METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DELIVERY OF CELL THERAPIES
A method and apparatus for delivery of cell therapies, introduced via percutaneous access to the circulation, and delivered to the site of vascular injury or intervention.
INFLATION DEVICE WITH DETACHABLE HOUSING AND RELATED METHODS
A syringe assembly or inflation device that includes a detachable housing. A pressure-sensing syringe assembly or inflation device can include both a syringe barrel and a housing that is coupled to the syringe barrel in a locked configuration. The inflation device can transition from the locked configuration to the unlocked configuration in which the housing is separable from the syringe barrel. Related methods are also disclosed.
Pressure relief for a catheter balloon device
An inflation device for selectively inflating a balloon of a surgical instrument including a syringe, a connector, a mechanical pressure indicator, and a relief port. The syringe includes a plunger slidably disposed within a barrel. The connector fluidly connects an outlet of the syringe with a surgical instrument balloon to establish a closed inflation system between the syringe and an interior of the balloon. The mechanical pressure indicator is associated with the syringe and configured to transition from a non-alert state to an alert state when a pressure of the inflation system has reached a predetermined level. The relief port is associated with the mechanical pressure indicator and configured to relieve a pressure of the inflation system when the system at least reaches the predetermined level.
Airway stabilization system
An airway stabilization system attachable to any airway device to maintain an airway in a patient and which prevents clinically significant movement of the airway device with respect to the patient's vocal cords in response to the application of significant forces in any direction to the device, be they longitudinal, torsional/rotational or bending. The system includes an improved airway device and an improved securing device having interactive components that cooperate integrally with and engage one another to provide unparalleled strength and stability against movement. The securing device includes a unique stabilizer configured to releaseably engage a retention structure on the airway device with a simple twist. A connector device connects the system to a source of ventilatory air without constricting the airway device.
ANGIOPLASTY MARKER AND GUIDE CATHETER WITH BIFRUCATION SITE STENTING, APPARATUS AND METHOD
An angioplasty apparatus for facilitating accurate placement of a lumen stent for dilating a stenosis, the apparatus includes arcuate low pressure balloon segment(s) connected at a distal end of a guiding catheter with gap(s) to facilitate blood flow during a stenting procedure. Optimal positioning of a stent at a lumen bifurcation is facilitated to obviate any tendency of a stent to miss a proximal end of a stenosis branch lumen while concomitantly preventing the stent from protruding into an original lumen, such as a patient's aorta.
VALVE SYSTEM FOR INFLATABLE MEDICAL DEVICE
The present invention relates to a valve system for an inflatable portion of an indwelling medical device and more particularly to a valve system for fluid regulation of a catheter comprising a fluid inflatable portion that undergoes pressure changes within the body during use.
Kyphoplasty system and method
A kyphoplasty system disclosed herein includes various instruments which can be selectively used to perform a kyphoplasty operation on a patient. For example, in some embodiments the kyphoplasty system includes an inflation plunger that is used to deliver a balloon inflation medium to enlarge an implantable balloon device. Further, some embodiments described herein include a connection system between the implantable balloon device and its delivery shaft that is simple to construct and easy to use. For example, in some embodiments one or more sutures are used to releasably connect the implantable balloon device to its delivery shaft.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANIPULATING THE SIDE WALL OF A BODY LUMEN OR BODY CAVITY SO AS TO PROVIDE INCREASED VISUALIZATION OF THE SAME AND/OR INCREASED ACCESS TO THE SAME, AND/OR FOR STABILIZING INSTRUMENTS RELATIVE TO THE SAME
Apparatus for accessing a body lumen or a body cavity, the apparatus comprising: a hollow shaft having a proximal end, a distal end and a lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end, wherein the lumen of the hollow shaft is configured to receive an endoscope, and further wherein the distal end of the hollow shaft comprises a movable portion which is configured to be moved between (i) a straight configuration in which the movable portion is parallel to a longitudinal axis of the hollow shaft, and (ii) a curved configuration in which the movable portion is curved relative to the longitudinal axis of the hollow shaft, whereby to bend the endoscope disposed within the lumen of the hollow shaft; a sleeve having a proximal end, a distal end and a lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end, wherein the lumen of the sleeve is configured to receive the hollow shaft and the endoscope disposed therein; an aft balloon mounted to the sleeve; a pair of push tubes slidably mounted to the sleeve; and a fore balloon mounted to the distal ends of the pair of push tubes, such that the fore balloon can be moved relative to the aft balloon.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FIXATION OF IMPLANTABLE DEVICE FOR URINARY CONTINENCE
An implantable device includes a conduit, an adjustable membrane element coupled to the conduit near the front end of the conduit for controllable coaptation of a body lumen, such as coaptation of a urethra as treatment for urinary incontinence, and a fixation mechanism at or near the front end of the conduit. In various embodiments, the fixation mechanism can anchor the implantable device to the tissue using a movement of a push wire. Optionally, the fixation mechanism can also allow the implantable device to be released from the tissue using another movement of the push wire, to allow for re-positioning or removal of the implantable device.
