20240269426 · 2024-08-15 ·

Disclosed herein are intermittent catheters and methods thereof. In an example of an intermittent catheter, the intermittent catheter can include a catheter tube, a lubricant disposed over a surface of at least a distal portion of the catheter tube, and a funnel coupled to a proximal portion of the catheter tube. The catheter tube can be of a polymeric material. The lubricant can have a solid state below 68? F. and a liquid state above 68? F. such that the lubricant transitions into the liquid state upon insertion into a urethra of a patient or user. The funnel can include a funnel opening in a proximal end of the funnel for voiding urine. In an example of a method of an intermittent catheter, the method can include a method of making or using the intermittent catheter.

Ureteral and Bladder Catheters and Methods of Inducing Negative Pressure to Increase Renal Perfusion

Ureteral catheters and assemblies are provided including: a proximal portion; and a distal portion, the distal portion including a retention portion, wherein the retention portion includes an inwardly facing side including one or more drainage ports and an outwardly facing side, and wherein, when negative pressure is applied through the ureteral catheter, fluid is drawn into the ureteral catheter through the one or more drainage ports while mucosal tissue is prevented from appreciably occluding the one or more drainage ports.

CATHETER PLACEMENT ASSIST DEVICE AND METHOD OF USE

A single-use, sterile, disposable catheter placement assist device to aid in the sterile placement of transurethral urinary catheters in female patients, and a method for catheter placement using the device. The catheter placement assist device includes a labia separator with flared wings having a curved profile. The wings meet at a valley. The catheter placement assist device also includes a posterior shield that covers the perineal tissues including the anus to prevent contamination of the sterile catheter with bacteria and may further include a spout that may be shallowly inserted into the vagina to position the catheter device to optimize labial separation, retraction of the posterior vaginal wall, perineal shielding, and visualization of the urethral meatus. The additional features of a light, a handle, a catheter tip holder, a swab storage location, and a stackable configuration may further be included with the catheter placement assist device.

Ureteral and Bladder Catheters and Methods of Inducing Negative Pressure to Increase Renal Perfusion

Ureteral catheters and assemblies are provided including: a drainage lumen including a proximal portion configured to be positioned in at least a portion of a patient's urethra and a distal portion configured to be positioned in a patient's ureter and/or kidney, the distal portion including a coiled retention portion including at least a first coil having a first diameter and a second coil having a second diameter, the first diameter being less than the second diameter; or wherein the retention portion extends radially outwardly from a portion of the distal end of the drainage lumen portion, the retention portion including a proximal end having a first diameter, a distal end having a second diameter, and a wall and/or surface extending therebetween, the retention portion having a second diameter is greater than the first diameter when deployed; or wherein the retention portion includes a plurality of drainage tubes.

An intermittent catheter, preferably a female intermittent catheter, is provided in an assembly. The assembly may include a cap which may be attachable to the base of the assembly in use, and/or a seal which misaligns with sealing surfaces of a chamber wall and a moveable insert in use. It may have a two-step deployment, and/or a sheath that pulls out a storage chamber. Internal and external housing may define the storage chamber. The housing may have a filling aperture and/or the storage chamber may comprise an insert configured to move axially in response to rotation.

External Catheter with Finger Pocket for Self-Placement

A female external catheter includes a hollow body portion including a urethral inlet in fluid communication with an outlet. A wicking material covers the urethral inlet, and a catheter tube is coupled to the outlet, the catheter tube configured to transport urine away from the hollow body portion. The hollow body portion includes a finger portion with an opening configured to receive only a single finger to enable manipulation of the female external catheter in order to position and hold the wicking material against a urethral outlet of a female user.

Catheter Device and Method for Inducing Negative Pressure in a Patient's Bladder

A urine collection catheter is provided. The catheter includes: a conduit having an open distal end; a drainage tube positioned at least partially within the conduit; and a bladder superior wall support. The drainage tube includes one or more fluid ports or perforations for permitting fluid flow into a drainage lumen defined by the drainage tube. The bladder superior wall support includes a support cap and a plurality of support members extending from a proximal surface of the support cap through the open distal end of the conduit. The support cap is capable of being moved between a retracted position and a deployed position. In the deployed position, the distal end of the drainage tube is spaced apart from the support cap, such that the support cap supports portions of the superior wall of the bladder from occluding the one or more fluid ports or perforations of the drainage tube.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TREATMENT OF STRESS URINARY INCONTINENCE (SUI)
20180221634 · 2018-08-09 · ·

A device for insertion of material into a urethra comprising: a nozzle with a rounded nozzle tip, sized for at least partial insertion into the urethra; and a source of compressed material coupled to the nozzle where a pressure of the compressed material is less than 200 cm H.sub.2O; a control, for control of flow of material from the source through the nozzle; wherein a maximum extent of the device is less than 30 cm.

Intermittent catheter

Described is a catheter arrangement in which a sealed container of wetting agent is provided in a housing cap. The sealed container is pierced with a piercing member such that the wetting agent is directed towards the catheter. The wetting agent may bypass a handling surface of the catheter whilst being directed to the catheter tube.
