Methods and devices for treating itching
Methods and devices with noninvasive means for improving health such as treating itching especially skin itchiness are described. The non-invasive means is selected from electrical stimulation, heat or cold stimulation, IR (infrared) radiation, mechanical stimulation or their combinations. In some embodiments, the method and device utilizes electrical current passed through skin including the site having itchy feeling to achieve the desired therapeutical and beneficial effects.
HIGH-THROUGHPUT POROUS SUBSTRATE ELECTROPORATION DEVICES AND METHODS
Electroporation devices and methods of making the same. An electroporation device includes a plurality of independently controllable or addressable electrode pairs, a plurality of reaction chambers, each reaction chamber including a first chamber, a second chamber and a porous substrate separating the first chamber from the second chamber, and each reaction chambers being disposed between one of the plurality of independently controllable or addressable electrode pairs, a plurality of first microfluidic channels configured to deliver a cargo solution from a cargo inlet port to the plurality of first chambers, and a plurality of second microfluidic channels configured to deliver a cell culture from a cell inlet port to the plurality of second chambers. In operation, application of a voltage to an electrode pair permeabilizes the membranes of the cells adhered to the porous substrate in the reaction chamber disposed between the electrode pair.
Devices, Systems, And Methods For Applying Tumor-Treating Fields
An assembly for delivering tumor-treating fields to a body of a patient can include an electrode subassembly and one or more replaceable adhesive subassemblies. Each adhesive subassembly can have a support layer having a first side and a second side. The support layer can define at least one opening. Each electrode of the electrode subassembly can be received within a respective opening of the at least one opening. A first adhesive can be disposed on the first side of the support layer and can couple the support layer to an inner side of a covering layer of the electrode subassembly at an attachment surface of the covering layer. A biocompatible conductive adhesive can be disposed on the second side of the support layer.
Methods and systems for treating hypertension using energy-stimulated acupuncture applied to predefined acupuncture points
Energy stimulated acupuncture, directed to a novel set of acupoints, is implemented to treat hypertension. The disclosed methods and systems are directed toward the application of electrical stimulation, or other forms of energy, to specific acupuncture points, using devices such as transcutaneous electrical stimulation electroacupuncture devices, laser acupuncture devices or ultrasound acupuncture devices, to treat hypertension, particularly in middle-aged women.
Mask-type beauty instrument
A mask-type beauty instrument includes a flexible mask and a controller. The flexible mask includes a first flexible layer, a second flexible layer, a plurality of functional layers located between the first flexible layer and the second flexible layer, and a plurality of electrodes electrically connected with the plurality of functional layers. The functional layer includes a carbon nanotube layer including a plurality of carbon nanotubes uniformly distributed. The flexible mask is electrically coupled with the controller via the plurality of electrodes.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT
Described is a system for training and assessment. In operation, the system classifies a subject's baseline brain state and behavioral performance. Training goals are assessed to specify tasks the subject is to perform and a desired level of performance. The subject is subjected to neurological stimulation while the subject performs specified tasks. Behavioral data is assessed to determine if the subject has achieved the training goals. If the subject has achieved the training goals, the system stops. Alternatively, if the individual has not achieved the training goals, then neurological data is reviewed to identify activation states and values of the neurological stimulation that resulted in increased performance values from the baseline behavioral performance. The activation states and values of the neurological stimulation are adjusted to match those that resulted in increased performance values. The process is repeated until the subject has achieved the training goals.
METHODS FOR TREATMENT OF DISEASE USING GALVANIC VESTIBULAR STIMULATION
Methods are provided for treating diseases by altering body mass composition in a human subject through application of galvanic vestibular stimulation (GVS) using electrodes placed in electrical contact with the subject's scalp at a location corresponding to each of the subject's left and right vestibular systems. The methods may be used to treat obesity-related diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus and osteoporosis. GVS may be applied for a predetermined period of time at regular intervals.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ALTERING BODY MASS COMPOSITION USING GALVANIC VESTIBULAR STIMULATION
A device and method are provided for altering body mass composition in a human subject by applying galvanic vestibular stimulation (GVS) using electrodes placed in electrical contact with the subject's scalp at a location corresponding to each of the subject's left and right vestibular systems. The current source includes a feedback loop for measuring a resistance across the subject's scalp and adjusting a voltage output to maintain a constant current across the subject's scalp. GVS may be applied for a predetermined period of time at regular intervals.
Customized skin care and method to provide same
Methods to provide customized skin care by using specimen dispensing device to dispense specimens from removable dispensers for the purpose of treating skin of a user are presented. Methods to utilize the embedded memory and electrical interface of the dispensing device and dispensers to produce customizable skin care products that give better skin treatment results are also presented. The invention may also be applied to health care and personal care needs.
Device for treatment of depression, anxiety and pain
A device (100) for the treatment of depression, anxiety and pain, the device comprising: a plurality of adjacent dots (11) or other shapes, each comprising means for providing a signal being sensible by a touch sense, the signal comprising mechanical signal and/or electrical signal and/or temperature signal and/or magnetic signal; and a controller (32) for executing each of the means independently, for providing pre-programmed shapes (30, 40, 40A, 40B, 42, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54) being sensible by the touch sense, thereby allowing treating the depression, anxiety and pain by generating to the brain, signals resembling the pre-programmed shapes (30, 40, 40A, 40B, 42, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54) through the signals being sensible by the touch sense.
