Ethernet magnetics package wire terminations
In one implementation, an apparatus is configured to aid in the manufacturing or assembling of electronic surface mount packages. The apparatus includes a common mode choke base configured to support a common mode choke. The apparatus includes terminal contacts coupled to the common mode choke base. The terminal contacts are aligned with wires connected to the common mode choke. The apparatus includes a support member including a wire supporting portion aligned with the wires connected to the common mode choke and a central portion configured to support the common mode choke base.
Method for laying multiple conductors in a container
A method for laying multiple conductors in a container may be provided. The method may comprise receiving the multiple conductors at a monitoring station; receiving the multiple conductors at a drive; and receiving the multiple conductors at the container.
Method for Manufacturing Electrical Wire, and Electrical Wire
There is provided a method for manufacturing an electrical wire. The electrical wire includes a rod-like conductor having a shape corresponding to a predetermined wiring route and also having rigidity to enable the rod-like conductor to hold the shape by itself, and an insulation sheath covering the rod-like conductor. The method includes: preparing a plurality of rod-like preliminary conductors having the rigidity so as to correspond to a plurality of sub routes into which the wiring route is divided; processing at least one of the plurality of preliminary conductors into a shape conforming to the corresponding sub routes; connecting the plurality of preliminary conductors to form the rod-like conductor; and forming the insulation sheath to cover the rod-like conductor.
Cover assemblies and methods for covering electrical cables and connections
A method for protecting a cable splice connection including a cable, the cable including an electrical conductor surrounded by a cable insulation layer, includes providing a splice body assembly including: an electrically insulative, elastomeric splice body having an interior surface defining an interior passage; and a layer of a conformable medium pre-mounted on the interior surface of the splice body. The conformable medium is a flowable, electrically insulative material. The method further includes mounting the splice body assembly on the cable splice connection such that the layer of the conformable mastic is interposed between and engages each of the interior surface of the splice body and an opposing interface surface of the cable insulation layer.
Downhole Cables with Both Fiber and Copper Elements
Provided is a method of manufacturing a downhole cable, the method including, forming a helical shape in an outer circumferential surface of a metal tube, the metal tube having a fiber element housed therein, and stranding a copper element in a helical space formed by the metallic tube. Also provided is a downhole cable including, a metallic tube having a helical space in an outer circumferential surface thereof, wherein the metallic tube has a fiber element housed therein, and a copper element disposed in a helical space formed by the steel tube. Double-tube and multi-tube configurations of the downhole cable are also provided.
Mechanical assembly by means of autogenous riveting
A mechanical assembly of a multi-strand cable including a plurality of strands and a substrate, the plurality of strands being aligned at the substrate in a first direction and the substrate having a convex edge in a plane perpendicular to the first direction. The plurality of strands is assembled on the substrate by swaging the strands around the convex edge, leading to the deformation of a portion of the strands around said convex edge. The substrate includes an opening in a plane substantially parallel to the first direction, the edge of which forms at least one portion of the convex edge. The swaging operation is carried out on the portion of the strands positioned between the edges of the opening such that a portion of the plurality of punched strands passes through the opening and projects around the convex edge onto the top and bottom sides thereof.
FIBER OPTIC CONNECTOR, FIBER OPTIC CONNECTOR AND CABLE ASSEMBLY, AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING
A fiber optic cable and connector assembly including a fiber optic connector mounted at the end of a fiber optic cable. The fiber optic connector includes a ferrule assembly including a stub fiber supported within a ferrule. The stub fiber is fusion spliced to an optical fiber of the fiber optic cable at a location within the fiber optic connector.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING CABLE CONNECTOR HAND TOOLS
An illustrative cable connector hand tool and associated method are operable to permit cable connection sections to respectively pass through a side opening of hand tool members into a center aperture of the tool members. In one illustrative embodiment, the hand tool members are formed with a recessed portion adapted to receive an end of one of a pair of cable connectors such that mating edges of the cable connectors used to couple the cable connection sections are visible when the cable connectors are in a coupled configuration abutting each other. An illustrative embodiment includes the recessed portion formed with a plurality of keyway indentions or recesses spaced apart in the center aperture that are operable to engage keys, protrusions, or lugs on an outer wall of the cable connectors.
CABLE AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
A cable that has a cable core with a first armor wire layer and a second armor wire layer. The second armor wire layer is segregated from the first armor wire layer, and an outer jacket is disposed about the second armor wire layer.
FIBER OPTIC CONNECTOR WITH FIBER TAKE-UP REGION
A fiber optic connector assembly includes a connector and a carrier. The connector, defining a longitudinal bore extending through the connector and having a first end region and a second end region, includes a ferrule assembly, having an optical fiber extending through the connector, at least partially disposed in the longitudinal bore at the first end region, a tube, defining a passage and having a first end portion disposed in the longitudinal bore at the second end region and a second end region, and a spring disposed in the bore between the ferrule assembly and the tube. The carrier includes a cable end and a connector end engaged with the connector, a termination region disposed between the connector end and the cable end, a fiber support region disposed between the connector end and the termination region, and a take-up region disposed between the connector end and the fiber support region.
