MASK SYSTEM

A mask system for delivering air pressurized above atmospheric pressure to the airways of a patient to treat sleep disordered breathing (SDB) by continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) may include a mask having a cushion configured to form a seal with the patient's nose; two inlet conduits, each of the two inlet conduits configured to extend from a position superior to the patient's head and along a corresponding side of the patient's head, and each of the two inlet conduits being in fluid communication with a corresponding side of the mask to deliver pressurized air to the mask; a first vent arrangement configured to be positioned superior to the patient's head in use and configured to discharge gas to atmosphere during therapy; and a second vent arrangement configured to be positioned inferior to the first vent arrangement in use and configured to discharge gas to atmosphere during therapy.

Emergency respiratory ventilator

An emergency respirator ventilator that comprising an air cylinder and piston/piston rod for compressing an air bag to transmit air to a patient, e.g., during situations where fully equipped ventilators are not immediately available.

Exhalation scavenging therapy mask

A respiratory mask for a medical patient including a shell and a flow coupling is disclosed. The shell includes an upper portion configured to cover a nose of the patient and a lower portion configured to cover a mouth of the patient, where an internal surface of the shell defines an interior volume of the respiratory mask. The flow coupling includes a body, a supply flow passage extending through the flow coupling, a scavenging flow passage extending through the flow coupling, and a septum within the body that separates the supply flow passage from the scavenging flow passage. The supply flow passage and the scavenging flow passage are fluidly coupled to an aperture that extends through the upper portion of the shell, and an aperture extending through the lower portion of the shell, respectively.

Respiratory isolation and/or treatment devices and methods of using the same

A device includes a body defining a respiration passage in fluidic communication with a filter fitting disposed on a first end of the body and a mask fitting disposed on a second end of the body, and a treatment passage in fluidic communication with the mask fitting. A treatment fitting is disposed on the body and is coupleable to a treatment source such that a seal in the treatment fitting transitions from a closed state to an open state to allow fluidic communication between the treatment source and the treatment passage. The device configured to permit (i) inhalation air and/or exhaled breath to be drawn and/or expelled through the filter fitting, the respiration passage, and the mask fitting and (ii) a respiratory therapeutic to be drawn from the treatment source coupled to the treatment fitting, through the treatment passage, and through the mask fitting.

One-Way CPAP/BiPAP Mask

An article of manufacture for a one-way CPAP/BiPAP mask is disclosed. The article includes a mask covering a mouth and nose of a user, an inlet for connecting to a CPAP/BiPAP machine, an exhalation port having an interlocking ring, and a removable filtering tube having an attachment end and an exhalation end. The removable filtering tube has an attachment port located at the attachment end and configured to connect to the interlocking ring of the exhalation port, a filtered exhalation opening located at the exhalation end, and a filter element located between the attachment port and the filtered exhalation opening, the filter permits air from within the mask leave the filtered exhalation opening while removing any pathogens present in the user's exhalations.

GAS FILTER HOUSING WITH REPLACEABLE GAS FILTER MEDIA FOR MEDICAL VENTILATION SYSTEMS
20220040618 · 2022-02-10 ·

A medical breathing gas filter housing includes a first housing body including a first port, and a second housing body including a second port. The gas filter housing is configurable between a closed state and an open state. In the closed state, the first housing body is snap fit to the second housing body such that first and second interior sides of the first and second housing bodies, respectively, define a cavity, the cavity sized to receive a replaceable gas filter media. In the open state, the first housing body is separated from the second housing body to provide access to the cavity.

System and method of detecting integrity of breathing systems for safe and optimal delivery

A system and to automate the integrity check of a breathing system and inform a ventilator to deliver a compensated gas volume, and alert the user if a vital component of a breathing circuit is absent or not fully connected. The system and method utilize an open RFID tag on a first point of connection and a conducting ring on the second point of connection such that when a circuit connection is made, the open RFID tag becomes active and provides an RFID reader with data regarding the circuit connection.

Manufacturing method for a hood type ventilation device

A device for providing a known concentration of blended air and oxygen, or oxygen, to an individual which incorporates a face mask inside a hood, thereby preventing aerosolization of potentially harmful exhaled gases and controlling condensation issues within the hood while under pressurized conditions. The air tight seal required to allow placement and removal of the hood on the individual will be manufactured using injection molded elastomers to over-mold injection molded rigid plastic components.

Hyperoxic therapy systems, methods and apparatus

The present invention provides systems, methods, and apparatus for applying a hyperoxic therapy delivery system to a patient; administering hyperoxic gas to the patient according to an oxygen dose-response model; and adjusting the administration of the hyperoxic gas to the patient based upon monitored parameters related to a condition of the patient. Numerous additional features are disclosed.

GAS STORAGE MASK

Provided is a gas storing mask which, with a simple configuration, allows a reduction in feeling of discomfort given to a patient. An oxygen delivering mask (1a) includes a first sheet (2) and a second sheet (3), oxygen supplied from outside the oxygen delivering mask (1a) being stored in a gas storing part (4) formed between the first sheet (2) and the second sheet (3).
