Intermittent urinary catheter

An intermittent urinary catheter 1 with a generally triangular cross-section with three substantially flat surfaces 7a, 7b, 7c connected by rounded corners 8a, 8b, 8c and at least one eyelet 6, 10 positioned in one of the surfaces is described.

Apparatus for treating urinary tract infections

A treatment apparatus which uses thermal or non-thermal plasma to treat urinary tract infections (UTIs) by destroying bacteria. The apparatus comprises an elongate probe that includes a coaxial cable for conveying radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic (EM) energy and/or microwave EM energy, a probe tip connected at the distal end of the coaxial cable for receiving the RF and/or microwave EM energy, and a gas conduit for conveying gas to the probe tip. The probe tip comprises a first electrode connected to the inner conductor of the coaxial cable, and a second electrode connected to the outer conductor of the coaxial cable, and wherein the first electrode and second electrode are arranged to produce an electric field from the received RF and/or microwave EM energy across a flow path of gas received from the gas conduit to produce a thermal or a non-thermal plasma.

Discrete Female Catheter

A discrete catheter assembly as provided includes a containment unit and an outer protector layer. The outer protector layer has a rear cap, which is fitted over the shell base of the outer protector layer in which the front cap of the outer protector layer is removed while the rear cap of the outer protector layer is moved in a first direction away from the dispenser, then moved in a second direction to permit a movement of the catheter of the containment unit towards the dispenser.

A one-piece integrally moulded device includes a tubular part (2) having a distal end (5). a proximal end (4) and a hand grip (10). An inlet opening (3) at the proximal end allows drainage of urine through an outlet opening (6) at the distal end. A closure (7) is connected to the tubular part by a first hinge (8) for closing the outlet opening (6). The device is moulded from a vinyl alcohol polymer with the chemical formula [CH.sub.2CH(OR)].sub.n where R?H or COCH.sub.3, with the COCH.sub.3 groups being randomly distributed throughout the molecule. The material has a degree of hydrolysis from 85-89% and is water soluble down to 10 degrees Celsius.

Negative pressure therapy system

Negative pressure therapy systems are provided for increasing urine production, the negative pressure therapy system including: (a) a pump assembly, the pump assembly including: (i) a pump configured to provide negative pressure to a kidney, and (ii) a controller configured to regulate the negative pressure provided by the pump within a pressure range that facilitates increased urine production from the kidney.

URINARY CATHETER ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A CATHETERIZATION AID PROVIDING A HANDLE AND AN INTERMITTENT CATHETER DISPOSED WITHIN THE HANDLE

A urinary catheter assembly includes a catheterization aid having a handle and a guide channel formed in the handle, and an intermittent catheter retained within the guide channel.

Catheter placement assist device and method of use

A single-use, sterile, disposable catheter placement assist device to aid in the sterile placement of transurethral urinary catheters in female patients, and a method for catheter placement using the device. The catheter placement assist device includes a labia separator with flared wings having a curved profile. The wings meet at a valley. The catheter placement assist device also includes a posterior shield that covers the perineal tissues including the anus to prevent contamination of the sterile catheter with bacteria and may further include a spout that may be shallowly inserted into the vagina to position the catheter device to optimize labial separation, retraction of the posterior vaginal wall, perineal shielding, and visualization of the urethral meatus. The additional features of a light, a handle, a catheter tip holder, a swab storage location, and a stackable configuration may further be included with the catheter placement assist device.
