Apparatus and method for a conductive elastomer on a coaxial cable or a microcable to improve signal integrity probing
A method and structure for improving signal integrity probing. A coaxial or a microcoaxial cable is threaded through an optional alignment substrate where the cable is used to support or align the cable or an array of cables. A conductive elastomer is placed on a cable or a microcoaxial cable to improve signal integrity probing.
CONNECTOR AND COAXIAL CABLE WITH MOLECULAR BOND INTERCONNECTION
A coaxial connector in combination with a coaxial cable is provided with an inner conductor supported coaxial within an outer conductor, a polymer jacket surrounding the outer conductor. A unitary connector body with a bore is provided with an overbody surrounding an outer diameter of the connector body. The outer conductor is inserted within the bore. A molecular bond is formed between the outer conductor and the connector body and between the jacket and the overbody. An inner conductor end cap may also be provided coupled to the end of the inner conductor via a molecular bond.
Coaxial cable connector having electrical continuity member
A coaxial cable connector includes, in one embodiment, a body, post, coupler and continuity member. The continuity member has an anchored post contact portion and a plurality of arcuate coupler contact portions. The connector is configured to form an electrical grounding continuity path.
Microwave cable and method for producing and using such a microwave cable
A microwave cable (10), intended for a frequency range from 0 Hz up to at least a few 10 GHz, comprises a central inner conductor (11), a dielectric (12) concentrically surrounding the inner conductor, an outer conductor (13, 14) concentrically enclosing the dielectric (12), and a sheathing concentrically enclosing the microwave cable (10) externally. Stable electrical and mechanical properties, particularly when making up cables, are achieved in that the outer conductor has two electrically conducting bands (13, 14) wound over each other, in that the bands (13, 14) are each wound in an overlapping manner and in that the bands (13, 14) are wound progressively in opposite directions.
Coaxial cable connector having electrical continuity member
A coaxial cable connector comprising a connector body; a post engageable with the connector body, wherein the post includes a flange; a nut, axially rotatable with respect to the post and the connector body, the nut having a first end and an opposing second end, wherein the nut includes an internal lip, and wherein a second end portion of the nut corresponds to the portion of the nut extending from the second end of the nut to the side of the lip of the nut facing the first end of the nut at a point nearest the second end of the nut, and a first end portion of the nut corresponds to the portion of the nut extending from the first end of the nut to the same point nearest the second end of the nut of the same side of the lip facing the first end of the nut; and a continuity member disposed within the second end portion of the nut and contacting the post and the nut, so that the continuity member extends electrical grounding continuity through the post and the nut is provided.
Sleeved coaxial printed circuit board vias
A printed circuit board, and a method of fabricating the printed circuit board is disclosed. The printed circuit board includes at least one coaxial via. A hollow via is disposed in the printed circuit board. A metal sleeve is formed around the circumference of said hollow via. An inner conductive path is disposed in the hollow via. Additionally, an insulating material is disposed in the hollow via, between the conducting path and the metal sleeve. The conductive path is used to connect signal traces disposed on two different layers of the printed circuit board. In some embodiments, these signal traces carry signals having a frequency above 1 GHz, although the disclosure is not limited to this embodiment.
Coaxial cable device having a helical outer conductor and method for effecting weld connectivity
A jumper cable having an end prepared for connecting to a coupling assembly. The prepared end includes an inner conductor, an outer conductor having a helical outer surface contour, and a dielectric core disposed between the inner and outer conductors. A weld washer: (i) threadably engages the helical outer surface contour of the outer conductor, (iii) receives a deformed edge of the outer conductor through an opening in the washer, and (iv) is penetration welded to deformed edge of the outer conductor. Operationally, the face of the weld washer augments the flow of electrical current to electrically ground the outer conductor to the coaxial cable connector.
High-frequency signal line and method for producing base layer with signal line
A high-frequency signal line includes a first base layer having flexibility, a linear signal line provided on the first base layer and including a first line portion having a first width and a second line portion having a second width greater than the first width, and a first reinforcing conductor provided on the first base layer along the first line portion.
Device for attaching a connector to a prepared coaxial cable
A device is provided to attach a connector having an internally threaded base and external threads to a cable having a casing. The device includes a body having a bore therethrough. At least a portion of the bore is threaded and the external threads on the connector are threaded into the threads of the bore until a stop surface in the bore is engaged by a portion of the connector. The device may then be turned to thread the base onto the casing of the cable.
Cable mounted modularized signal conditioning apparatus system
A modularized signal conditioning apparatus system includes at least two slots formed in a coaxial cable. The slots are spaced apart so as to not reduce the measuring performance of the coaxial cable. Slots may be at least 40 mills from one another. In an ESD embodiment, within each slot is an ESD protection component, such as a pair of Shottky diodes coupled between the ground shell and the center conductor of the coaxial cable. Methods of producing modularized signal conditioning apparatus system are also described.
