A turbine rotor includes a plurality of blades of composite material comprising fiber reinforcement densified by a matrix. Each blade comprises a blade body extending between an inner end having a blade root and an outer end forming the tip of the blade. The rotor also includes outer platform elements of composite material comprising fiber reinforcement densified by a matrix, each outer platform element including an opening in which the outer end of a blade is engaged. The portion of the outer end of each blade that extends beyond the outer platform element includes a slot or a notch for receiving a locking element.
COMPOSITE BODIES AND THEIR MANUFACTURE
The application describes methods of making composite bodies including fibre-reinforced composite material with carbon fibre reinforcement and also a metal-containing portion (4). The metal-containing portion (4) is formed by laying up metal reinforcement elements, such as tapes of titanium alloy, among the carbon fibre reinforcement tapes which make up the composite body. The proportion of metal reinforcement may increase progressively towards the surface and/or towards an edge (14) of the composite body. In an example, metal leading and trailing edges (14,15) of a fan blade (1) are integrally formed in this way.
Main rotor blade with composite integral skin and cuff
A main rotor blade assembly is provided including a spar which comprises a main section. A main core is positioned adjacent a trailing side of the main section of the spar. A tip assembly includes a main tip core and a tip end pocket core. The tip assembly is positioned adjacent an outboard end of the main core and the spar such that the main tip core is substantially aligned with a longitudinal axis of the main core and the tip end pocket core is substantially aligned with a longitudinal axis of the spar. At least a portion of both the main tip core and the tip end pocket core comprises a high density core. An upper composite skin and a lower composite skin extend over the spar, the main core, the main tip core, and the tip end pocket core. A portion of the upper composite skin and the lower composite skin has a thickness sufficient to be load bearing.

This method is a method for manufacturing a gas turbine blade, including: producing a gas turbine blade having a cooling pass inside thereof; and partially coating an inner surface of the cooling pass with Al. The step of partially coating an inner surface of the cooling pass with Al further including: a first step of specifying a temperature range which satisfies both of oxidation resistance and fatigue strength and the temperature distribution of the inner surface of the cooling pass based on an examination result or result of a numerical analysis; a second step of setting an Al-coating-applying portion of the inner surface of the cooling pass as the temperature range specified at the first step; and a third step of applying Al coating only into the set Al-coating-applying portion.
Wind turbine rotor blade assembly having reinforcement assembly
Rotor blade assembly and methods for forming rotor blade assemblies are provided. A rotor blade assembly includes a rotor blade including a shell and defining a pressure side, a suction side, a leading edge and a trailing edge each extending between a tip and a root. The rotor blade further defines a span and a chord. The shell includes an inner skin, an outer skin, and a core disposed between the inner skin and the outer skin. The rotor blade assembly further includes a reinforcement assembly bonded to the shell, the reinforcement assembly comprising a reinforcement core.
Manufacture of hollow aerofoil
A method of manufacturing a hollow aerofoil component (100) for a gas turbine engine (10) comprises using a capping panel (200) to cover a pocket (310) in a pocketed aerofoil body (300). During manufacture, a mandrel (400) is provided to support the capping panel (200) in the correct position. This ensures that the outer surface of the capping panel (200) is located as accurately as possible. This means that the capping panel (200) can be made to be as thin as possible, which in turn reduces weight and material wastage. Remotely detectable elements (700) may be provided to the mandrel (400) to enable the location of the pocket (310) to be accurately determined from outside the aerofoil (100).

A turbomachine blade having a metal coupling root, and a metal airfoil-shaped oblong member cantilevered from the coupling root; the airfoil-shaped oblong member being divided into: a lower connecting fin cantilevered from and formed in one piece with the coupling root; an upper connecting fin cantilevered from a coupling head towards the coupling root and formed in one piece with the coupling head; and a main plate-like body which is shaped and positioned between the two connecting fins to form an extension of the fins, and is butt-welded to the same connecting fins to form one piece with the fins.

A mold for a centrifugal impeller for a turbomachine is provided. The mold comprises at least one annular insert, wherein the annular insert comprises a plurality of aerodynamic vane inserts configured to reproduce an annular assembly of aerodynamic vanes of a finished centrifugal impeller.
