SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATMENT OF PAIN FOLLOWING AMPUTATION AND SURGICAL TISSUE REMOVAL
Paind felt in a given region of the body can be treated by stimulating a peripheral nerve at a therapeutically effective distance from the region where pain is felt to generate a comfortable sensation (i.e., paresthesia) overlapping the regions of pain. Systems and methods to reduce pain in a painful region following surgical amputation of an extremity or limb may include stimulating a peripheral nerve innervating the painful region with an electrode inserted into tissue and spaced from the peripheral nerve. This method may be used to help alleviate postoperative pain in patients following amputation of an extremity or limb.
Multipolar Cannula
A multi-polar cannula having a cannula tube with a distal end and a proximal end and with a first electrode and at least one second electrode wherein the cannula tube has a cannula tube body and a layer that electrically insulates the first and second electrodes from each other, wherein the distal end of the cannula tube has a distal tip, wherein the first electrode is formed by the cannula tube body, and wherein the first electrode and the second electrode are connectable to a bioimpedance meter.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING FAULT CONDITIONS IN ELECTROPORATION THERAPY
Example systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer program products are disclosed for electroporating cells in a tissue using a set of voltage pulses generated by capacitor charge circuitry based on a voltage supply. An example method includes continuously monitoring a set of characteristics of the voltage supply and the set of voltage pulses; generating a first set of monitor signals based on the set of characteristics; detecting a first fault condition based on the first set of monitor signals; and generating a first crowbar trigger activation signal. The example computer method further includes: detecting a second fault condition based on a second set of monitor signals generated based on the first set of monitor signals; and generating a second crowbar trigger activation signal. Subsequently, the example computer method includes electrically disconnecting the capacitor charge circuitry from electroporation electrode circuitry based on either the first or second crowbar trigger activation signal.
Methods and devices for performing electrical stimulation to treat various conditions
In certain variations, systems and/or methods for electromagnetic induction therapy are provided. One or more ergonomic or body contoured applicators may be included. The applicators include one or more conductive coils configured to generate an electromagnetic or magnetic field focused on a target nerve, muscle or other body tissues positioned in proximity to the coil. One or more sensors may be utilized to detect stimulation and to provide feedback about the efficacy of the applied electromagnetic induction therapy. A controller may be adjustable to vary a current through a coil to adjust the magnetic field focused upon the target nerve, muscle or other body tissues based on the feedback provide by a sensor or by a patient. In certain systems or methods, pulsed magnetic fields may be intermittently applied to a target nerve, muscle or tissue without causing habituation.
SKIN TREATMENT NEEDLE WITH ENERGY UNIFORMITY CORRUGATIONS AND SKIN TREATMENT DEVICE
Disclosed is a skin treatment needle by which energy is supplied into skin tissue to increase the speed of skin regeneration. The skin treatment needle includes a needle body that is formed of a conductive material and inserted into skin, starting from a front end thereof. A region of an outer circumferential surface of the needle body includes a conductive portion which is a region inducing an electric field different from those formed at other portions of the needle body, and the conductive portion includes a plurality of corrugations to cause an electric field formed via the conductive portion to have a uniform distribution without being biased and concentrated to a side.
Multipolar Cannula
A multipolar cannula, comprising: a cannula tube, which has a distal end and a proximal end; a first electrode; and at least one second electrode. The cannula tube has a cannula tube body and a coating, which electrically insulates the first and the second electrode from one another. The distal end of the cannula tube has a distal tip, and an attachment is arranged on the proximal end, which attachment has an electrically contacting connection point for the electrodes. The electrically insulating coating and at least the second electrode are applied to the cannula tube body in a thin-film process.
Neuromodulation System and Method with Feedback Optimized Electrical Field Generation
A neuromodulation system and method with feedback optimized electrical field generation for stimulating target tissue of a patient to treat neurological and non-neurological conditions. The system generally includes implantable electrodes, implantable sensors, an implantable or external electrical signal generator, and an implantable or external controller. The controller controls the electrical signal generator to generate electrical noise stimulation signals that are delivered to the target tissue via the electrodes and that produce an optimized electric field having maximized voltage with low current density. The sensors produce temperature and impedance data for the target tissue and the controller automatically responds to values of the sensor data that indicate potential damage to the target tissue to reduce the strength of the electric field.
Needle-Array Devices and Related Methods
In part the disclosure relates to methods of treating acne, excessive sweating, unwanted hair, and/or unwanted blood vessels. The method may include providing a needle array comprising a plurality of needles; inserting plurality of needles into a dermis of a treatment area; detecting a location of an enlarged sebaceous gland; and energizing one or more of the plurality of needles to treat sebaceous glands, one or more sweat glands, vascular legions, unwanted hair follicles and/or unwanted blood vessels.
Treatment tip with protected electrodes
Described herein are treatment tip apparatuses (e.g., devices, systems, etc.) including one, or more preferably a plurality, of electrodes that are protected by an electrode partition, such as an electrode housing (which may be retractable) until pressed against the tissue for deployment of the electrodes and delivery of a therapeutic treatment. In particular, these apparatuses may include a plurality of treatment electrodes (e.g., needle electrodes) and be configured for the delivery of nanosecond pulsed electric fields.
