Cuttable flexible light engines
Flexible light engines capable of being cut, and methods thereof, are provided. A cuttable flexible light engine includes a flexible strip and strings of solid state light sources coupled in parallel. A voltage balancer establishes a desired current flow through the strings of solid state light sources when the flexible strip is cut to a desired length, and may be part of a connector placed where the strip is cut. The strings may be provided in a first set of strings coupled in parallel between a first conductive path and an intermediate conductive path and a second set of strings coupled in parallel between the intermediated conductive path and a second conductive path. A cuttable flexible light engine may also include test points positioned within the strings.
Transmission line RF applicator for plasma chamber
A transmission line RF applicator apparatus and method for coupling RF power to a plasma in a plasma chamber. The apparatus comprises two conductors, one of which has a plurality of apertures. In one aspect, apertures in different portions of the conductor have different sizes, spacing or orientations. In another aspect, adjacent apertures at successive longitudinal positions are offset along the transverse dimension. In another aspect, the apparatus comprises an inner conductor and one or two outer conductors. The main portion of each of the one or two outer conductors includes a plurality of apertures that extend between an inner surface and an outer surface of the outer conductor.
Bone oxygenation measurement
A bone oximeter probe includes an elongated member and a sensor head at an end of the elongated member to make measurements for a bone. The measurements can indicate the viability or nonviability of the bone. In an implementation, the probe is advanced through an incision in soft tissue, towards the underlying bone, and positioned so that the sensor head faces the bone to be measured. Optical signals are sent from the sensor head and into the bone. The bone reflects some of the optical signals which are then detected so that measurements for the bone can be made. Some of these measurements include an oxygen saturation level value, and a total hemoglobin concentration value of the bone.
Method of manufacturing a tunable three dimensional inductor
A method making a three-dimensional inductor, the method including: forming a plurality of vias in a substrate or a molding compound, wherein the vias are arranged with spacings among them; forming a metal layer having interconnects, wherein the interconnects of the metal layer connect the plurality of vias on one end of the vias; forming a plurality of wires to connect the plurality of vias on the other end of the vias to form the 3D inductor; and tuning one or more of the plurality of wires to adjust a physical configuration and inductance value of the 3D inductor.
METHOD OF ASSEMBLING AN ELECTRONIC SUBASSEMBLY FOR A PERSONAL CARE PRODUCT
A method of assembling an electronic subassembly for a personal care product by providing an adapter having a body with a tapered guide surface. A first circuit board is positioned within the adapter. A flexible portion of the first circuit board extends from one end of the adapter and a rigid end of the first circuit board extends from the other end of the adapter. A housing is provided with a first opening and a second opening and a chamber (between the first and second openings. A second circuit board having an electrical connector into the chamber thru the first opening. The tapered surface of the adapter engages a corresponding tapered guide surface of the housing. The rigid end of the first circuit board is connected to the electrical connector.
PRE-CONNECTED ANALYTE SENSORS
Pre-connected analyte sensors are provided. A pre-connected analyte sensor includes a sensor carrier attached to an analyte sensor. The sensor carrier includes a substrate configured for mechanical coupling of the sensor to testing, calibration, or wearable equipment. The sensor carrier also includes conductive contacts for electrically coupling sensor electrodes to the testing, calibration, or wearable equipment.
Handheld device enclosure having an outer periphery member and front and rear cover assemblies
This is directed to an electronic device enclosure. The enclosure includes an outer periphery member forming an outer surface of a device, and to which an internal platform is connected. Electronic device components can be assembled to one or both surfaces of the internal platform. The enclosure can include front and back cover assemblies assembled to the opposite surfaces of the outer periphery member to retain electronic device components. One or both of the cover assemblies can include a window through which display circuitry can provide content to a user of the device.
Control rod drive mechanism (CRDM) mounting method for pressurized water reactors
A standoff supporting a control rod drive mechanism (CRDM) in a nuclear reactor is connected to a distribution plate which provides electrical power and hydraulics. The standoff has connectors that require no action to effectuate the electrical connection to the distribution plate other than placement of the standoff onto the distribution plate. This facilitates replacement of the CRDM. In addition to the connectors, the standoff has alignment features to ensure the CRDM is connected in the correct orientation. After placement, the standoff may be secured to the distribution plate by bolts or other fasteners. The distribution plate may be a single plate that contains the electrical and hydraulic lines and also is strong enough to provide support to the CRDMs or may comprise a stack of two or more plates.
Vehicular camera system
A vehicular camera system includes a camera module having an imager assembly, a main circuit board and a camera housing. The imager assembly includes (i) an imager disposed on an imager circuit board and (ii) a lens holder having a lens assembly that includes a lens barrel accommodating a lens. The imager assembly includes a flexible ribbon cable that electrically connects to an electrical connector at a multilayered PCB of the main circuit board. The camera housing includes an upper cover and a lower cover and includes a forward portion and a rearward portion. The main circuit board is accommodated within the forward and rearward portions, and the imager is disposed at the rearward portion and is not disposed at the forward portion of the camera housing. The lens holder is attached at the upper cover of the camera housing.
