A cartridge for use with a beneficial agent delivery device having a tillable reservoir. The cartridge includes a reconstitution, unit dose package having first and second compartments and a fitment. The first compartment contains at least a first constituent of the beneficial agent. The second compartment contains at least a second constituent of the beneficial agent. The fitment is disposed on the package for interfacing the package to the tillable reservoir.

Medication container having an end plug, use of a plug-securing part to secure an end plug in a medication container and plug-securing part

A medicament container for a syringe or carpule has a base body surrounding an interior at least in sections. The base body has a central axis and a proximal opening. An end plug is arranged in the interior such that the end plug in the interior is displaceable along the central axis and separates a first proximal region of the interior from a second distal region of the interior. A plug securing part is at least partially insertable into the second region through the proximal opening. When inserted into the interior, the plug securing part is arranged closer to the proximal opening than the end plug and is fixedly held in the interior by the positive and/or non-positive connection at least in a holding area.

ASSEMBLY FOR A CARTRIDGE NEEDLE INSERTION MECHANISM

An assembly for a cartridge needle insertion mechanism includes a housing, a cartridge needle defining a cartridge needle axis and a cartridge closed by a septum. A cartridge needle slider is linearly guided by the housing along an insertion axis to be moved by a driver from a first position, where the cartridge needle is not penetrating the septum, to a second position where the cartridge needle penetrates the septum of the cartridge. A cartridge needle holder holding the cartridge needle is operatively coupled with the cartridge needle slider to be moved with the cartridge needle slider from the first to the second position. The assembly includes a compliant coupling between the cartridge needle holder and the cartridge needle slider configured to facilitate movement of the cartridge needle holder with respect to the slider when moved into the second position, thereby compensating for needle penetration forces.

DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE

There is provided drug delivery devices comprising a drug container assembly with a needle and automatic needle insertion and drug delivery mechanisms. Aspects of the devices described include a noise-generation mechanism to indicate the completion of drug delivery, a mechanism for triggering drug delivery following needle insertion, front-end activation of the device and a safety mechanism for covering the needle after use and methods of assembly of the devices.

Syringe Having Pivoting Arm Plunger Rod

A syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel having a first end, a second end, and a sidewall extending between the first end and the second end. The syringe assembly further includes a stopper disposed within a chamber of the syringe barrel, a plunger adapter engaged with the stopper, and a plunger rod having first and second ends. The first end of the plunger rod is pivotally secured to the plunger adapter. The plunger rod has a pre-use position where the second end of the plunger rod is positioned adjacent to the syringe barrel, and a use position where the plunger rod is configured to displace the stopper relative to the syringe barrel. A recessed portion of the plunger adapter receives a portion of the first end of the plunger rod when the plunger rod is in the pre-use position and the use position.

CONVERTIBLE PLUNGERS AND METHODS FOR ASSEMBLING THE SAME IN A MEDICAL BARREL

Disclosed are plunger assemblies including various convertible plungers and methods of making the same. Each plunger assembly is configured for disposition within a barrel of a medical container, e.g., a syringe, and displaced within the barrel from an engagement position to a release position. The engagement position is configured to provide a compression seal between a storage sealing section of the plunger and an inner wall of the syringe barrel. In the release position, the compression seal is reduced or eliminated. Also disclosed are methods for making convertible plungers and assembling them into syringes, e.g., pre-filled syringes.

BIOSTATIC MULTI-USE NEEDLE ASSEMBLY FOR AN INJECTION DEVICE

A multi-use needle assembly (200) for an injection device (50), wherein the injection device (50) comprises: a housing (52) and a cartridge (54) for storing a liquid drug for multiple injections, the multi-use needle assembly comprises: a support structure (201), needle cannula (210), a movable shield assembly comprising a movable shield (220) and an actuation member (222) fixed to the shield (220), and a cleaning assembly (230) adapted to change configuration by deformation. The shield (220) is adapted to be in a locked distal position, an unlocked distal position and an unlocked proximal position, and the cleaning assembly (230) is adapted to be configured in (i) an open configuration, wherein a gap is provided between an outer surface of the cannula (210) and the cleaning assembly (230) to allow adjustment of the relative axial position between the cleaning assembly and the cannula, (ii) a closed configuration, wherein the cleaning assembly (230) is configured to provide contact with the outer surface of the cannula to enable cleaning of the cannula. The actuation member (222) is adapted to deform and thereby operate the cleaning assembly (230) between the open and the closed configuration, in response to turning the shield between the unlocked and the locked configuration. The needle assembly (200) is adapted to enable cleaning of the cannula (210), when the shield (220) is in the locked distal position, and to allow exposure of the cannula (210), when the shield (220) is in the unlocked distal position.
