the interior of the at least one housing and the ambient air pressure outside the at least one housing, and provide communication with the ambient air to the at least one other unit requiring air to enable operation of the at least one other unit.
Gas removal apparatus and related methods
An apparatus having an outer wall that encompasses an interior chamber that holds a predetermined volume of fluid and gas where the gas rises to one end of the interior chamber and the fluid flows to the other end of the interior chamber. The apparatus also has an inlet port that allows for fluid to ingress into the interior chamber and an outlet port that allows for fluid to egress out of the interior chamber.
Syringe accessory for transfer of air sensitive materials
An apparatus, method, and article of manufacture for transferring fluid contained in a syringe. The apparatus includes an airlock component having a cylindrical body with a first end, a second end, and a hollow tube disposed between the first end and the second end. An annular opening is located at the first end of the cylindrical body. The hollow tube includes a gas inlet aperture and a gas outlet aperture. The hollow tube also includes an inwardly-facing airtight material coupled to the interior surface of the hollow tube, and a septum coupled to the second end of the cylindrical body.
