Pre-filled disposable injection device
The present invention relates to a pre-filled disposable injection device and a needle cannula in combination. The prefilled disposable injection device (1) is made from a housing (2) containing a non-exchangeable cartridge (10) for storing a liquid drug sufficient for a number of injections. The proximal end of the pre-filled injection device (1) carries the dose setting button (3) and the distal end carries the needle cannula (20) having a lumen (21) through which the settable dose is expelled. The distal end (23) of the needle cannula (20) is covered by a telescopic needle covering shield (30) which shield (30) can operate between a first position covering the tip (24) of the needle cannula (20) and a second retracted position allowing an injection to be performed. The shield (30) carries a cleaner (50) which cleans at least the tip (24) of the needle cannula (20) between successive injections such that the prefilled injection device can be used without changing the needle cannula (20) during its life cycle.
Portable drug mixing and delivery device and associated methods
A portable auto-injector configured to store a dry medication separately from a liquid component, wherein removal of a cap operates a first actuation mechanism which opens a valve between a first and second chamber that are slidably movable relative to each other and thus allows for the initiation of a mixing step prior to injection. An extendable needle guard is provided over the delivery assembly which prevents premature injection as well as inadvertent sticks or other cross contamination of a needle. The needle guard can also form part of a secondary trigger mechanism which injects the mixed components after the mixing stage is complete.
Pen needle magazine
An attachable needle assembly (102) for use on a medication delivery pen (104), the needle assembly (102) comprising a housing (1 10) enclosing a hub (106) having a communication needle (108) configured to engage the medication delivery pen (104) and pierce a reservoir septum of the medication delivery pen (104), a communication septum (172, 176) of the needle assembly (102) defining a septum chamber (180, 182) that is in fluid communication with the communication needle (108), a plurality of needles (118) disposed in the communication septum (172, 176), a follower ring (130) that determines which needle (124) of the plurality of needles (118) is to be selected, and a snap ring (136) that exposes the selected needle (124) and moves the selected needle (124) in fluid communication with the septum chamber (180, 182), wherein when the housing (110) is in a first position, the plurality of needles (118) is not exposed, and when the housing (110) is in a second position, the selected needle (124) is in fluid communication with the septum chamber (180, 182) and exposed for medicament delivery.
System and method for aseptic packaging of a drug delivery device components
A method for sterilizing a drug delivery device may comprise disposing a liquid drug container, a needle conduit and a cap in a sterilization enclosure so that a mouth portion of the liquid drug container is registered with, and spaced apart from, a circumferential lip of the cap; disposing a cover over the liquid drug container, the needle conduit, and the cap, sealing the sterilization enclosure; subjecting the interior of the sterilization enclosure to a sterilization process in which the liquid drug container, the needle conduit, and the cap are exposed to the sterilization fluid and are sterilized; and applying a downward force to the liquid drug container to move the mouth portion into engagement with the circumferential lip of the cap and to snap the cap onto the liquid drug container to seal the cap and needle conduit to the liquid drug container in an assembled configuration.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PRE-FILLED DUAL-CHAMBER MEDICAL AGENT DELIVERY
A pre-filled dual-chamber medical agent delivery system assembled and configured to allow delivery of a single dose of a combined therapeutic agent (e.g., vaccine, drug, medicament, etc.) from a Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) vial to a patient. The delivery assembly generally includes a modular design consisting of separately constructed components cooperatively arranged and coupled to one another, such as to facilitate delivery of a reconstituted lyophilized agent to a patient.
Syringe for mixing two components and for retaining a vacuum in a storage condition
A syringe for mixing two substances which have been retained separately inside the syringe is described, for instance in a storage condition. The syringe is used for 1) retaining a dry composition in a vacuum, and 2) mixing the dry composition with an aqueous medium to form a flowable substance. One embodiment, a syringe for retaining and mixing first and second substances comprises a barrel comprising a sealable and/or closable distal outlet and a vacuum chamber for holding a first substance, a plunger incorporating a reservoir chamber for holding a second substance and configured to be axially displaced through a proximal end of the barrel, a membrane separating the vacuum chamber and the reservoir chamber, and a pointed member, such as one or more needles, for penetrating the membrane, wherein the syringe is configured such that the membrane and the pointed member are axially slidable in relation to each other.
Medicament injection device
A medicament injection device includes a main body configured to receive a medicament cartridge sealed by a penetrable barrier, a cap assembly having an inner needle part and an outer needle part, wherein the inner needle part is movable in a proximal direction with respect to the outer needle part, a needle carrier carrying a needle, the needle carrier being releasably coupled to the inner needle part, wherein, when the inner needle part is displaced in the proximal direction, the inner needle part causes the needle carrier to be displaced axially in the proximal direction, and wherein, subsequent to the axial displacement of the inner needle part, the cap assembly is separable from the main body by movement of the cap assembly in a distal direction.
Sterile protective cover comprising a device for opthalmic delivery
Described herein does a sterile protective cover comprise an intracameral therapeutic agent delivery device in the form of a pen-injector comprising a cartridge container for dispensing multiple doses of a medicament, coupled to an actuation assembly within a housing. A needle assembly is coupled to the distal end of the cartridge container, provided with a removable cap received within the housing will be in optional pre-sterile or no-sterile condition. Use of such device for the prevention or treatment of ocular conditions or diseases is also disclosed. A sterile protective cover comprising ophthalmic device, wherein the sterile protective cover is made of plastic, polythene, polyethylene, resin, rubber, polystyrene, polypropylene, polycarbonate, nylon, or combination thereof. More, particularly the present invention relates to a novel ophthalmic device of reduced length and diameter in the form of a pen-injector for precise and controlled delivery of different doses of a therapeutic agent by introducing a unique Pen grip for the device. The present invention also depicts a novel ophthalmic device comprising a multimode power on-off button that would also work with a Pulse mode to deliver a fixed quantity of medicament and also double up as a speed control to control the rate of injection and might be used with dermal filler.
Delivery system for delivering medical and pharmaceutical compounds
A delivery system for medical and pharmaceutical compounds includes a container, a closure element, a supporting element and a penetration element. The container contains the compounds and has a closed container bottom and an open second end. The closure element makes fluid-tight contact with the inner wall of the container. The supporting element attaches to the closure element. The penetration element has a hollow needle and moves along the longitudinal axis of the container. The penetration element includes a first link motion portion, and the supporting element includes a second link motion portion. The first link motion portion has a guiding groove, and the second link motion portion has a projection. The hollow needle of the penetration element moves towards the container bottom and penetrates the closure element.
