PRE-FILLED PLASTIC SYRINGE CONTAINING A VEGF ANTAGONIST
The present invention relates to a pre-filled syringe containing a VEGF antagonist and comprising a plastic barrel which is silicone-free, kits comprising this syringe and the use of the syringe for the administration of a VEGF antagonist in the treatment of ocular diseases.
Adjustable stepped cannula
The use of stepped cannulas, wherein a step structure creates a backstop to reduce backflow along the cannula body, is known for convection enhanced delivery of agents to the brain and other structures within an animal. Described herein are novel and improved stepped cannula designs wherein the length of the cannula segment between the step and the dispensing outlet is variable and can be controllably adjusted inside the patient during delivery. This advantageously allows the operator to place the cannula step at the optimal position and deliver agents at one or more positions within the target structure.
INFILTRATION CANNULA WITH DUAL ANGLE CONFIGURATION
A blunt-tipped cannula needle for injection of fluid into the subcutaneous tissue around a vein. The cannula needle includes a tubular side wall having three straight sections, each section having a central axis. The second central axis is angled away from the first central axis at a first preselected angle in a first plane. The third central axis is angled away from the second central axis at a combination of a preselected second angle and a preselected third angle, such that the third central axis is effectively angled away from the second central axis both at the second angle in the first plane and at the third angle in a second plane perpendicular to the first plane. A distal end section of the needle in the third straight section has a plurality of apertures that at least substantially face the second central axis.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR BENDING A NEEDLE
Methods and devices for bending a needle are provided. A device embodiment can include a needle bending apparatus for imparting a bend in a needle when a needle is received therein. The needle bending apparatus may include a housing having an aperture for receiving a shaft of a needle; and at least one abutment member comprising a needle interfacing surface for supporting a portion of the needle and providing a surface upon which the needle may be bent.
CANNULAS FOR SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING MICRODOSES OF MEDICATION
Devices, systems, and methods are provided herein for delivering medication (e.g., insulin) via a wearable pump having a patch-style form factor for adhesion to a user's body. The reusable pump may be coupled to a disposable cap housing a microdosing system for delivering precise, repeatable doses of medication to a cannula configured to deliver medication to a target infusion area beneath the user's outer skin layer. The system further may include an applicator for inserting the cannula into the user's skin and/or applying an adhesive pad to the skin.
FLEXIBLE NEEDLE
An exemplary needle defines a lumen and includes a proximal portion and a distal portion. The proximal portion defines a first port of the lumen, the distal portion defines at least one second port of the lumen, and the lumen extends between and connects the first port and the at least one second port. The distal portion also defines a tip portion configured for insertion into patient skin. In certain embodiments, the distal portion includes a compressible region including at least one slit. In certain embodiments, the distal portion includes an opening and a ramp configured to urge patient tissue within the distal portion toward the opening during insertion of the distal portion into patient tissue. In certain embodiments, the needle is formed of nitinol.
NEEDLE DEVICES FOR ACCESSING LYMPH NODES AND THORACIC DUCTS
Needle devices for accessing lymph nodes and thoracic ducts. A needle device for insertion into a lymph node and secured after access to the lymph node is described. The needle can aspirate or introduce fluids through a needle aperture in the needle sidewall. The needle may be curved. The needle device may also have a channel for fluids. The channel can have an aperture in the sidewall or be a separate channel alongside the lumen and have a distal aperture. Securing the needle can be accomplished via a hook, spiraling element, balloon or glue, which can be introduced via an open needle tip or a channel aperture. The spiraling element may be attached to a drive configured to rotate the spiraling element.
Field-Chargeable Transcutaneous Drug Delivery System
An automatic needle insertion device assists patients who may be uncomfortable with placing the needle themselves and employs a soft outer needle inserted using a rigid stylet, for example, a standard hypodermic needle, which is then removed after the soft needle is placed, greatly reducing irritation. An ambulatory pump can be filled with a variety of drugs and different amounts of drug on demand, for example, using a syringe prior to use.
Hybrid blunt cannula with puncture needle assembly
A hybrid blunt cannula with puncture needle assembly provides an outer cannula member comprising a needle channel, an eye, a stopper member disposed at the second end of the cannula member, and an inner needle disposed inside the needle channel and coupled to buttons. The buttons follow a translation path between a static position and an insertion position. The static position enables the free end of inner needle to be proximal to the second end of the outer cannula member, and within the needle channel. The insertion position enables the free end of the inner needle to be proximal to second end of the outer cannula member and partially outside of the outer needle's channel. The free end of inner needle is operable to penetrate the stopper member while in insertion position for discharge of a liquid through the eye.
Devices and methods for installation and removal of a needle tip of a needle
The present disclosure provides medical devices, particularly medical grade needles with removable tips, as well as methods of needle tip installation and removal, and devices therefor. Needle tip installation and removal devices may include needle tip installation and removal tools and kits, including hand held and manipulated tools that facilitate the installation and removal of needle tips, particularly on vascular access port needles. Such installation and removal devices may provide more expedient hook up of the access port for the therapy. Also, the installation and removal of the needle tips may be conducted in a more sterile manner.
