Multiple beak endotracheal device and related methods thereof
A device and method that reduces impingement upon fragile airway structures and improves the performance and safety associated with endotracheal devices and related intubation procedures. The endotracheal device includes a lumen such that one end of the lumen includes an anterior beak that includes a distal tip of the anterior beak and a posterior beak having a distal tip of the posterior beak.
SYSTEMS, APPARATUS, AND METHODS FOR PERFORMING A PERCUTANEOUS TRACHEOSTOMY
Devices, systems, and methods for creating a percutaneous tracheostomy are described herein. In some embodiments, a system can include an inflation assembly and a guidewire assembly. The inflation assembly can include an elongated tube, an inflatable member, and a magnetic member. The elongated tube can have a first end, a second end, and can define a lumen. The inflatable member can be coupled to the first end of the elongated tube and can be fluidically coupled to the lumen such that the inflatable member can receive fluid via the lumen. The magnetic member can be coupled to the first end of the elongated tube. The first end of a guidewire of the guidewire assembly can include a coupling member, the coupling member configured to couple to the inflatable member such that translation of the elongated tube translates the guidewire assembly.
ENDOTRACHEAL DEVICE FOR MECHANICAL VENTILATION OF A PATIENT
An endotracheal device for mechanical ventilation of a patient includes a ventilation tube and a barrier. The ventilation tube includes a distal part, with a distal end, intended to be inserted into an airway of a patient, and a proximal part, with a proximal end, intended to be connected to a ventilation machine. The barrier is made of solid viscoelastic material, covers the ventilation tube in the distal area, and is configured to occupy, when inserted, the subglottic region, as well as the glottic region and also the supraglottic region of the larynx of the patient, for which reason the barrier has a variable cross section along the length thereof. The device provides greater safety and a lower incidence of complications in mechanical ventilation of patients.
Tracheal tube apparatus and methods
A tracheal tube includes an inner cannula and an outer cannula that are connected with a threaded connection able to swivel, and wherein the inner cannula is also connected to an elbow adaptor through a Bayonet Neill-Concelman (BNC) connection. Both the threaded and the BNC connects provide more secure connections of the corresponding components and are able to withstand greater amounts of force exerted on them without becoming detached from each other. The elbow adapter may further be coupled to a pressure release valve that will alleviate pressure buildup within the tracheal tube.
Electrically-Responsive Hydrogels
Implants comprising electrically-responsive hydrogel are described. Systems to provide electricity to induce response in hydrogel-containing implants are described. Methods for utilizing said system and methods for utilizing said hydrogel-containing implants are described.
Medical tubes for selective mechanical ventilation of the lungs
A single lumen endobronchial tube for selective mechanical ventilation of the lungs can include a medical tube having a single lumen with an opening at each of opposed distal and proximal ends of the tube, the opening at the proximal end of the tube being adapted for connection to an external mechanical ventilation device, and the opening at the distal end of the tube being adapted for delivery of a medical gas; a wall extending throughout the tube's entire length having an internal wall surface, an external wall surface and a thickness therebetween, a portion of the wall having an aperture and a shaft adapted to house a mechanism for sealing the aperture; a distal bronchial cuff positioned along the external wall surface and adapted to expand radially outward; and at least a first proximal tracheal cuff positioned along the external wall surface and adapted to expand radially outward.
Illumination systems and devices for tracheal tubes
Various embodiments of an intubation system include a tracheal tube and an illumination assembly that is removably couplable to a tubular body of the tracheal tube. The tracheal tube may be a double lumen tracheal tube having a first cuff that is adapted to be inflated to seal against the walls of a patient's trachea and a second cuff that is adapted to be inflated to seal against the walls of the patient's bronchial stem. The illumination assembly may have one or more illumination devices that are adapted to produce light within the patient's trachea, the patient's bronchial stem, or both when the illumination assembly is coupled to the tubular body.
Endotracheal tube for mechanical ventilation
The present invention relates generally to medical devices, methods, and kits. More particularly, the present invention relates to improved endotracheal tubes or patient ventilation tubes which prevent the leakage of proximal secretions to the distal airways.
EXPANDABLE ENDOTRACHEAL TUBE
An expandable endotracheal tube includes a shaft that has an airway. The expandable endotracheal tube also includes an expandable segment mounted to a distal end of the shaft. The expandable segment includes an expandable membrane and a constant force spring positioned within the expandable membrane. The constant force spring has a compressed configuration to allow for placement of the expandable endotracheal tube within a patient and an expanded configuration in which the expandable membrane forms a seal with a trachea of the patient to enable positive pressure ventilation.
System and methods for lung isolation and one lung ventilation
A lung isolation system configured for selective isolation and ventilation of the lung in conjunction with a standard endotracheal tube. The system includes an expandable bronchial isolation tube comprising a collapsible nitinol frame, a bifurcated adapter, and a steerable optical stylet.
