METHODS OF FORMING HEAT SET ANNULOPLASTY RINGS

An annuloplasty repair segment for heart valve annulus repair and a method for forming. A multi-stranded cable replaces solid core wire for both the tricuspid and mitral valves which allows for greater deployment flexibility for minimally-invasive surgical (MIS) implant, while still maintaining the required strength and similar tensile properties of solid-core wire. The particular shape of the annuloplasty ring is fixed using a heat setting process including heating the flexible core member to a temperature higher than 500° C. and holding it in a desired heat-set saddle shape for a period of time. The core is then rapidly cooled to impart physical properties such that the flexible core member can be straightened, during implantation, to fit through a tubular access device and regain the heat-set saddle shape after exiting the access device and, when attached to the native heart valve, the flexible core member is strong enough to remodel the native heart valve.

Composite frame structure, electronic device, and method for manufacturing the composite frame structure

A composite frame structure includes a metal frame and a plastic frame. The metal frame is formed by enclosing a plurality of metal sheets. The plastic frame is combined with an inner surface of the metal frame, the plastic frame has an integrally formed structure. An electronic device having the composite frame structure and a method for manufacturing the composite frame structure are provided.

Golf club heads and methods of manufacturing golf club heads

A golf club head and a method of manufacturing a golf club head are described herein. The golf club head comprises a club face with a face portion, and grooves positioned on the club face. The grooves each comprise a bottom, a first side wall adjacent the bottom, a second side wall adjacent the bottom, a first top radius adjacent the first side wall, and a second top radius adjacent the second side wall. The club face further comprises a second portion positioned between the face portion, and the first top radius and the second top radius. The second portion of the club face allows for the grooves to appear visually wider to a player, which can provide psychological effects to benefit performance, while still conforming to USGA groove widths standards.

REDUCTION OF PARTICULATE EMISSIONS FROM VEHICLE BRAKING SYSTEMS
20200240483 · 2020-07-30 ·

A vehicle braking system reduces particulate emissions resulting from wear of the brake pad and rotor during stopping or slowing of a vehicle. The rotor includes at least one friction surface, that has an outer coating of a corrosion and wear-resistant material. This uoter coating can optionally include a first layer comprising a crystalline material and a second layer overlaying and contacting the first layer and comprising an amorphous material. The first layer and the second layer can optionally have an inter-layer period of less than 10 nm such that the structure of the outer coating is that of a superlattice. A brake member that includes a friction material is mounted to a caliper on the vehicle with the friction material disposed opposite the at least one friction surface so that the friction material reversibly engages with the outer coating of the corrosion and wear-resistant material when the braking system is operated to stop or slow the vehicle. Contact between the friction material and the outer coating results in substantially reduced conversion of the friction material to dust while producing an improved coefficient of friction relative to standard braking systems. Related systems, apparatus, methods, and/or articles are also described.
