ANTIMICROBIAL LIGHT-EMITTING PERCUTANEOUS SITE DRESSING

An antimicrobial light dressing device, system and method for a percutaneous treatment that bathes a treatment region around the percutaneous insertion with an antibacterial illumination source for preventing pathogens around the insertion from entering via the dermal puncture created by the insertion. The antimicrobial light dressing device combines a circumferential body centered around the insertion, and an arrangement of LEDs around the body that focus the light around the insertion and onto a therapeutic region of the insertion. An opening in the circumferential body has an articulated protrusion for offsetting a medicinal vessel such as an IV tube off the skin surface to avoid blocking light to an area under the vessel.

Vehicle frame component

A vehicle frame component for limiting the movement of the wheel of the vehicle toward the cab of a cab on frame vehicle including a base member welded to openings in the frame side rail and extending outwardly and located proximal the wheel structure. In one embodiment the vehicle frame component is located forward of the wheel and includes a tire puncture device to deflate the tire during an offset front impact and in a second embodiment the vehicle frame component is located rearward of the wheel. The vehicle frame component has particular utility during an offset front impact where the offset is less than approximately twenty-five percent (25%) of the width of the vehicle.

A dual dressing catheter site covering system prevents contamination of a wound site and inadvertent removal of a dressing from the catheter site. The system includes a primary dressing configured to cover a catheter site thereby inhibiting the catheter site from being contaminated. The primary dressing has an outer perimeter edge. A cover adhesive is positioned on a lower surface of a peripheral section of a cover dressing wherein the lower surface of the peripheral section adheres to the patient around the outer perimeter edge of the primary dressing. A central section of the cover dressing extends over and covers the primary dressing such that the cover dressing prevents contamination of the primary dressing.

A method for Preparing an Insertion Site for a Cannula on a Skin of a Patient, a Skin Cover Unit Therefore and Its Use

An insertion site for a cannula (23) on a skin (8) of a patient is prepared by applying a skin cover unit (1) of the type comprising a window (2) and a wall (3) in extension of the window (2) and connected to the window (2) by a bending region (4) for bending the wall (3) into an angled orientation relatively to the window (2); wherein the win-dow (2) comprises a stabilizing frame (5) and an ultrasonic-transparent flexible sheet (6) within the frame (5). The flexible sheet (6) is glued onto the skin (8) of the patient for ultrasonic investigation of the insertion site through the flexible sheet (6). By bending the bending region (4), the angular orientation of the wall (3) is adjusted into an approximately perpendicular orientation relatively to the window (2) for separating the insertion site from the flexible sheet (6) by the wall (3). The cover unit (1) in or at the bending region (4) comprises a stabilizer (9) that is configured for maintaining the angled orientation between the wall (3) and the window (2) by a stabilizing action of the stabilizer (9).

The present invention pertains to a flexible universal catheter securement device for use with, e.g. Foley catheters and other catheters. The flexible universal catheter securement device preferably comprises a cover attached to a base at a longitudinal articulation point. The cover has a top cover surface and a bottom cover surface and the bottom cover surface has an adhesive foam padding. The base has a top base surface and a bottom base surface and the top base surface has an adhesive foam padding. The articulation point is foldable such that the cover can be placed on the base. The base and the cover preferably have a centerline and the articulation point is offset there from. The base further comprises a catheter placement axis and the longitudinal articulation point is located parallel to the catheter placement axis. The cover preferably has less surface area than the base.

Medical article securement systems

A medical article, such as a catheter, is secured with respect to a patient with a securement device. The securement device may include a retainer and anchor pad. Certain devices may further include, for example, straps, flaps, dressings, slots, and recesses for securing the medical article to the patient. The retainer may include a recess and/or a channel. At least one surface of the retainer may be coated with an adhesive. A support member may be coupled to the retainer. The support member may include a channel configured to receive a proximally extending portion of the medical article.
