CATHETER SECUREMENT COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS PROVIDING SIGNIFICANTLY STRONG SECUREMENT, WATER RESISTANT SEAL, EFFECTIVE HEMOSTATIS, AND ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTIES AT AND AROUND VASCULAR ACCESS SITES
Catheter securement compositions and methods providing significantly strong securement, water resistant seal, effective hemostasis, and antibacterial properties at and around vascular access sites. By securing the insertion site and the hub to the skin, the composition and method reduce complications such as catheter dislodgement, catheter infiltration, catheter migration, catheter occlusion, catheter-related phlebitis, and catheter-related infections.
PRESSURE RELIEVING DRESSING FOR PERIPHERAL INTRAVENOUS LINE
A skin protection and catheter securement dressing includes a body, a foam pad, a liner tab, a frame, and an adhesive strip. The body includes a plastic film with a transparent window, an adhesive surface, a recessed portion along one edge, and a second surface, covered on the perimeter by the frame to which the adhesive strip is attached. The adhesive surface is covered by release liner strips. The pad has an adhesive surface and an end hinged to the dressing body adhesive surface. A method includes preparing an IV site; placing a catheter; connecting an IV line; removing the liner tab; placing the foam pad under the hub; removing the liner strips; centering the IV line; adhering the film over the hub; removing the adhesive strip from the frame; removing the frame from the film; and adhering the adhesive strip over the IV line.
ENDOTRACHEAL TUBE FASTENING APPARATUS AND USE THEREOF
An endotracheal tube fastening apparatus and use thereof for the field of medical apparatuses, specifically to the field of useful apparatuses for fastening devices related to advanced life support to a patient. The present invention discloses an endotracheal tube adhesive fastening apparatus, specifically to endotracheal tubes used for patients' intubation during surgical procedures whenever an artificial respiration system is required. The apparatus of the present invention has a shape that allows complete isolation of the oral cavity during the procedure, as well as ensuring tube stability during its fastening and removal, in order to reduce the possibility of injuries to the patient's airways or hypoxia due to accidental extubation.
Secondary device holder and compression system, method of making and using the same
A device that holds a radial sheath, catheter or similar structure in place during surgical procedures. The device has a strap configured to fit around a patient's wrist and a two-part section that includes a sheath holder or clamp. The clamp is configured to accept a free end of the sheath or other device and to allow the physician access to the open end of that sheath so that they can insert instruments through it. The second section contains a compression device that, when positioned over the puncture site, can be expanded such that it provides pressure and patent hemostasis to the site to stop bleeding. Adhesive surfaces with peel away releasable liners on one or more surfaces of the device allow the flap featuring the compression balloon to be folded over onto the flap containing the sheath clamp and hold it in place.
SUBCUTANEOUS FIXING SYSTEM FOR MEDICAL DEVICES
The present disclosure relates to a subcutaneous fixation system for fixing medical devices, in particular catheters, and keeping them in position with respect to an access point on the skin of a patient.
Injection Port Dressing Assembly
An injection port dressing assembly for covering an injection port in a patient includes a dressing that is positionable around an injection port in a patient to inhibit bacteria from accessing the injection port. The dressing has a tube opening therein to accommodate an injection tube from the injection port. A dome is provided and the dome is coupled to the dressing to cover the injection port when the dressing is placed on the patient. The dome is comprised of a translucent material to facilitate the injection port to be visible through the dome. An adhesive layer is coupled to the dressing to adhesively engage the patient's skin.
GUARD FOR ADAPTOR IN AN INTRAVENOUS LINE
There is provided a guard for an intravenous adaptor. The guard comprises a polymer sheet formed of a polymer film, the polymer sheet having left, right and middle portions; tear lines within the polymer sheet, located on either side of the central extent of the middle portion; a pull strip extending lengthwise, generally parallel to the central extent and positioned between the tear lines; and an adhesive applied to a periphery of the polymer sheet and over the ends of the pull strip, the tear lines penetrating through the adhesive. The left and right portions of the polymer sheet are arranged to be folded onto each other to form a folded polymer sheet adhered by the adhesive to define a pocket, which is openable by tearing the folded polymer sheet and adhesive along the tear lines.
EXTERNAL NEEDLE GUIDE AND ANCHOR
An external needle guide can include a skin contact portion for attaching to skin of a patient and a needle guide portion for guiding a needle into a vessel of the patient. The external needle guide provides an accurate placement of a needle into the vessel (e.g., a good puncture), which reduces the failures of the vessel. Furthermore, because of the accurate placement of the needles and the ease of placement of the external needle guide, a patient and/or another person can insert the needles into the vessel with one hand. An external needle guide can also include an anchor portion that secures a needle to the external needle guide, preventing unwanted movement of the needle and damage to the vessel.
SECUREMENT DEVICE FOR PIPES, CABLES OR CATHETERS
A securement device 1 for securely attaching tubular articles 2 to surfaces comprising an anchor pad 3 for placing the securement device 1 on the surface, a substantially cylindrical base 4 on the anchor pad 3 and a screw cap 5 rotatably mountable on the base 4 at a screw mounting 6 defined between the base 4 and the screw cap 5 between an article receiving position and an article gripping position in which radial pressure is applied to the article 2 placed in the securement device 1 to securely hold the article 2 without the use of external adhesive fixings and prevent micro-pistoning of the article 2.
MICROSTRUCTURES TO ATTACH APPLIANCES TO TISSUES
An attachment device used to attach appliances to tissue can incorporate microstructures. A medical device system can comprise a coupling device comprising a base layer, a coupling attached to an air side of the base layer, a microstructure attached to a skin side of the base layer and a patient interaction feature, and an appliance comprising a structure mounted to the coupling to interface with the patient interaction feature. An appliance device comprises a base layer, an appliance structure attached to an air side of the base layer, and a microstructure attached to a skin side of the base layer. An appliance attachment system comprises an appliance, a first component comprising an adhesive backing containing microstructures that are configured to attach to skin, and a second component configured to attach the appliance to the first component.
