Packaging For A Medical Device
The present invention relates to packaging 10 for housing a medical device 100. The packaging 10 includes first and second sides 12, 14 sealed or otherwise secured around the periphery thereof to define a plurality of edges. An interaction region 24 is provided and defines a first point of contact for a user of the packaging 100. The packaging 10 also includes a tear-away region 28 which may be at least partially separated from the remainder of the packaging to form an open upper end of the packaging 10, in use. The tear-away region 28 includes an interaction point defining a second point of contact for a user of the packaging 10. A sealing arrangement including first and second sealing members 42, 44 provides a user-sealable seal between the first and second sides 12, 14 of the packaging 10.
Telescopic urinary catheter assemblies
A urinary catheter assembly includes a catheter member and a sleeve member receiving at least a portion of the catheter member and having a greater flexibility than the catheter member. The assembly also includes a stylet having a proximal end movably positioned within the catheter member, with a distal portion of the stylet being positioned outside of the catheter member. The assembly is movable between a compact configuration and an extended configuration. In the compact configuration, the distal portion of the stylet is positioned outside of the catheter member and at least partially within the sleeve member. In the extended configuration, a larger distal portion of the stylet is positioned outside of the catheter member than in the compact configuration. The assembly may be in the extended configuration for introduction into a urethra or may be advanced through a urethra prior to being moved to the extended configuration.
DILATING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PROSTATIC URETHRA
A dilating device for the prostatic urethra comprising: Prostatic implant includes independently actuatable distal retractor incorporating and proximal retractor. Retractors may be connected via a spine member. System and method include implant manipulator detachably connected to implant, for manipulating and forcing implant into close proximity, for delivery into subject.
DRUG-COATED BALLOON CATHETERS FOR BODY LUMENS
Various embodiments disclosed relate to drug-coated balloon catheters for treating strictures in body lumens and methods of using the same. A drug-coated balloon catheter for delivering a therapeutic agent to a target site of a body lumen stricture includes an elongated balloon having a main diameter. The balloon catheter includes a coating layer overlying an exterior surface of the balloon. The coating layer includes one or more water-soluble additives and an initial drug load of a therapeutic agent.
URODYNAMIC INVESTIGATION APPARATUS, SYSTEM & METHODS
A urodynamic investigation apparatus for receipt of urine from a bladder is provided. The apparatus is characterized by a tubular element, first and second fittings, and a sleeve element, for select passage of urine there through, within the tubular element. The tubular element is characterized by opposing first and second end portions, and a port. The fittings are adapted to be received by the opposing end portions of the tubular element so as to delimit an apparatus chamber. The sleeve element, suspended between the fittings within the chamber, has collapsed and open configurations. The collapsed configuration is indicative of a no urine flow condition, and the open configuration indicative of a urine flow condition, with the sleeve element urine flow condition being a function of pressure applied to the chamber via the port of the tubular element.
FLUID COLLECTION DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
Examples relate to systems, devices, and methods for removing fluid from a fluid collection device using a portable vacuum source operably coupled thereto. The fluid collection devices include urine collection devices shaped to complement the female or male anatomy near the respective urethras and the vacuum source is operably coupled to the fluid collection device via one or more sections of conduit.
FLUID COLLECTION DEVICES, RELATED SYSTEMS, AND RELATED METHODS
In an embodiment, a fluid collection device includes a fluid impermeable barrier that at least partially defines a chamber. The fluid impermeable barrier also defines an opening extending therethrough that is configured to be positioned adjacent to a female urethra or have a male urethra positioned therethrough. The fluid collection device also includes a channel extending between an inlet and outlet thereof. The inlet is configured to be in fluid communication with a gas source and the outlet is configured to be in fluid communication with a fluid storage container. The outlet is positioned downstream from the inlet. The. The channel also defines at least one aperture or passageway therein that allows an interior of the channel to be in fluid communication with the rest of the chamber.
STERILE URINARY CATHETER PACKAGE WITH DISPENSING SYSTEM
A packaged closed intermittent urinary catheter system equipped with a dispensing system and method of dispensing a packaged catheter using the dispensing system. The dispensing system is a pair of separately translatable movement control devices, each operably engaging the catheter for permitting unidirectional movement of the catheter in a first axial direction relative to the movement control devices. The movement control devices may be mounted to a hand-grippable assembly with a sliding or pivoting movable member reciprocal to a base member. Alternatively, the movement control devices are mounted to a coupling member and a spring member biases them apart.
COMPACT URINARY CATHETER WITH STIFFENING MEMBER
A urinary catheter system, the system comprising: a urinary catheter having a distal end configured for insertion into a urethra and a proximal end, the urinary catheter including an elongate tubular member having a lumen extending between the proximal and the distal ends thereof, an elongate stiffening member attached to or embedded within a wall of the elongate tubular member, wherein the stiffening member is predisposed to assume a generally straight shape; a sheath slidably disposed over a portion of the urinary catheter near the distal end and configured to allow the urinary catheter to be advanced into the urethra without directly touching the urinary catheter; an enclosure for housing the urinary catheter, the enclosure comprising: a bottom member comprising a base and an inner wall with an inner hole leading to an inner open portion of the enclosure; and a top member comprising an outer wall with an outer hole leading out of the enclosure, wherein the top member is attached to the bottom member so as to rotate relative to the bottom member about an axis of rotation, wherein rotating the top member or the bottom member relative to the other member causes the urinary catheter to wind into a spiral between the inner wall of the bottom member and the outer wall of the top member; and a urine collection bag attached to the proximal end of the urinary catheter and housed within the inner open portion of the enclosure.
FLUID COLLECTION DEVICES, RELATED SYSTEMS, AND RELATED METHODS
In an example, a fluid collection device includes a fluid impermeable barrier that at least partially defines a chamber. The fluid impermeable barrier also defines an opening extending therethrough. The opening is configured to be positioned adjacent to a female urethra or have a male urethra positioned therethrough. The fluid collection device also includes a conduit at least partially disposed in the chamber. The conduit defines at least one aperture that allows an interior of the conduit to be in fluid communication with the chamber. The fluid collection device further includes a valve. The valve includes a first aperture coupled to the conduit and a second aperture that is fluid couplable to at least one of an air source, a vacuum source, or a fluid storage container. The valve is configured to control fluid flow through the conduit responsive to direction from a user.
