Method for producing a composite component, and composite component
The invention relates to a method for producing a composite component (12). At least one shaft (2) and at least one sintered part (1), preferably in the form of a rotor or a cam, are assembled into the composite component. In order to assemble the composite component, at least the following steps are carried out: —introducing the shaft (2) into a continuous bore (3) of the sintered part (1) and —calibrating the sintered part (1) at least by means of a calibrating die (4), furthermore preferably with the simultaneous application of an axial force onto the sintered part (1) by means of at least one upper punch (5) and at least one lower punch (7), wherein the shaft (2) can be found in the bore (3) of the sintered part (1) at least temporarily during the calibration process. The invention further relates to a composite component (12).
Methods of using a 4-way compression grooved coupling
A method for joining and sealing two grooved-ended pipe segments without disassembling a coupling is disclosed. The coupling has a housing with upper and lower arcuate housing segments and left and right bridge segments. Each bridge segment has at least one set of dihedrally angled faces that engage corresponding faces each in the upper and lower housing segments. Drawing the upper and lower segments inwardly together along a first axis, presses each bridge segment inward along a second axis roughly tangential to the first axis. All segments are loosely pre-assembled into a coupling which has a one-piece circular sealing gasket that has an inward circumferential and centrally positioned pipe stop that has an inner diameter smaller than an outer diameter of the pipes to be joined.
Method of crimping stent on catheter delivery assembly
A method of crimping a stent is disclosed. The stent includes a minimum crimped diameter such that in the minimum crimped diameter, a pair of stent rings, between which marker support structures reside, do not make contact with the marker support structures. The crimped profile of the stent of the present invention can be as small as the crimped profile of a same stent but without the maker support structures.
Sealing appliance
An appliance for sealing elastic hoses with a sleeve, which is plastically deformable and slipped onto the hose, has two jaws which are movable towards and away from each other. One jaw has two straight bars which project towards the other jaw and extend transversely of the sleeve to make two transverse indentations in the sleeve and the hose when the jaws are moving towards each other. The same jaw has a cutting edge which projects towards the other jaw and is directed transversely of the sleeve, the cutting edge making a substantially transverse cutting indication in the sleeve and the hose when the jaws are moving towards each other.
Balloon expanded polymer stent
A medical device includes a polymer stent (or scaffold) crimped to a catheter balloon. The stent, after being expanded from a crimped state by the balloon, provides a crush recovery of about 90% of its expanded diameter after being pinched or crushed by an amount equal to about 50% of the expanded diameter. The stent has a pattern including a W-shaped or W-V shaped closed cell and links connecting the closed cells.
METHOD FOR IMPLANTING A CARDIOVASCULAR VALVE
A method is provided for implanting a valve having at least one valve leaflet within the cardiovascular system of a subject. One step of the method includes preparing a substantially dehydrated bioprosthetic valve and then providing an expandable support member having oppositely disposed first and second ends and a main body portion extending between the ends. Next, the substantially dehydrated bioprosthetic valve is attached to the expandable support member so that the substantially dehydrated bioprosthetic valve is operably secured within the main body portion of the expandable support member. The expandable support member is then crimped into a compressed configuration and placed at a desired location within the cardiovascular system of the subject. Either before or after placement at the desired location, fluid or blood re-hydrates the substantially dehydrated bioprosthetic valve.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR LOADING A PROSTHESIS ONTO A DELIVERY SYSTEM
A device for loading a prosthesis onto a delivery system includes a first housing having a central bore. One or more actuators on the first housing may be actuated radially inward to selectively compress a discrete portion of the prosthesis disposed in the central bore.

BALLOON EXPANDED POLYMER STENT
A stent made from a material comprising a polymer is disclosed. The stent has a pre-crimp diameter and a wall thickness such that a ratio of the pre-crimp diameter to the wall thickness is between 30 and 60. The stent has a pattern of interconnected elements. The interconnected elements including a plurality of rings connected by links, wherein each ring includes struts and crowns, and the struts are configured to fold at the crowns when the stent is crimped to the balloon.
Method for manufacturing swaged structure and swaged structure
The end portion of a first member includes a plate part and a groove. The end portion of a second member includes an edge and two side surfaces. The groove extends around the edge of the second member and the two side surfaces. The groove includes a side surface including an engaging portion. One of the side surfaces of the end portion of the second member includes an engaged portion. A method for manufacturing a swaged structure includes preparing the first member including the plate part and the groove having a wide opening. The method further includes inserting the end portion of the second member into the groove after preparing the first member. The method further includes pressing the plate part in a direction narrowing the opening of the groove to bring the engaging portion into contact with the engaged portion after inserting the second member.
