Method of making catheter assembly with seal member
A catheter assembly includes a catheter hub defining an interior cavity and a catheter tube extending distally thereof. A rigid actuator is positioned to extend proximally in the interior cavity and support a seal member positioned thereon in the interior cavity. The seal member includes a central membrane, a distal portion, and a proximal portion. An hourglass shaped actuator cavity is formed in the distal portion and receives a barbed end of the actuator. The outer surface of the seal member is in partial circumferential engagement with the catheter hub to define an air path that allows fluid communication between areas of the interior cavity distal and proximal of the seal member. The seal member may be configured for multi-use and include a biasing member that moves the seal member to force the membrane back over the actuator to close the membrane.
HYBRID COMPOSITE FLAME CELL
A method of custom manufacturing a flame arrestor includes providing a housing having an interior surface and an exterior surface where the exterior surface of the housing is shaped to fit within a fluid passageway. The method includes forming, using an additive manufacturing technique, a three-dimensional lattice structure by depositing a first material onto the interior surface of the housing in a predetermined pattern. The lattice structure includes a plurality of connected lattice members forming channels extending from a first end to a second end of the three-dimensional lattice structure. An element of a second material is provided adjacent to the three-dimensional lattice structure. The second material is different than the first material and the element is configured to draw heat away from fluid flowing through the plurality of channels.
Method and system for the manufacture of a razor cartridge
A molded plastic housing is provided with elastic support members extending in a hollow space, and elastically supporting members. These members have an elongated edge running from a first to a second lateral face of the housing, and accessible through a window. A pre-clamp is assembled to the housing, by placing leg portions on either side of the hollow space, with a base portion extending across the edge of the member. The leg portions are deformed to cooperate with the bottom face of the housing to hold the member in the housing.
Orbiting scroll platter mass reduction
An orbiting scroll of a scroll compressor includes a platter wall having a first face including a spiral structure projecting therefrom, a second face having a coupling structure configured to couple the orbiting scroll to a drive mechanism of the scroll compressor, and a circumferential surface connecting the first face to the second face in an axial direction of the platter wall. The orbiting scroll includes a mass reduction feature provided as an inwardly indented channel formed in the circumferential surface. The channel is further configured to form a retaining feature for retaining a rim of a mask during a process of coating the spiral structure of the first face with a surface coating.

Tool safety strap
A novel way of attaching a safety strap to a hand tool where the hand tool does not have a readily available means of connecting such a strap. In one aspect of the disclosure, a rubber sleeve is stretched over a removable core that is then placed over the hand tool and the safety strap such that the strap is between the sleeve and an anchor surface. The rubber sleeve is then released from the core, and the safety strap is held securely by the constricting rubber sleeve.
Reinforced plug
A method includes providing a die having a cylindrical body terminating in a rounded end, wrapping a fibrous material around the die while the fibrous material is tensioned, wherein the fibrous material is placed to extend in a continuous manner across the width of the rounded end of the body and to opposite sides of the cylindrical body, applying a curable resin on the die, curing the resin, and removing a reinforced cured resin plug from the die.
COOLABLE WALL ELEMENT WITH IMPINGEMENT PLATE
A coolable wall element for a gas turbine, having a base body with a first surface subjectable to a hot gas, second surface arranged opposite of the first surface, and first seat for housing edges of an impingement plate. The wall element has an impingement plate partly inserted into the first seat located at a distance and adjacent to the second surface. A coolable wall element with extended life time is provided with the impingement plate which is removably attached to the base body having a snap-in connection with a bendable retention tab extending from the rest of the impingement plate to a free end of the retention tab, wherein the base body has a second seat for the free end of said tab, the second seat blocks the moving of the impingement plate relative to the main body when the bendable retention tab is released.
