The invention relates to an apparatus (2, 3), comprising a mating unit (20-1, 20-2) for releasably attaching the apparatus (2) to a medical device (1) or for releasably receiving at least a part of the medical device (1). The apparatus (2, 3) further comprises one or more optical sensors (25, 26) and/or one or more acoustical sensors (27) for determining information related to a condition and/or use of the medical device (1). The invention further relates to a system comprising such an apparatus (2, 3) and such a medical device (1), to a method (500, 600, 700) and a computer program (61) for determining information related to a condition and/or use of such a medical device (1), and to a computer-readable medium (60) storing such a computer program (61).
Clicker arrangement and drug delivery device herewith
The present disclosure is generally directed to a clicker arrangement for use in a drug delivery device, i.e. a handheld injection device for selecting and dispensing a number of user variable doses of a medicament. The clicker arrangement comprises a first element rotatable at least in a first direction and a second, non-rotatable element. The first element is axially displaceable relative to the second element between a first position and a second position. One of the elements comprises a clicker arm and the other comprises a protrusion wherein upon rotation of the first element in the first direction relative to the second element the clicker arm is elastically deflectable in a radial direction by the protrusion and relaxable in the opposite radial direction upon disengagement with the protrusion thereby generating an audible and/or tactile feedback signal.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COLLECTING INJECTION INFORMATION
A system for measuring injection of a liquid medicine includes a syringe body having proximal and distal ends, a syringe interior, and a syringe flange at the proximal end thereof. The system also includes a stopper member disposed in the syringe interior. The system further includes a plunger member coupled to the stopper member and configured to be manipulated to insert the stopper member distally in the syringe interior relative to the syringe body. Moreover, the system includes a needle coupled to the syringe body at the distal end thereof. In addition, the system includes a sensor flange removably coupled to a syringe body. The sensor flange includes a sensor to measure an injection characteristic and a processor to analyze the injection characteristic to determine an occurrence of an injection event.
Collapsible Syringe Barrel Disinfection Cap
Flush syringe assemblies are described herein. Such flush syringe assembly may include a collapsible syringe barrel including a corrugated side wall defining a chamber, a closed proximal end, a distal end having a distal wall with an elongate tip extending distally therefrom having a passageway therethrough in fluid communication with said chamber, a pre-selected amount of sterile fluid in the chamber, and a locking element. A collar may be disposed on the distal wall of the barrel and surrounding the elongate tip. An absorbent material and disinfectant or antimicrobial agent may be disposed in a compartment of the collar.
MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICES WITH WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY AND COMPLIANCE DETECTION
A computer-implemented method includes receiving a signal associated with a characteristic of an actuation event of a medicament delivery device. The method includes establishing a communications link (e.g., via a short-range wireless protocol), between a mobile computing device and a medicament delivery device. A wireless first signal associated with a first motion profile of the medicament delivery device is then received from the medicament delivery device. A second signal associated with a second motion profile of the mobile computing device is generated. The method then includes producing a notification via the mobile computing device when A) a magnitude of the first motion profile is outside of a first threshold and B) a magnitude of the second motion profile is outside of a second threshold.
PREFILLED DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE WITH REDUCED AIR GAP
A method of assembling a drug delivery device, comprising the steps of: inserting a piston rod in a nut portion of a cartridge assembly and rotating the piston rod until the piston rod distal end engages the cartridge piston, mounting a drive member on the piston rod in a rota-tional position being closest to a pre-determined rotational position, and rotating the drive member to the pre-determined rotational position.
Delivery Of Esketamine For The Treatment Of Depression
The present invention provides devices and methods for treating depression in a patient, comprising administering to the patient in need of the treatment a therapeutically effective amount of esketamine. In some embodiments, the depression is major depressive disorder or treatment resistant depression. In other embodiments, the therapeutically effective amount is clinically proven safe and/or effective. Also provided are methods to mitigate the risk or misuse or abuse of esketamine, instructions for use of the esketamine product, and methods for selling a drug product containing esketamine.
Medicament injection device
A medicament injection device comprising: a needle holder holding a needle, a pivotable cartridge holder, the pivotable cartridge holder being pivotable from an open state to a closed state, wherein the pivotable cartridge holder is arranged to receive a medicament cartridge in the open state, and wherein the needle holder is axially movable towards the pivotable cartridge holder when the pivotable cartridge holder is in the closed state.
CONTROLLING INSULIN DELIVERY TO A SPECIFIC USER BY A MEDICAL DEVICE BASED ON DETECTED EVENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE SPECIFIC USER
Methods, systems and computer-readable media are provided for controlling insulin delivery to a specific user by a medical device based on detected events associated with the specific user. An event combination or combination of the detected events can be determined and a database of classified outputs corresponding to event combinations can be accessed. A classified output corresponding to the event combination can be retrieved. A controller of the medical device can generate, based on the classified output, controller tuning instructions that influence delivery of insulin via the medical device to either decrease the insulin delivery to the specific user, increase the insulin delivery to the specific user, or maintain the insulin delivery to the specific user at the ordinary level by maintaining the insulin delivery in a nominal state.
Drive Mechanisms Suitable for Use in Drug Delivery Devices
A drive mechanism suitable for use in drug delivery devices is disclosed. The drive mechanism may be used with injector-type drug delivery devices, such as those permitting a user to set the delivery dose. The drive mechanism may include a housing, a dose dial sleeve, and a drive sleeve. A clutch is configured to permit rotation of the drive sleeve and the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are coupled through the clutch. Conversely, when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are in a de-coupled state, rotation of the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing is permitted and rotation of the drive sleeve with respect to the housing is prevented. In the de-coupled state, axial movement of the drive sleeve transfers force in a longitudinal direction for actuation of a drug delivery device.
