Coded cartridge holder and fastener enabled by cartridge size
A coded cartridge holder for use with a drug delivery device is provided. The cartridge holder includes a fastener that becomes operative based in part on a length of a cartridge or a diameter of the cartridge. In one embodiment, the cartridge holder is coupled to the drug delivery device. The cartridge holder comprises a first blocking feature. The drug delivery device includes a cartridge detector comprising a second blocking feature. This feature may be a pin, for engagement with the first blocking feature of the cartridge holder when the cartridge acts on the cartridge detector. The cartridge holder may further include a fastening mechanism configured to fasten the cartridge holder to the drug delivery device only when the second blocking feature engages the first blocking feature.
Medicament delivery device
A medicament delivery device includes a distal housing part; a proximal housing part for a container; a drive mechanism in the distal housing part that includes a plunger rod; and an auto mixing mechanism. The housing parts are movable from a first position, in which the housing parts are partially extended relative to each other, to a second position, in which the housing parts are partially retracted relative to each other. The auto mixing mechanism is configured to hold the housing parts in the first position and to lock the housing parts in the second position, and includes a mixing force member operably arranged between the housing parts such that manual activation of the auto mixing mechanism enables the mixing force member to cause the housing parts to move from the first position to the second position. The plunger rod acts to mixing a medicament in the container.
Needle insertion and retraction mechanism
A system and method are provided for preventing a sharp stick hazard from a needle tip of an automatic injector device. In some embodiments, a skin contact surface of the device is attached to an injection site, for example by an adhesive. Optionally a locking mechanism holds a needle extended into an injection site. A body of the device is optionally movably attached to the skin contact surface. Pulling the body away from the injection site optionally moves the body with respect to the skin contact surface. Movement of the body with respect to the skin contact surface optionally moves interlinked parts of the locking mechanism, releasing the locking mechanism.
Housing and Drug Delivery Device Herewith
The present disclosure is generally directed to a drug delivery device for selecting and dispensing a number of user variable doses of a medicament and to a housing for such a device. The housing comprises an outer housing with a distal end and a cartridge holder with a proximal end, which, when the cartridge holder is attached to the outer housing, is inserted into the distal end of the outer housing. The outer housing is provided with a first fixture for axially constraining a further component part to the outer housing. When the cartridge holder is attached to the outer housing, the proximal end of the cartridge holder axially extends to the first fixture.
Cartridge holder latch mating to axial through opening of bearing with central threaded opening
A drug delivery device for administering a predefined dose of a medicament comprising a housing is presented where the housing includes a body to accommodate a drive mechanism, a cartridge holder to accommodate a cartridge having a piston slidably disposed therein in an axial direction (z), and an interconnection between cartridge holder and body. The interconnection has, at least one displaceable or resiliently deformable latch element to mate with a corresponding bearing, and the latch element is displaceable or deformable in a direction (z, w) extending substantially parallel to a circumferential side wall of the body or cartridge holder.
Injection device for delivering a fixed dose of liquid drug
An injection device for delivering a predetermined fixed dose of liquid drug, comprising a base member, a piston rod a first tubular member, and a second tubular member.
Cartridge holder and pen-type injector
A cartridge holder for a drug delivery device is presented having snap fastening connection means to fasten the cartridge holder to a housing of the drug delivery device, wherein the fastening connection means are provided with at least on basically rectangular window for receiving a locking element of said housing. The invention is further directed to a pen-type injector equipped with a respective snap fastening connection for the cartridge holder.
Injection pen with dial back and last dose control
A medication injection pen is provided comprising a housing (218), for housing a dose set knob (220), a leadscrew (226), a driver (224), a setback member (222), and a dose stop member (228). The dose set knob (220) is rotatable with respect to said housing (218) to set a desired injection dose, and comprises at least one internal thread (291). The leadscrew (226) includes a thread element by which it is advanceable in a first direction via a corresponding thread engagement, said first direction being that which expels medication from a cartridge (36). The driver (224) is rotationally fixed to said leadscrew (226) for preventing relative rotation therebetween, said driver (224) being rotatable in a first direction to rotate and advance said leadscrew (226) in said first direction. The setback member (222) is rotationally fixed to said driver (224) for preventing relative rotation therebetween.
CARTRIDGE FIXATION FOR A DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
A housing for a drug delivery device for administrating a liquid drug from a cartridge includes a recess for accommodating a proximal portion of the cartridge and a deformable member arranged inside the recess. The deformable member includes a proximal end attached to the housing and a distal end movable within the recess. The deformable member is deformable from a non-deformed state to a deformed state by a displacement of the distal end. In the deformed state the deformable member is adapted to limit a movement of a cartridge in the longitudinal direction relative to the housing. The deformable member further includes an arch, and in the deformed state the arch is deformed both elastically and plastically.
Injector Pen Assembly
An injector pen is provided that includes a cartridge housing 2, a dose selector housing 10 and a nut 18 for coupling the two housings 2,10 together. The dose selector housing 10 defines an intermediate axial position, where the nut 18 can be temporarily retained in the dose selector housing 10 to form a sub-assembly suitable for transport to a different location. During final assembly of the injector pen, the cartridge housing 2 securely engages with the nut 18 and displaces the nut 18 from the intermediate axial position to a final axial position.
