Buffering agent cartridge
A cartridge for dispensing a pre-measured buffering agent together with a medical fluid such as dental anesthetic. The cartridge includes a sharp piercing element at one end, a frangible barrier proximate the piercing element, and a traveling closure. The buffering solution is in a chamber between the barrier and the closure. When loaded into a syringe and subjected to operating pressures, the barrier is pierced, enabling the buffering solution to mix with the medical fluid. Continued pressure propels a desired, controlled mixture into a tissue of a patient. A dye may be included for visual confirmation of mixing. The invention may be regarded as the cartridge, a syringe having the cartridge, or a kit, with or without a syringe, or cartridges having closures of different types.
Insertion Mechanism with Automatic Activation
An insertion mechanism for a drug delivery device including a reservoir and a pump configured to deliver fluid from the reservoir includes a fluid path configured to be in fluid communication with the reservoir, an activation member in fluid communication with the fluid path, and an energy storage member connected to the activation member. The energy storage member has a stored state and a released state, where the energy storage member transitions from the stored state to the released state when fluid from the reservoir contacts the activation member.
Bone cement applicator with pipe line element and closure receptacle
One aspect relates to a device for producing a bone cement paste from a monomer liquid and a cement powder and for delivering the bone cement paste, the device having a cartridge with a cylindrical interior, the interior of the cartridge being closed at the front side apart from a delivery opening for discharging the bone cement paste from the interior. A delivery plunger is arranged in the interior of the cartridge and mounted so as to be pushable in the direction of the delivery opening. The cement powder is arranged in the interior of the cartridge between the delivery opening and the delivery plunger. A closure closes the delivery opening and is mounted so as to be movable relative to the delivery opening. A line element is arranged at the front side of the delivery opening and includes a closure receptacle for receiving at least part of the closure. The closure is pushable into the closure receptacle by pressure on the bone cement paste such that the delivery opening is opened, when the closure has been pushed into the closure receptacle, the line element provides a free line cross-section through which the bone cement paste is pushable out through the delivery opening and out of the device.
DELAY DEVICE FOR A MEDICAL ADMINISTRATION APPLIANCE
A piston rod unit for a device for administering a medical substance delays a release of a mechanism of the device and includes an outer piston rod with a hollow space and a contact face for interacting with a stopper to discharge the substance, and an inner piston rod mounted in the outer piston rod to form a cavity at the distal end of the outer piston rod. The cavity contains a viscous fluid and a fluid displacement element located at least partially in the cavity that is operably or integrally connected to the inner piston rod. During relative movement between the fluid displacement element and the outer piston rod, fluid displacement causes movement resistance, such that mechanism release is delayed. The outer piston rod includes a distal, first piston rod part, comprising the contact face and the cavity, and a second piston rod part adjoining the first.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SAFETY SYRINGE
A method for preparing a pre-filled multi-chamber injection system includes providing an injection system body, the injection system body defining an open proximal end, a body interior, and an open distal end. The method also includes introducing a first substance into a distal end of the body interior. The method further includes disposing a distal stopper member in the body interior, the distal stopper member and the injection system body defining proximal and distal chambers in the body interior. Moreover, the method includes introducing a second substance into the body interior. In addition, the method includes disposing a proximal stopper member in the body interior. The method also includes inserting an elongate member at least partially into the body interior, the elongate member having a plurality of flow channels for fluidly coupling the proximal and distal chambers. The method further includes coupling a plunger member to the proximal stopper member.
Cartridge for containing and dispensing a medicament
A cartridge for containing and dispensing a medicament, the cartridge including a cartridge body having an interior cavity therein, a stopper movably disposed within the interior cavity, and a septum disposed at an opposite end of the interior cavity from the stopper, for containing the medicament within the interior cavity. The cartridge also includes a connection thread integrally formed as a unitary construction of the cartridge body, the thread being disposed at a first end of the cartridge body for connecting a pen needle directly to the cartridge body to pierce the septum and provide communication between the medicament and a patient end of the pen needle.
SEALANT SYRINGE ASSEMBLY
The present invention relates to a sealant syringe assembly. An aspect of the present invention may provide a sealant syringe assembly comprising: a first syringe including a plurality of chambers and discharging a first solution which is a mixture of a buffer solution and compound powder; a reaction solution syringe including at least one chamber and discharging a reaction solution capable of reacting with the first solution; a base in which the first syringe and the reaction solution syringe are stably seated; and a connector for connecting the first syringe and the reaction solution syringe to mix and discharge the first solution and the reaction solution, wherein the first solution and the reaction solution react with each other to thus have a changed property such that a shear storage modulus exceeds a shear loss modulus, and the first syringe includes: three packing members provided inside the first syringe; a passage provided in the inner circumferential surface of the first syringe; and a plunger for providing a pressure to one of the packing members, wherein a buffer solution is provided to a chamber of one side provided between the three packing members, and compound powder is a provided to a chamber of the other side provided between the three packing members.
SYSTEM AND METHOD TO PROVIDE A CONTRAST AGENT
A liquid delivery device contains a liquid saturated with a gas in a pressure chamber pressurized to a selected amount. The liquid delivery device may be removed from the pressure chamber to deliver the saturated liquid to a volume.
DRIVE APPARATUS FOR INJECTION DEVICES
An injection device includes: a housing with a product container in which a stopper with a bearing face can be moved to a stopper end position and which, proximally to the stopper end position, has a minimum product container cross section; a drive configured to move the stopper, which includes a plunger rod with a drive face that contacts the bearing face; a plunger rod guide is arranged outside the product container and guides the plunger rod, with a plunger rod guide cross section adapted to a plunger rod cross section. The product container only incompletely guides movement of the plunger rod and the plunger rod cross section is not prevented from moving in a tilting direction by the minimum product container cross section, and a plunger rod centering aid a distal end of the plunger rod limits the movement of the plunger rod in the tilting direction.
