Hot melt adhesive
A hot melt adhesive material and articles made using the hot melt adhesive to assemble structures in an article. The adhesive material typically is manufactured by blending amorphous polymer with a heterophase polymer having crystallinity into an adhesive composition.
PRINTABLE COATING
A primer-less coating composition for facestock comprises: a binder being a water-dispersible polymer; an ethylenically unsaturated compound which is aqueous-dispersible and miscible with or bonded to said water-dispersible polymer, wherein said ethylenically unsaturated compound is able to form a covalent bond with an ink; and a crosslinker, wherein said crosslinker is suitable for binding the coating to the facestock. The coating composition may be applied to a substrate to form a printable film. A printed film in accordance with the invention may be used in a label, for example for use on a container such as a bottle.
Inner liner for pneumatic tire and method for producing the same
Disclosed is an inner liner for a pneumatic tire, the inner liner including no less than 8 resin-layers, the resin-layer having a layer A constituted with a resin composition containing a gas barrier resin, and a layer B constituted with a resin composition containing an elastomer, at least one of the resin compositions included in the layer A and the layer B that are adjacent with each other containing a metal salt, the content of the metal salt being no less than 1 ppm and no greater than 10,000 ppm in terms of metal element equivalent, and an interlayer adhesive force between the layer A and the layer B being no less than 500 g/15 mm. The layer A and the layer B are preferably alternately laminated.
DIP-FORMED SYNTHETIC POLYISOPRENE LATEX ARTICLES WITH IMPROVED INTRAPARTICLE AND INTERPARTICLE CROSSLINKS
A synthetic polyisoprene latex emulsion has pre-vulcanization composition and post vulcanization composition. The pre-vulcanization composition comprises soluble sulfur with high S.sub.8 ring structure that is catalytically broken by a zinc dithiocarbamate. Surfactants present in the pre-vulcanization composition wets synthetic polyisoprene particles and permeates small sized sulfur and accelerator molecules into the interior of these particles thereby pre-vulcanizing the particles. The degree of pre-vulcanization is verified by isopropanol index test. The latex emulsion has post-vulcanization composition with accelerators that crosslink inter-particle region during post vulcanization cure cycle. The dipped synthetic polyisoprene article is substantially uniformly cured both in the inter-particle and intra-particle regions and reliably exhibits high cross link density, uniform distribution of double bonds in TEM and zinc segregation at the boundaries or original particles by electron microprobe analysis. The films exhibit high tensile strength, tensile modulus, tear strength, burst pressure and burst volume.
PRODUCTION OF ELASTOMERIC FILMS
A method for producing multi-layered elastomeric film or article, the method comprising: (i) dipping a mould into a composition for producing an elastomeric film having a total solids content of between 5%-40% to produce a layer of elastomeric film composition on the mould, (ii) partially drying the layer of elastomeric film composition on the mould to reduce the total water content of the elastomeric film composition to a level of not less than 22%, (iii) dipping the mould coated with the partially dried layer of elastomeric film composition into a composition for producing an elastomeric film having a total solids content of between 5%-40% to produce a further layer of elastomeric film composition on the mould, (iv) optionally repeating the partial drying step (ii) and the further dipping step (iii), and (v) drying and curing the layers of elastomeric film composition on the mould.
Multilayer laminate which can be used for the reinforcement of a tyre belt
A multilayer laminate, which is usable as a reinforcing element for a finished article or for a semifinished product made of rubber, such as a tire, includes at least one polymer film having, in any tensile direction in the film's plane, a Young's modulus that is greater than 500 MPa. The film is positioned between and in contact with two layers formed of a rubber composition, such as natural rubber. Each layer formed of the rubber composition exhibits, in a crosslinked state, a secant modulus that, in extension at 10% elongation, is greater than 30 MPa, with between 30 and 150 MPa being preferable for the secant modulus.

HEAT-SHRINKABLE MULTILAYER FILM AND HEAT-SHRINKABLE LABEL
The present invention provides a heat shrinkable multilayer film which has excellent adhesiveness between front and back layers and an interlayer not only at normal temperature but also at low temperature to effectively prevent delamination and is less likely to have residual white streaks along creases. The present invention also provides a heat shrinkable label including the heat shrinkable multilayer film. The present invention relates to a heat shrinkable multilayer film including: front and back layers each containing a polyester resin; an interlayer containing a polystyrene resin; and adhesive layers, the front and back layers and the interlayer being stacked with the adhesive layers interposed therebetween, the adhesive layers each containing 20 to 65% by weight of a polystyrene resin and 35 to 80% by weight of a polyester elastomer.
