DETERMINATION OF A DOSE IN A MEDICATION DELIVERY DEVICE USING TWO MOVING ARRAYS WITH TEETH AND A SENSOR
20190151559 · 2019-05-23 ·

Sensing systems, devices and methods are disclosed for determining the relative movement of first and second members of a medication delivery device which are proportional to the amount of a dose set and/or delivered by operation of the medication delivery device. A sensor is coupled with the first member. A pair of targets is coupled with the second member. Each target comprises an array of teeth which move through an area sensed by the sensor. The sensor thereby detects characteristic values of a sensed parameter corresponding to the combined relative positions of the first and second members. The sensing system outputs this information to a processor which determines the amount of the dose set and/or delivered. Related medication delivery devices and methods are also disclosed.

Injection device having automatic needle retraction
10232121 · 2019-03-19 · ·

The present invention relates to an injection device for delivering set doses of a liquid drug to a user. The injection device has a scale drum for displaying the set dose, which scale drum is helically guided in a housing. The scale drum is thus rotational in relation to the housing between a zero position and a set position for displaying the set dose. Further, a needle cannula secured to a hub is mounted in an axially movable manner. The axial movement of the hub is generated by a spring. A blocking mechanism interacting between the scale drum and hub controls the axial movement of the hub such that the needle cannula automatically retracts from the skin of a user in response to the scale drum reaching the zero position.

OPENING AND SUPPLYING SYSTEM FOR PRE-FILLED CONTAINERS, RESPECTIVE FILLED CONTAINERS, AND METHODS FOR THEIR REALIZATION

The present invention relates to an opening and liquid supplying system (100) for pre-filled containers (10, 30) equipped with a supplying end, comprising a coupling element (20), connecting means (6) movable from a first position to a second position, and movable protection means (9); the coupling element (20) has an end (27) closed and suitable for being punched, and first guiding means (21) for guiding the movement of the connecting means (6) movable from the first position, close to the closed end (27), to the second position, apart from such end, and vice versa; the connecting means (6) have engaging means (7) for engaging with the protection means (9) so as to move integrally along a second degree of freedom, different than the first degree of freedom, and first matches (11) for the first guiding means (21).

The invention relates also to a respective pre-filled container equipped with such system and the method for realize them.

Dedicated cartridge

A cartridge assembly for use with a drug delivery device is specified. The cartridge assembly comprises a cartridge with a retention cap and a cartridge holder. According to one aspect, the cartridge and the cartridge holder may be configured to be fixed to each other in a predetermined position According to another aspect, the retention cap comprises at least one coding feature configured to affix said cartridge to said cartridge holder in the predetermined position by the mating of said coding feature with a corresponding coding feature on the cartridge holder.

Pen-shaped torsion spring driven injection device

The invention relates to a pen-shaped torsion spring driven injection device for apportioning set dose of a liquid drug. A piston rod having an external thread is driven forward by a rotatable piston rod guide engaging the piston rod. The piston rod guide is rotated by a torsion spring encompassed between the housing and the piston rod guide. A scale drum having a thread engaging the external thread of the piston rod is provided, and the scale drum is rotated up and down the piston rod by a proximal located rotatable dose setting member cooperating with the scale drum. The scale drum thus move helically when rotated as the piston rod is held inrotatable during dose setting.

ADMINISTRATION APPARATUS

Provided is an administration apparatus for administering a dosing liquid. The administration apparatus includes a storage unit storing the dosing liquid, a drive unit imparting administration energy and a pressurization unit pressurizing the stored dosing liquid with the administration energy. The administration apparatus also includes an injection unit injecting the pressurized liquid to an object region through an injection port. In a pressure transition of the dosing liquid at the injection port, a vibration in the pressure transition reaches a converged state from a rising time of pressure. Furthermore, a ratio of a peak value of an initial vibration element to a peak value of subsequent vibration elements other than the first vibration element is higher than 1 and equal to or lower than a prescribed first ratio. As a result, invasiveness to the object region during administration is reduced.

Drug Delivery Device with Priming Mechanism

The present invention relates to a drug delivery device for expelling a dose of drug from a held cartridge and that defines a distal drug outlet end and an opposite proximal end. The drug delivery device comprises: a distal housing component (110) holding a cartridge (113) comprising a liquid drug and a piston slideable arranged therein in an axial direction, and a proximal housing component (101) housing a dose setting and expelling mechanism comprising a piston rod for exerting a force on the piston of the cartridge (113) in a distal direction for expelling a dose. The distal housing component (110) and the proximal housing component (101) are displaceably arranged in axial direction relative to each other for reducing an axial distance between the piston rod (120) and the piston of the cartridge (113). One of the distal housing component (110) and the proximal housing component (101) comprises a threaded adjustment component (103) being held at an axial fixed location on said one of the distal housing component (110) and the proximal housing component (101) and defining a first thread (103b) being in threaded engagement with a second thread (110b) defined by the other of the distal housing component (110) and the proximal housing component (101). After displacement the threaded adjustment component (103) is rotatably fixated so that the adjustment component (103) cannot be rotated without the use of a tool.
