DOUBLE CUFF, SINGLE-LUMEN ENDOTRACHEAL TUBE FOR LUNG ISOLATION AND PROTECTION
Various embodiments of a double cuff single lumen endotracheal tube device for lung isolation and protection and its method of use are described herein. A device for intubation providing for single lung isolation and a transition to ventilation of both lungs is described. In one example, the device can be used extend into a main bronchus of patient. A distal cuff and secondary cuff can be inflated for ventilation of one lung. An auxiliary conduit provides passive oxygenation to the non-ventilated or alternately evacuation of mucus or fluids above the distal cuff. The device can be repositioned for long term intubation and ventilation of both lungs.
PULMONARY ISOLATION, VENTILATION AND TREATMENT APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR USE
A pulmonary isolation and ventilation apparatus (e.g., device, system, etc.) is disclosed. The apparatus may include a controller, a steerable outer member (e.g., outer sleeve body), configured to hold an inner member (e.g., endoscope) and a handpiece. The apparatus may be configured as a sleeve for use with any inner member or the apparatus may include the inner member. Through the handpiece, a user may position the outer sleeve body over an endoscope within a target region of the lungs. The position may be verified by the user using a camera of the endoscope. The endoscope may be removed without disrupting the lungs and the positioning within the lungs. The apparatus may provide improved ventilator functionality to the identified region of the lungs through outer member and may provide for isolating a selective targeted area of the lungs for treatment.
ENDOTRACHEAL TUBE
A tube for delivering fluid that has a tube extending between a first opening and a second opening, an expandable cuff formed on a distal end of the tube, a resistant member formed around a portion of the tube, and a sleeve formed around the resistant member. Wherein, the sleeve presents a substantially smooth outer surface.
VENTILATION TUBES WITH INFLATABLE CUFFS
Embodiments of the invention relate to a ventilation device comprising: a. a ventilation tube having proximal and distal ends; and b. an inflatable cuff having a proximal bulge portion and a distal neck portion disposed distal to the bulge portion, the inflatable cuff being mounted around the ventilation tube to define proximal and distal cuff attachment locations which are both fixed on an outer surface of the ventilation tube.
AN AIRWAY MANAGEMENT DEVICE AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING AN OBJECT
An airway management device has a body (6) including an external shell moulded from a polypropylene copolymer (PP) blended with a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) of styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene (SEBS), the external shell extending from a proximal opening to a distal tip of the body (6), the external shell having a curved portion (35) and a linear portion (37). Methods of manufacturing are also disclosed.
Orophrangeal glove for use with a rigid bronchscope and a method
An oropharyngeal glove for use with a rigid bronchoscope is provided for use during a rigid bronchoscopy procedure. When the oropharyngeal glove is in its installed state, it conforms to the patient's mouth and throat. The oropharyngeal glove includes upper and lower teeth guards that protect the patient's upper and lower front teeth, respectively, when the glove is in the installed state. A first opening is formed in the oropharyngeal glove in its proximal end that allows the rigid bronchoscope to enter glove. The oropharyngeal glove has a second opening formed in its distal end through which the rigid bronchoscope passes to enter the patient's trachea. The portions of the glove that conform to the patient's mouth and throat comprise a protective lining that protects the mouth, throat and vocal cords from being damaged by the rigid bronchoscope.
Expandable endotracheal tube
An expandable endotracheal tube includes a shaft that has an airway. The expandable endotracheal tube also includes an expandable segment mounted to a distal end of the shaft. The expandable segment includes an expandable membrane and a constant force spring positioned within the expandable membrane. The constant force spring has a compressed configuration to allow for placement of the expandable endotracheal tube within a patient and an expanded configuration in which the expandable membrane forms a seal with a trachea of the patient to enable positive pressure ventilation.
ENDOTRACHEAL INTUBATION FOR PREVENTING INJURY TO THROAT, VOCAL CORDS, AND TRACHEA
The invention is an endotracheal intubation for preventing injury to throat, vocal cords and trachea. The endotracheal intubation comprises a hollow intubation body with a variable outer diameter. The hollow intubation body comprises a front end and a tail end, an inner intubation wall and an outer intubation wall, and having a retracted state with a smaller outer diameter and an expanded state with a larger outer diameter. When the endotracheal intubation inserted into a patient’s trachea needs to be replaced, as long as the hollow intubation body of the new endotracheal intubation is in the retracted state, it can be inserted into the hollow intubation body to be replaced, and when reaching the position, the hollow intubation body to be replaced is withdrawn, and finally the new hollow intubation body is changed into the expanded state, i.e. the replacement operation of the endotracheal intubation is completed.
Systems and methods for flushing an assessment catheter
Devices systems and methods are disclosed for removing secretions from the lumen of a functional assessment catheter for the lungs. The system comprises a flushing unit configured to deliver a clearing fluid to the lumen of the pulmonary catheter to remove debris, secretions, or moisture from the lumen or sensors.
MEDICAL DEVICE INCLUDING A TUBE
The tube has a first lumen with a proximal end and an open distal end to be placed inside a body cavity. An outer wall encloses the first lumen and a camera lumen. A camera module (10) is arranged in the camera lumen at a distal end thereof so that the camera module is positioned adjacent the distal end of the first lumen. An image transmission cable (13) attached to the camera module extends through the camera lumen to connect to an image display device. The camera module is fixed in the camera lumen by means of a camera housing (14) including a tubular housing part (17) surrounding the camera module and a distal end wall (18). The tubular housing part and the distal end wall are integrally moulded and form one single housing element (19). The tubular housing part fits tightly into the camera lumen of the tube.
