Assembly and method for loading a self-expanding collapsible heart valve
An assembly for collapsing a prosthetic heart valve includes a compression member and a pusher member. The compression member has a first open end with a first diameter, a second open end with a second diameter less than the first diameter, and a tapered wall between the first open end and the second open end. The pusher member has a base adapted to engage an end of the valve. The pusher member and the compression member are movable relative to one another between an initial position in which the base of the pusher member is relatively far from the first open end of the compression member and an operative position in which the base of the pusher member is relatively close to the first open end of the compression member. Movement of the pusher and compression members from the initial position to the operative position radially compresses the valve.

A method of installing a sealing ring onto a wire wrap screen comprising: providing the sealing ring, wherein the sealing ring has an initial inner diameter greater than the outer diameter of an end of the wire wrap screen; reducing the inner diameter of the sealing ring, wherein the reduced inner diameter of the sealing ring is less than the outer diameter of the end of the wire wrap screen; heating the sealing ring; positioning the heated sealing ring over the end of the wire wrap screen; and allowing the sealing ring to decrease in temperature. Another method comprises positioning at least two sealing rings adjacent to a cut-out section of the wire wrap screen.
Sensor-containing connection element and manufacturing method
A connection element consists of a longitudinally oriented support structure that is at least partially hollow and a sensor unit that is arranged in the inside of the support structure, is connected to a signal transmission device, and is non-positively connected to the support structure. The required force for the non-positive connection is produced by internal stresses after a plastic deformation of the support structure during a joining process of the support structure and the sensor unit. A method for manufacturing a connection element consisting of a support structure that is at least partially hollow and a sensor unit includes positioning the sensor unit in a region of the support structure and, using radially movable tool segments, exerting a force on the support structure in the radial direction and at the same time reducing the periphery of the support structure in the region in which the sensor unit is positioned.

Embodiments of golf clubs with grooves and methods of manufacture thereof are described herein. In one embodiment of a golf club described herein, the golf club has a head with a body. The body has a strike face with channels and at least one insert located within at least one of the channels. At least one of the channels comprises a single groove, and the insert forms at least a portion of the single groove. At least one of the channels comprises an opening on the strike face that is narrower than a bottom of the at least one of the channels. Other embodiments and related methods are also disclosed herein.
Method of using template in manufacturing an implant for spinal or other orthopedic fixation
A template for use in producing an implant for use in spinal or other orthopedic fixation is provided, where the template is adjustable between a first configuration in which the template is capable of bending in response to a force and is capable of retaining a bent shape, and a second configuration in which the template assumes a memorized shape in response to directing the temperature of the template to value that is at or above a recovery level, where the recovery level is above body temperature. A spinal or orthopedic implant is formed by duplicating the bent shape of the template.
Molded composite slip of sheet molded compound for downhole tool
A component of a slip assembly is formed by rolling sheet molding compound into a rolled charge. The rolled charge is positioned in a compression molding press and compressed to produce a molded element. The molded element is removed from the compression molding press and can be machined for use as the component of the slip assembly. The component can be a slip segment or can be a cylindrical body for the slip segment. The compound layers in the molded component can be oriented in a number of different orientations in the component and can increase the overall strength of the component.

The fluid reservoir has an inner wall defining an opening and a frangible seal within the opening. A fluid connector is positioned within the cavity. The fluid connector has an angled tip configured to pierce the frangible seal to establish a fluid connection between the fluid applicator and the fluid reservoir. The fluid reservoir has an inner wall with an annular rib that engages the fluid connector.

The apparatus may further include a gripping device by which at least two functional elements which are to be joined may be removed together from the heating device and introduced into the retaining devices.
