Fluid pump with a rotor
The invention relates to a fluid pump, in particular to a liquid pump having a rotor with at last one rotor blade for conveying the fluid, the rotor being variable with respect to its diameter between a first, compressed state and a second expanded state. In order to produce a simple compressibility and expandability of the rotor of the pump, it is provided according to the invention that at least one rotor blade is deformable between a first state which it assumes in the compressed state of the rotor and a second state which it assumes in the expanded state of the rotor by means of a fluid counterpressure during a rotation of the rotor during pump operation.
Modular fan housing with multiple modular units having sound attenuation for a fan array for an air-handling system
A modular fan housing configured to hold an array of motors and fans is provided. The modular fan housing is configured for use in an air-handling system that delivers air to a ventilation system for at least a portion of a building. The fan housing comprises a plurality of modular units configured to be stacked adjacent to one another in at least one row or column to form an array. The modular units each include an interior surface and have a front end and a back end that define a chamber. The chambers are configured to receive the motors and fans. Sound attenuation layers extend along at least a portion of the interior surface of the corresponding chambers. The sound attenuation layers are positioned between at least some of the adjacent chambers.
Separation device comprising a swirler
Separation device comprising a swirler of a sheet material comprising a plurality of vanes (4) with a flow entrance side edge (6) defining an entrance angle () and a flow exit side edge (8) defining an exit angle (). The flow entrance side edge and flow exit side edge extend from a center section (3) to a peripheral edge (9), which extends between end points of the flow entrance edge and the flow exit edge. The entrance angle is larger than the exit angle.
Stator anti-rotation lug
A compressor assembly of a gas turbine engine includes a case including at least one opening and a stator assembly supported within the case. A lug assembly is secured to the case and sets a position of the stator assembly relative to the case. The lug assembly includes a lug engaging the stator assembly and a boss extending from the lug through the opening in the case. The boss including a threaded hole receiving a threaded member holding the lug assembly to the case and defines a seat for the threaded member that is spaced apart from an outer surface of the case.
Low hub-to-tip ratio fan for a turbofan gas turbine engine
A fan for a turbofan gas turbine engine having a low hub-to-tip ratio is disclosed. The fan includes a rotor hub and a plurality of radially extending fan blades. Each fan blade defines a hub radius (R.sub.HUB), which is the radius of the leading edge at the hub relative to a centerline of the fan, and a tip radius (R.sub.TIP), which is the radius of the leading edge at a tip of the fan blade relative to the centerline of the fan. The ratio of the hub radius to the tip radius (R.sub.HUB/R.sub.TIP) is less than 0.29. In a particular embodiment, this ratio is between 0.25 and 0.29. In another particular embodiment, this ratio is less than 0.25.
Reduction of turbocharger core unbalance with balance washer
Turbochargers operate at extremely high speed, so balance of the rotating core is of the utmost importance to turbocharger life. A special balancing washer is added to the clamping region between the compressor nut and the nose of the compressor wheel to aid in keeping the wheel, nut, and stub-shaft on the turbocharger axis and to thereby prevent introduction of core unbalance.
Blood pump with separate mixed-flow and axial-flow impeller stages, components therefor and related methods
A rotordynamic pump for delivering continuous flow of fluids, such as blood, is provided. In one embodiment, the pump includes a stator housing having an inlet and an outlet. A rotor hub is disposed within the stator housing having a first, mixed-stage impeller and a second, axial-flow stage impellers. One or more stator vanes and extend radially inwardly from the stator housing. In one particular embodiment, the second stage impeller is disposed nearer to the outlet than to the inlet. The stator vanes may include a first set of stator vanes disposed between the first and second stage impellers, and a second set of stator vanes positioned between the second stage impellers and the outlet.
Blade outer air seal with cooling features
A blade outer air seal (BOAS) for a gas turbine engine according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a seal body having a radially inner face and a radially outer face that axially extend between a leading edge portion and a trailing edge portion. At least one cooling fin is disposed on the radially outer face between the leading edge portion and the trailing edge portion.
Pylon matched fan exit guide vane for noise reduction in a geared turbofan engine
A disclosed fan section of a gas turbine engine includes a fan rotor having a plurality of fan blades and a duct defining a passageway aft of the fan rotor. A fan exit guide vane is disposed within the duct downstream of the fan blades. The fan exit guide vane includes a plurality of exit guide vanes positioned downstream of the fan rotor with at least two of the plurality of exit guide vanes including different aft geometries for guiding airflow through the passage to reduce pressure distortions at the fan blades.
