Luer connection adapters for retractable needle syringes
A connector mountable to a syringe barrel has a proximal barrel-engaging portion, a distal luer fitment portion, and a fluid aperture therethrough. The barrel-engaging portion of the connector includes an axial ledge configured to abut the axial distal edge of a glass syringe barrel. The connector facilitates mounting a luer assembly to the barrel. The luer assembly may be a tip cap having a complementary luer fitment for connection to the luer fitment portion of the connector. The luer assembly may be a luer needle assembly having a complementary luer fitment for connection to the luer fitment portion of the connector. The connector and syringe may further include an immobile, compressible needle seal. The needle seal is adjacent to or engageable with the barrel-engaging portion of the connector. The syringe may be configured with a plunger capable of engaging a retractable needle.
Syringe closure
The invention relates to a syringe closure for a syringe having a basic body, a terminal extension that extends from the basic body, which has a free end and a base arranged on the basic body. A recess is provided on the extension at a distance from its free end. The syringe closure for closing off the syringe can be attached in such a way on its extension via its free end that the syringe closure overlaps at least one recess of the extension. The syringe closure is characterized by a locking device having at least one locking element, which assumes a release position in a first functional position after the attachment of the syringe closure on the extension, and ensures a positive engagement with at least one recess on the extension in a second functional position, the locking position, and thus lockingly holds the syringe closure on the extension.
Luer connection adapters for syringes
A connector mountable to a syringe barrel has a proximal barrel-engaging portion, a distal luer fitment portion, and a fluid aperture therethrough. The barrel-engaging portion of the connector includes an axial ledge configured to abut the axial distal edge of a glass syringe barrel. An enteral dosing control coupling comprising a cylindrical collar defining a hollow internal chamber and a lumen extension tip projecting axially into the internal chamber, the lumen extension tip defining an internal lumen extending therethrough. In example forms, the lumen extension tip is integrally formed with the cylindrical collar. In other example forms, the lumen extension tip is a separate piece and is removably engageable within the cylindrical collar. Provided herein is a prefilled syringe including a syringe barrel having a proximal end and a distal end and defining a chamber, the syringe barrel having an opening at the proximal end. The prefilled syringe also includes a plunger assembly inserted through the opening and axially movable within the chamber of the syringe barrel, with the plunger assembly further including a plunger rod having an elongated body extending between a proximal end and a distal end and a stopper attached to the distal end of plunger rod and positioned within the barrel chamber. The stopper is composed of a blended material including an elastomeric material and an intermixed material having a coefficient of thermal expansion lower than the elastomeric material.
UNIVERSAL STERILIZING TOOL
The sterilizing tool is configured to wipe debris from and to sterilize and/or dry a working end-site of medical device; using a wiping, twisting, dabbing, push/pull, and/or screwing motion around all of the surface aspects of the device to be sterilized. Additionally, the sterilizing tool is configured to form fit to the surfaces of the end-site and to apply an inclusive layer of an anti-pathogenic agent to the inner and outer surfaces of the working end-site. The sterilizing tool may be frictionally engaged with and retained on the working end-site until removed and the end-site is ready for use. The sterilizing tool is intended for a one time, single use, disposable application.

SYRINGE WITH TWO-STAGE SEALING PRESSURE
A syringe includes a barrel, a plunger, and a sealing member creating a seal between the plunger and the barrel. The barrel includes a first portion with a first inner diameter and a second portion with a second inner diameter that is larger than the first inner diameter. The sealing member engages the first portion of the barrel to give rise to a first contact pressure when the barrel is filled with product. The first contact pressure is sufficient to maintain a gas-tight seal over the expected temperature ranges 25 C. to 40 C. A first force is applied to the plunger to overcome the first contact pressure and move the plunger out of the first portion and into the second portion to dispense product. The sealing member engages the second portion of the barrel to give rise to a second contact pressure that is lower than the first contact pressure. A second force lower than the first force is sufficient to overcome the second contact pressure and move the plunger in the second portion to continue dispensing product. The syringe may include a restraining element for accommodating expansion of the product during freezing.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR AUTOFLUSH SYRINGES
Described herein are syringe devices, systems and methods. In general, the syringe may include a first chamber and a cartridge movable within the first chamber. The cartridge may include a cartridge chamber and a valve in fluid communication with the cartridge chamber and the first chamber and having an open configuration and a closed configuration. The valve may allow movement of a liquid out of the cartridge chamber while in a open configuration. The cartridge may also include a second end, movable within the cartridge chamber, and a locking mechanism having a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration, the locking mechanism preventing movement of the second end within the cartridge chamber while in the locked configuration.
