A receptacle for single-handedly uncapping, recapping and disposing a syringe's needle cap and needle head. The receptacle may include a receptacle unit with first and second ends and a base connected to the second end of the receptacle unit. The receptacle unit may, from its first end to its said second end, a hollow opening. The receptacle unit may, from its first end to its second end, include a wall channel. The wall channel may, at its second end be dimensioned to snugly engage the syringe's needle cap. Additionally, the wall channel may include a device for snuggly engaging a needle cap circumferential ridge and a needle head circumferential ridge.
Needle changing apparatus
An apparatus is disclosed for storing and changing needles for connection with a medicament delivery device, comprising an inner housing, a reservoir disposed within the inner housing, and a needle holder disposed within the inner housing, for fluidly connecting a medicament container of the medicament delivery device with the reservoir. The apparatus also includes a plurality of patient needles displaceably disposed on the needle holder, and an outer housing displaceably disposed about the inner housing and providing a user interface to individually select one of the plurality of patient needles, connect the selected needle with the reservoir, expose the selected needle outside of the apparatus for injection, and store the selected needle.
MEDICAL CONSUMABLE STORAGE, DISPENSING, AND DISPOSAL SYSTEM
A suture storage, dispensing, and disposal device is disclosed. The device provides a method for storing sutures or other medical consumables, dispensing the sutures or other medical consumables, and disposing of used sutures or other medical consumables.
Medicament delivery device comprising a locking mechanism
A medicament delivery device includes a tubular housing having opposite proximal and distal ends; an injection drive configured to exert force on a medicament container to expel medicament; and an injection drive holder configured to releasably hold the injection drive in a pre-tensioned state before injection of the medicament. The injection drive holder includes a tubular extension part for receiving the injection drive to be axially movable therein and a release ring coaxially arranged on the tubular extension part, the release ring being axially movable between proximal and distal positions along the outer surface of the tubular extension part. The tubular extension part is configured to engage with the injection drive when the release ring is at the proximal position and release the injection drive as the release ring moves distally from the proximal position.
IDENTIFICATION OF A HYPODERMIC NEEDLE ASSEMBLY
A needle assembly for a hypodermic syringe is disclosed herein. In various aspects, the needle assembly includes a hub and a needle. A bond secures the needle to the hub, and the bond is configured to break allowing the needle to be withdrawn entirely from the hub upon application of a selected axial force to the needle, in various aspects. The axial force may be less than the tensile strength of the needle. Related methods of use of the needle assembly apparatus are disclosed herein. This Abstract is presented to meet requirements of 37 C.F.R. 1.72(b) only. This Abstract is not intended to identify key elements of the apparatus and the related methods disclosed herein or to delineate the scope thereof.
THREE POSITION NEEDLE RETRACTION
In some embodiments a system and method are described for safeguarding a hazard, the hazard, for example a needle point, may be moved between a protected retracted position, an active extended position and/or an intermediate position. Optionally in the retracted position, the hazard may be protected inside a housing. Optionally in the extended position, the hazard may be exposed. Optionally, in the intermediate position the hazard may be partially protected and/or concealed, for example by a shield and/or in an indentation. In some embodiments, compromising a shield causes the hazard to be retracted to the retracted position.
Carriers for Collecting Biological Samples
A carrier can comprise a case that defines an interior volume, a supply tray that defines a plurality of supply compartments, and a sample tray that defines one or more sample compartments and comprises a thermally-insulative material. The supply tray and the sample tray and each be removably coupled to the case in the interior volume.
Waste Disposal System And Waste Receiver For Receiving And Disposing Of Pharmaceutical Waste Material
A waste disposal system with a waste receiver for receiving pharmaceutical waste material. A locking assembly is secured to a fixed surface and actuated from a locked configuration to an unlocked configuration. A lock cylinder of the locking assembly may extend forward of a front wall of a receiver body of the waste receiver to engage a locking feature of the cover in the locked configuration. A cover retention feature may prevent axial decoupling of the cover from the receiver body. An engagement feature is moved to be disengaged from the receiver body, and the receiver body is moved away from the fixed surface to disengage the locking assembly from the cover. The cover is decoupled from the cover retention feature, and coupled with the receiver body to seal the pharmaceutical waste material. The locking assembly may be removed from a lock passageway for disposal of the waste receiver.
PEN NEEDLE MAGAZINE
An attachable needle assembly (2) used on a medication delivery pen (4), the needle assembly (2) comprising a communication needle (10) configured to pierce a reservoir septum of the medication delivery pen (4), a spike housing (8) surrounding the communication needle (10) and configured to engage the medication delivery pen (4), a selector ring (16), including a selector opening (18), enclosing a septum (22, 30) of the needle assembly (2) defining a septum chamber (28, 29) that is in fluid communication with the communication needle (10), a plurality of needles (34) disposed in the septum (22, 30) of the needle assembly (2), and a peel tab (60) enclosing each of the plurality of needles (34), wherein the selector opening (18) is aligned with a selected peel tab (60) corresponding to a selected needle (40), the selected peel tab (60) is drawn out of the selector ring (16) and moves the selected needle (40) from a first position to a second position, and the selected needle (40) enters into fluid communication with the communication needle (10) in the second position.
