Needle assembly

A needle assembly is disclosed, which includes a needle protection member and a rotor. The rotor has a rotor body and a restriction portion. When the needle protection member in the initial state is displaced from the protection position to a use position and returns to a protection position, the restriction portion is displaced from the initial position to the lock position by the rotation of the rotor body with respect to the needle protection member. A needle hub has a displacement prevention portion that prevents the needle protection member from being displaced from the protection position to the use position again by contacting the restriction portion at the lock position.

An infusion cannula unit made of plastic has a cannula for insertion in a blood vessel. A housing of the unit has a supply line portion the line axis of which runs at an angle relative to a cannula longitudinal axis, said angle being greater than 10°. The supply line portion is in fluid communication with a lumen of the cannula. The infusion cannula unit has a one-piece design. This results in a unit which is easy to produce and in particular suitable for mass production.

A drug injection device contains a needle holder, an ejector, a needle member, and an actuation assembly. The needle holder defines a drug delivery direction extending toward the injection end. The ejector contains a fixing segment that is fixed to the needle holder and located in the drug delivery direction, and the abutting segment extending toward the injection end and protruding beyond the needle holder. The needle member is movably arranged relative to the needle holder and contains a needle shaft connected to a needle hub coaxially arranged with the ejector for the abutting segment inserting into the needle shaft. The actuator assembly connects the needle holder and the needle shaft for driving the needle member between a first position and a second position with respect to the needle holder.

Syringe assembly for a drug delivery device and method of assembly

A syringe assembly for a drug delivery device. The syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis. A needle assembly is operatively coupled to the syringe barrel and includes a needle hub and a needle attached to the needle hub. A flexible connection is disposed between the syringe barrel and the needle hub and forms a fluid pathway between the syringe barrel and the needle. The flexible connection enables the needle assembly to be moveable from a filling position, in which a longitudinal axis of the needle assembly is parallel to a longitudinal axis of the syringe barrel, to an assembled position, in which the longitudinal axis of the needle assembly is not parallel to the longitudinal axis of the syringe barrel.

Methods and apparatus to reduce deadspace in syringes and other devices with the use of volume displacing members that occupy space within one or more interior spaces of such devices. The volume displacing members are also equipped with one or more internal flow passages that facilitate a flow of a fluid through it. The volume displacing members are also adapted to cooperate with features of the devices that house them to form air-tight and liquid-tight seals that at least partially determine a fluid pathway through the devices.
