ULTRASONIC WELD INTERCONNECTION COAXIAL CONNECTOR AND INTERCONNECTION WITH COAXIAL CABLE
A coaxial connector for interconnection with a coaxial cable with a solid outer conductor by ultrasonic welding is provided with a monolithic connector body with a bore. An annular flare seat is angled radially outward from the bore toward a connector end of the connector, the annular flare seat open to the connector end of the connector. An inner conductor cap is provided for interconnection with an inner conductor of the coaxial cable by ultrasonic welding. The ultrasonic welding of each of the inner and outer conductor interconnections may be performed via inner conductor and outer conductor sonotrodes which are coaxial with one another, without requiring the cable and or connector to be removed from their fixture.
Connectors for composite fiber optic/coaxial cables and related connectorized cables and methods
A connector for a composite communications cable includes a connector body, a contact post mounted within the connector body, a compression sleeve that is received within a rear end of the connector body and an optical fiber passage at a front end of the connector.
Apparatus for cable processing
An apparatus for processing a cable including an insulating member, a shielding layer, and a conductor, the apparatus includes a frame forming a housing having an aperture configured to receive an end portion of the cable; a first gripping member disposed within the housing and being configured to grip the cable; and a second gripping member disposed within the housing and being configured to grip the cable; wherein the second gripping member is mounted within the housing so as to be movable relative to the first gripping member to effect fanning and cutting of a portion of the shielding layer.
Energy efficient conductors with reduced thermal knee points and the method of manufacture thereof
The present invention relates to electrical conductors for electrical transmission and distribution with pre-stress conditioning of the strength member so that the conductive materials of aluminum, aluminum alloys, copper, copper alloys, or copper micro-alloys are mostly tension free or under compressive stress in the conductor, while the strength member is under tensile stress prior to conductor stringing, resulting in a lower thermal knee point in the conductor.
Coaxial cable connector having an electrical grounding portion
A coaxial cable connector includes a coupler portion configured to engage an interface port and having a rearward facing coupler surface, a body portion having a forward facing body surface, and a post portion having a rearward facing post surface. The post portion is configured to engage the body portion to form a space between the rearward facing post surface and the forward facing body surface when the connector is assembled. A grounding portion has a post contact portion configured to be located rearward from the rearward facing coupler surface so as to extend in the space when the connector is assembled and when the coupler portion engages the interface port so as to maintain physical and electrical grounding contact with the rearward facing post surface during operation of the connector, and a coupler contact portion configured to contact the rearward facing coupler surface during operation of connector.
Method in the manufacturing of an insulated electric high voltage DC termination or joint
A method in the manufacturing of an insulated electric high voltage DC termination or joint includes providing an insulated electric high voltage DC cable including a high voltage DC conductor, a polymer based insulation system surrounding the high voltage DC conductor, the polymer based insulation system including an insulation layer and a semiconducting layer surrounding the insulation layer, and a grounding layer surrounding the semiconducting layer; removing the grounding layer and the semiconducting layer in at least one end portion of the high voltage DC cable, mounting a field grading adapter or joint body in the at least one end portion of the high voltage DC cable; and subjecting the insulation layer of the polymer based insulation system in the at least one end portion of the high voltage DC cable for a heat treatment procedure, while being covered by the mounted field grading adapter or joint body.

Extensible application state preservation architecture
The preservation of the user interface state of first application on a first device allows, in one embodiment, a user to resume use of at least a portion of the user interface state on a second application on second devices. The first and second applications can be the same or different (with some common user interface UI features or elements and other UI features that are different). Other embodiments are also described.
Coaxial connector grounding inserts
A coaxial cable connector with a grounding insert that is between a fastener and and a post to provide electrical continuity therebetween.
