A locking structure is provided between the needle holder and the protective casing.
Winged needle set securement
A connector to secure a winged needle set to a catheter assembly may include a male luer lock. The male luer lock may include a tapered male discharge nozzle and a locking ring surrounding the tapered male discharge nozzle. The locking ring may be internally threaded. The connector may include a septum configured to prevent flow through the tapered male discharge nozzle. The connector may include an arm, which may include a first end, a second end, and a hinge portion disposed between the first end and the second end. The first end may be coupled to the male luer lock. In response to the hinge portion moving from an open position to a closed position, the arm may be configured to secure the winged needle set to the connector.
INTRODUCER NEEDLE HAVING A BUMP AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A catheter system may include a catheter adapter, which may include a distal end, a proximal end, and a lumen extending through the distal end of the catheter adapter and the proximal end of the catheter adapter. The catheter system may include a septum assembly disposed within the lumen of the catheter adapter. The catheter system may include a catheter extending from the distal end of the catheter adapter. The catheter system may include an introducer needle, which may include a proximal end, a sharp distal tip, and a bump disposed between the proximal end and the sharp distal tip. The proximal end of the introducer needle may be secured within a needle hub of the catheter system. In response to the bump contacting the septum assembly, the sharp distal tip of the introducer needle is disposed distal to a distal end of the catheter.
Needle tip protector for indwelling needle and indwelling needle assembly
The present invention provides a needle tip protector of a novel structure for an indwelling needle, which enables improvements in safety, etc. as compared with conventional needle tip protectors. A needle tip protector 10 for an indwelling needle includes a tubular peripheral wall 58, and is externally attached over a needle hub 22 of an indwelling needle 16 and moved toward a needle tip 14 side so as to cover the needle tip 14. Detents 74, 74, which are to be detained with the needle hub 22 at a position in a movement of the protector toward the needle tip 14 side of the indwelling needle 16 so as to inhibit backward movement of the protector to the proximal end side of the indwelling needle 16 and to prevent the needle tip 14 from being reexposed, are formed within an inside enclosed by the peripheral wall 58, and are integrally molded with the peripheral wall 58.
Needle assembly
A needle assembly for percutaneously infusing fluids to a body and/or withdrawing fluids from a body is provided. The needle assembly comprises a polymeric body having a passageway in a proximodistal direction. A wing assembly is secured to the body, and the wing assembly including first and second wings extending laterally in opposite directions from said body. A hollow needle is arranged in said passageway, such that it extends distally from said body, wherein said needle is press fitted or interference fitted in said passageway.
Central Catheters, Assemblies, and Methods Thereof
Central catheters, central catheter assemblies, and methods thereof. A central catheter includes a catheter tube coupled with a number of the extension legs, a needle hub coupled with the catheter tube, where the needle hub is configured to receive a needle therethrough so that the needle is disposed within a primary catheter tube lumen. The central catheter includes a manifold hub for coupling the extension legs with the catheter tube. The manifold hub may be integral to the needle hub. The needle hub includes a septum within a needle hub lumen, where the septum is configured to define a fluid tight seal with a needle and to prevent fluid flow through the proximal portion of the needle-hub lumen when the needle is withdrawn from the needle-hub lumen. Catheter stabilization platform, systems, and methods
An attachment for a catheter assembly may include a platform, which may include an upper surface and a bottom surface. The bottom surface may be configured to contact skin of a patient. At least a portion of the upper surface may be configured to support the catheter assembly. The upper surface may support the catheter assembly at an angle with respect to skin of the patient that is approximately equal to an insertion angle of a catheter of the catheter assembly. The attachment may include snap feature coupled to the upper surface of the platform. The attachment may include a blunt cannula extending distally from the snap feature. The blunt cannula and the portion of the upper surface may provide a generally straight pathway for an instrument inserted distally through the attachment into the catheter assembly.
Needle guard
A needle set includes a needle guard and a winged needle. The needle guard has upper and lower jaws, each of the upper and lower jaws defining a channel and coming together at a hinge. The upper and lower jaws are separated by slots in sides of the needle guard, which slots divide the sides into upper and lower side walls, respectively. The winged needle can be inserted between the upper and lower jaws, with wings of the winged needle passing through the slots. The hinge has an opening and a tube connected to the winged needle passes through the opening.
Dialysis access
A dialysis access is disclosed. The dialysis access includes a tubular base, an initial access structure, a persistent access structure, and a seal. The initial access structure is retractably disposed within an interior of the tubular base and includes a piercing tip. The initial access structure is retractable from an extended position to a withdrawn position. The persistent access structure is coupled to the tubular base and surrounds and extends along a length of the initial access structure with the piercing tip exposed while in the extended position. The persistent access structure remains stationary relative to the base with the initial access structure in the withdrawn position. The seal is disposed within the tubular base to surround the initial access structure while in the extended position and to isolate the initial access structure from a fluid flow path within the tubular base while in the withdrawn position.
VASCULAR ACCESS INSTRUMENT AND RELATED DEVICES AND METHODS
A vascular access system may include a catheter assembly, which may include a catheter hub and a catheter extending distally from the catheter hub. The vascular access system may include an instrument advancement device coupled to the catheter assembly. The instrument advancement device may include a vascular access instrument. The vascular access instrument may include a coil formed by a flat wire wound around an axis into multiple loops. The instrument advancement device may be configured to advance the vascular access instrument from a retracted position to an advanced position beyond a distal end of the catheter. The distal end of the catheter may include a distal opening. The coil may extend through the distal opening of the catheter in response to the vascular access instrument being in the advanced position.
