MEDICAL DEVICE DELIVERY MEMBER WITH FLEXIBLE STRETCH RESISTANT DISTAL PORTION

A delivery member is provided for delivering and deploying an intravascular medical device. The delivery member includes a flexible distal portion including a wound wire coil surrounded by a flexible sleeve and inhibited from extending lengthwise by a stretch resistant member positioned through the lumen of the coil. The delivery member can include hypotubes positioned on either side (distally and proximally) from the wound wire coil to which the stretch resistant member and the wound wire coil can be attached. The flexible sleeve can be fused to the stretch resistant member between windings of the wire coil.

Double loop lasso with single puller wire for bi-directional actuation

A catheter has a distal assembly with at least one loop with ring electrodes. A single continuous puller wire for bidirectional deflection is pre-bent into two long portions and a U-shape bend therebetween. The U-shape bend is anchored at a distal end of a deflectable section which is reinforced by at least one washer having at least two holes, each hole axially aligned with a respective lumen in the deflectable section. Each hole is centered with a lumen so that each puller wire portion therethrough is straight and subjected to tensile force only. A proximal end of the support member is flattened and serrated to provide a better bonding to the distal end of the deflectable section.

Steerable catheter system with hub

A steerable catheter having a hub with a control feature includes a semi-rigid catheter with the hub attached at the proximal end. The distal end of the catheter includes a distal tip and a flexible portion adjacent the distal tip. The catheter includes a working channel, and further includes a channel through which a tension member or wire extends to the distal tip. Tension in the wire causes the distal tip to deflect and be steered. The hub includes a fixed member attached to the catheter, an inner member that moves axially relative to the fixed member, and an outer member that rotates relative to the inner member and the fixed member. Rotation of the outer member results in translation of the inner member, which is attached to the tension member and provides for controlled steering of the distal tip.

The endoscopy tool and methods of use disclosed herein are used to move gastrointestinal tissue. The endoscopy tool includes an auxiliary gastrointestinal device, or a catheter, having a proximal region and a distal region. The endoscopy tool includes a non-conductive, polymeric loop coupled to and extending distally from the distal end of the gastrointestinal device. The surfaces of the loop are smooth such that the loop can move intestinal tissue without causing lacerations.

DRAINAGE CATHETER EXCHANGE SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED METHODS

Catheter exchange systems and methods may use a cutting tool to sever an encrusted catheter. The cutting tool may include a flexible cannula to encompass and move along the encrusted catheter. A sheath may selectively cover the cutting tool. The cutting tool may selectively transition between a first position in which the cutter is within the sheath and a second position in which the cutting tool is extended beyond the sheath to sever a suture of the catheter. A locking stylet may be used to secure the position of the encrusted catheter and remove the encrusted catheter

Catheter with tapered support member for variable arcuate distal assembly

A catheter with a variable circular loop responsive to a contraction wire for coiling is supported by a member having a tapered distal section that transitions from a circular cross-section to a generally rectangular cross-section while maintaining a uniform cross-sectional area along the entire tapered length for improved coiling characteristics. A radially constrictive sleeve prevents separation of the contraction wire from the support member to minimize misshaping of the loop during contraction.

DRAINAGE CATHETER WITH SUTURE LUMEN

A drainage catheter configured for draining bodily fluid from a patient is disclosed. The drainage catheter may comprise a catheter tube with a drainage lumen and a suture lumen. A suture of the drainage catheter may be disposed within the suture lumen. The suture may be coupled to a distal end of the catheter tube and extend proximally through a hub disposed at the proximal end of the catheter tube.

Catheter hub with sealed access port

A catheter hub for use with a medical device and a catheter, the hub includes a hub body defining a fluid passageway in communication with a first aperture. Optionally, the hub body defines a second aperture that intersects the first aperture. The hub body attaches to the catheter wherein the fluid passageway and the catheter are aligned for fluid flow therethrough. The first aperture extends from and communicates with the fluid passageway to an exterior surface of the hub body and the first aperture configured to receive the medical device. The second aperture extends from and communicates with the first aperture and the exterior surface. A sealing element is sized for and positioned in either the first or the second apertures. The sealing element is configured to receive the medical device and seal both of the first and the second apertures.
