Automated assembly system and automated assembly method
An automated assembly apparatus comprises an assembly robot that includes a Y-axis movement unit, a first X-axis movement unit movable in a Y-axis direction along the Y-axis movement unit, and a grip unit movable in an X-axis direction along the X-axis movement unit, and a workbench unit including a Z-axis movement unit arranged below the assembly robot with respect to an Z-axis and a workbench movable in the Z-axis direction along the Z-axis movement unit, wherein an assembly operation for a first assembly component gripped by the grip unit and a second assembly component mounted on the workbench unit is performed through movement in the Z-axis direction by the workbench unit.
Position adjustable grapple attachment
An attachment that is configured for attachment to an arm of a piece of construction equipment. The attachment includes a pair of grapple mechanisms mounted on a main beam. Each grapple mechanism includes opposing grab arms mounted to a grab arm housing. The grab arm housings of the grapple mechanisms are each individually adjustable separate from one another relative to the main beam in one or more directions generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the main beam. The attachment can fine adjust the positions of the pipe ends relative to one another until the ends align with each other, at which point the pipe ends can be welded or otherwise secured to each other while being held in position by the grapple mechanisms.
JIG APPARATUS FOR ASSEMBLING TRUNK LID
A jig apparatus is used for assembling a trunk lid including an upper panel, an extension panel, and a lower panel. The jig apparatus may include: a jig frame; a first activation jig unit configured to align and fix the upper panel and the extension panel and installed at the jig frame in front and rear directions to be tilting-rotatable; and a second activation jig unit aligning and fixing the lower panel and installed at the jig frame to be linearly movable in the front and rear directions with respect to the first activation jig unit.
MICROMECHANICALLY ALIGNED OPTICAL ASSEMBLY
An optical assembly includes a combination of laser sources emitting radiation, focused by a combination of lenses into optical waveguides. The optical waveguide and the laser source are permanently attached to a common carrier, while at least one of the lenses is attached to a holder that is an integral part of the carrier, but is free to move initially. Micromechanical techniques are used to adjust the position of the lens and holder, and then fix the holder it into place permanently using integrated heaters with solder.
AUTOMATED END FITTING INSTALLATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
Sucker rods include end fittings having an outer wedge portion proximate to an open end, an inner wedge portion proximate to a closed end, and an intermediate wedge portion between the outer and inner wedges. Each wedge includes a leading edge, a trailing edge, and an angle between the leading and trailing edges. The triangular configuration, length of the leading edge, the length of the trailing edge, and size of the angle in each wedge portion cause distribution of force, such that compressive forces distributed to the rod proximate the closed end exceed compressive forces distributed to the rod proximate the open end. An automated installation procedure installs the end fitting through the use of multiple chucks, positioned by servo motors along a fitting table.
Tool assembly and a method for mounting a tailgate to a car body using the tool assembly
A tool assembly for mounting a tailgate to a car body is provided. The tool assembly includes a bracket adapted to engage with an overhead structure and a frame movably coupled to the bracket and configured to move in a vertical direction relative to the bracket. The tool assembly also includes a linkage mechanism movably coupling the frame with the bracket and configured to maintain the frame parallel to the bracket during the vertical movement of the frame. Further, a pair of torque guns is coupled to the frame and is configured to hold a pair of fasteners. The pair of torque guns engages and tightens the pair of fasteners to the car body and a hinge attached to the tailgate.
Method of producing vehicle body assembly
A vehicle body assembling apparatus includes a lower jig, an upper jig movable by an arm of a robot, and a joining device. The joining device performs joining operations for lower component parts (e.g., a temporary assembly of a rear floor frame) transported by the upper jig and positioned by the lower jig, upper component parts (e.g., a temporary assembly of a rear floor panel) held by the upper jig, and a temporary assembly of a vertical assembly (e.g., rear floor component) formed by overlapping the upper assembly with the lower assembly, above the lower jig at different timings.
Automated assembly method using automated assembly apparatus
An automated assembly apparatus includes an assembly robot, which has a plurality of hands of different heights and an XY-axis moving unit movable in a horizontal direction, and a plurality of operation base units which have operation bases and Z-axis moving unit capable of moving the operation bases in a vertical direction. The automated assembly apparatus further includes a control unit which raises in advance, before the assembly robot reaches above the operation bases, the operation bases by the Z-axis moving unit to positions where the operation bases do not interfere with the plurality of hands.
PIPE PROCESSING TOOL WITH PIPE DEFORMATION MEMBERS
A pipe processing tool that is configured to deform the end of a pipe so that the circumferential shape of the end of the pipe generally matches the circumferential shape of an adjacent pipe end. Matching the circumferential shapes of the pipe ends is advantageous during a pipe attachment process. The pipe processing tool can include a deformation ring with a plurality of pipe deformation members. Each pipe deformation member faces radially inward and is actuatable in a radial direction toward and away from the center of the deformation ring in order to permit engagement with the pipe. Each pipe deformation member is individually and separately actuatable from the other pipe deformation members so that the circumferential shapes of the pipes can be altered by controlling suitable ones of the pipe deformation members.
Clocking valve retainer
Valve retainers and delivery systems with valve retainers are disclosed. In certain embodiments, a portion of the valve retainer can rotate about a central axis of the delivery system relative to a different portion of the valve retainer. In certain embodiments, a first portion of the valve retainer can include a plurality of first orientation markings. In certain embodiments, a second portion of the valve retainer can include a second orientation marking, which can be aligned with a first orientation marking on the first portion of the valve retainer.
