20230139854 · 2023-05-04 ·

A urinary catheter may include a catheter shaft and a connector coupled with the proximal end of the catheter shaft. The connector may have a first arm ending in a fluid outlet configured to allow urine to flow out of the urinary catheter and a second arm with an aperture and ending in an inflation inlet used for introducing inflation fluid into the urinary catheter. The catheter may further include a primary lumen, an inflation lumen, a retention balloon mounted to the catheter shaft proximal to a fluid inlet and over a distal filling hole, and a pilot balloon mounted on the second arm of the connector over the aperture. The pilot balloon inflates at an inflation pressure that is higher than the inflation pressure of the retention balloon and lower than a predetermined pressure threshold.

Balloon Catheter Systems for Delivery of Dry Drug Delivery Vesicles to a Vessel in the Body

Devices and methods for balloon delivery of rapamycin and other hydrophobic compounds to the wall of blood vessels. Balloon catheters, such as those used for stent deployment, are modified with the addition of a reservoir of dry micelles. The micelle preparation is reconstituted and the micelles are mobilized when the aqueous solution used to inflate the balloons is injected into the catheter. The micelles are infused into tissue surrounding the balloon when pressurized fluid within the balloon leaks through the wall of the balloon.

RECTAL DRAIN APPLIANCE

A rectal drainage appliance is disclosed comprising a tubular element having an inflatable balloon at a distal end for anchoring the appliance in the rectum. The appliance includes one or more of: (i) first and second auxiliary lumens communicating with the inflatable balloon to provide independent inflation and pressure monitoring paths coupled to the balloon; (ii) a pressure state indicator defined by a mechanical element configured to flip between first and second states or shapes responsive to sensed pressure; and (iii) a collapsible auxiliary lumen larger than the inflation lumen, and configured to permit admission of irrigation fluid. The pressure state indicator may also be used in intestinal drains.

Reinforced Balloon Catheter

A balloon catheter is described having a reinforced, co-axial, duel lumen design. In some embodiments, the balloon catheter includes a purging mechanism designed to purge air from the balloon.

Pressurizing Device

The pressurizing device includes a syringe configured to store a fluid, a plunger for discharging the fluid to the outside of the syringe when the plunger moves to one side in a first direction, a regulating member configured to move in a second direction intersecting the first direction, between a separated position of being separated from the plunger and a contact position of being in contact with the plunger, a lever configured to move the regulating member from the contact position to the separated position, and a rotation mechanism provided at a position overlapping with the regulating member in the second direction, configured to move in the second direction in accordance with rotation of the lever, and configured to move, when moving to one side in the second direction, the regulating member from the contact position to the separated position.

GAS INFLATION DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS

Devices, systems, and methods for inflation are provided. Inflation devices include a housing, a compressed gas canister disposed therein, a syringe disposed within the housing, a plunger slidably disposed in the syringe having an unloaded position and a loaded position relative to the syringe., a puncture mechanism disposed within the housing and configured to open a fluid path between the compressed gas canister and the syringe, and a positive pressure mechanism disposed within the housing and operably coupled to the syringe. Engagement of the puncture mechanism puts the syringe into fluid communication with the compressed gas canister such that gas contained therein loads into the syringe and the plunger moves from the unloaded position and the loaded position. The positive pressure mechanism is configured to maintain the gas within the syringe at a positive pressure relative to ambient pressure in order to prevent air from entering the syringe after loading.

BALLOON CATHETER SYRINGE FOR OBTAINING NOMINAL INFLATION PRESSURE AND DEFLATION VACUUM
20230173234 · 2023-06-08 ·

Various aspects of methods, systems, and use cases may be used to inflate a balloon catheter using a syringe. The syringe may include a channel portion shaped to create a channel, and a plunger, for example including an inserted end and a free end, which when inserted in the channel to place the inserted end at a plunger starting position, causes a starting pressure to be applied to the balloon catheter. In an example, the channel portion or the plunger includes at least one visual indicia indicating the plunger starting position, the plunger starting position located along an insertion axis (e.g., of the channel portion and the plunger).

MEDICAL PRESSURE GAUGE

Provided is a pressure gauge capable of being effectively used for internal pressure measurement of a balloon catheter and capable of providing easy monitoring of a pressure value even when measuring internal pressure of an extracorporeal circulation circuit. The pressure gauge measures internal pressure of a balloon catheter used for treatment and diagnosis or pressure of a body lumen of a living body and includes a coil-shaped tube 2 to elastically deform. One end of the tube 2 is set as an open fixed end and the other end is set as a sealed free end and pressure introduced from the open fixed end can be measured based on a displacement position of the tube 2 due to the pressure.

ACTUATING MECHANISM, METHOD OF OPERATION AND ASSEMBLY FOR FLUID DISPLACEMENT AND PRESSURIZING DEVICE
20170246433 · 2017-08-31 ·

A fluid pressurizing and displacement device which is configured for both macro movement and micro movement of a plunger. In order to execute micro movement of the plunger, a user need only rotate the plunger; to execute macro movement of the plunger, a user need only push or pull the plunger. This simplicity in use is possible because a half-nut (or other suitable structure within the device) remains engaged with the plunger, except when the plunger is being pushed or pulled by its operator. All user motions are simple and intuitive.
